1995 Ford Taurus Roadster Project on 2040-cars

Year:1995 Mileage:65000
Location:

Davenport, Iowa, United States

Davenport, Iowa, United States

This started life as a 1995 Ford Taurus sedan that has had severe modifications to be the state it's in currently.  This has been a fun project to work on however since losing my shop space I no longer have time or space to complete.

The body has a completely custom one-off fiberglass kit applied to it that is 90% or so complete.  Everything is completely molded into the car with the exception of the driver side skirt which does come with the vehicle.  The headlights are driving lights wired to work as head lights.  The taillights are LED's behind the fiberglass which show up through the glass when lit.  The underbody of the car is reinforced with 2" x 2" box steel and the roof has been cut along with the window frames on the doors.  The guts of the doors have been removed however the inside door handles are in tact and function as the outside handles have been shaved.  There is a 2000 Mustang Convertible dashboard installed in the car and an instrument cluster from a 94-95 mustang installed and functional.  There is also an LCD monitor installed in the steering wheel that does function when the wheel turns. Also included with the car is the interior components that I have for it.  As you can see the door panels were previously wrapped in crushed velvet by the previous owner along with part of the seats and panels.  I also have other parts included with the car including the Taurus instrument cluster showing the car has 65k miles (The mustang cluster installed currently has just under 100k on it) on the body/drive train before it underwent surgery.

This car DOES run and drive however I would not drive it far since its essentially had zero miles on it for several years.  I do however start the car from time to time and move it in and out of the garage as I work on other projects it will will need a trailer to get it home.  This is a project and WILL need some work before it can be driven. The title is clean and clear and in my hand.  Car is sold as/is with no warranty implied.  Pickup within 7 days unless other terms are worked out with seller.

Would a Mustang-based Lincoln look like this?

Mon, 07 Jan 2013

Designer Josiah LaCalla has taken a stab at what a Ford Mustang-based Lincoln model might look like with the Continental Mark X1 concept. Make no mistake, Ford's luxury arm has made it abundantly clear that it won't be pursuing any new products outside of volume models, which means a flashy halo grand tourer like the one you see here isn't in the cards. LaColla used the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG as a basis for his creation, which explains the long nose, but we certainly don't mind the idea of a rear-wheel drive Lincoln with a cabin pushed to the aft.
While we're dreaming, there's certainly nothing stopping us from imagining what's under that lengthy hood. We like the idea of the 5.8-liter supercharged V8 from the Shelby GT500 pushing the Mark X1 down the road, but how about something a little more inventive? Something like a high-revving, buttery V12 with enough torque to push the contraption well past 200 miles per hour. Dream a little dream, people.

Can an actual Ford F-150 ride on 4 Power Wheels F-150s?

Tue, Dec 9 2014

A lot of kids are rough on their toys, especially when it comes to those made to be used outside, like a four-wheeled kid-size Power Wheels. Whether it's cruising through the sand box, carrying piles of rocks in the driveway or crashing around trees in the backyard, these motorized vehicles often take punishment from the moment the giftwrap comes off. The folks at Fisher-Price decided to give their latest F-150 Power Wheels a true torture test worse than any kid could have ever managed by setting a real 2015 Ford F-150 on top of four of them. Would the little toy trucks explode in a shower of plastic shards in a massive collapse, and if not, could they drive away afterwards? The latest F-150 might be 700 pounds lighter thanks to the switch to aluminum, but it's still a fullsize pickup. According to this clip, the truck weighs in at 4,120 pounds, which puts an average of 1,030 pounds on each of the toys. Check out the video above to see how the stunt goes, and click on the gallery below for some behind-the-scenes looks at the setup.

Mustang pinball game will feature art by Ford GT designer

Fri, 13 Dec 2013

To celebrate 50 years of Mustang, Ford and Stern Pinball are collaborating on a new pinball machine that will feature the muscle car in all its glory, Polygon reports. Even better, Camilo Pardo, the guy who designed the Ford GT, will provide art for the table; Tanner Foust, Top Gear USA host and professional driver, will handle narrating duties; and a Sony Music soundtrack spanning five decades will provide the tunes.
"The Mustang is one of the most iconic, American cars ever made... What better way to celebrate 50 years of Mustang than with the launch of the Ford Mustang pinball game?" says Stern Pinball CEO Gary Stern.
Watch the promotional trailer for the upcoming Mustang pinball machine below, which will have to hold you over until pricing and availability are announced in early 2014.
