Here's a great, dependable commuter car for you! Formerly selling under ProCarAutos (look me up) I have since branched out and now sell privately under my current username. This car is a 1993 Taurus GL. THESE ARE HER ACTUAL, ORIGINAL MILES!! She doesn't have a dent or a ding to be found on her, nearly NEW tires, a smoooooth shifting automatic transmission and was purchased by me from a dealer-was a new car trade in. Additionally, her A/C blows ICE COLD and AM/FM cassette player is in good, working order! Everything works, and I really can't say enough how BRAND NEW this car really is! The gray paint on her even shines! Beautifully clean, smoke-free cloth interior with roll up windows (who needs the extra expense of replacing window regulators anyway?) She's got an enormous, leak free trunk and no fluid leaks could be found from anywhere! Obviously garage kept for the vast majority of her life, because no matter how hard I looked, I couldn't find any rust either! She even has spare keys, all of which work, and all of the original Owner's Manuals! A rare find for a great price! Just give her a bath, turn the key, and away you go for many more miles! She's barely broken in! Clear, 2 owner, PA title IN HAND! BID WITH CONFIDENCE
To paraphrase the disclaimer under my former username, please bid on my items with confidence, yet carefully! Once you bid, THAT IS YOUR BID! Please contact me prior to bidding if you are a "new" Ebayer, (meaning <5 feedback) and please note that if you do not, I will CANCEL your bid and block you!! An immediate, NON-REFUNDABLE deposit of $500 is due with 24 hours of the auction ending, and the balance is due in CASH, CERTIFIED CHECK, or MONEY ORDER within 14 days! After that, storage for your new car will be at the rate of $25/day. This car is sitting in my driveway, once you've purchased it, I don't want it there anymore! At which the auction ends and you've successfully left your NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, we will arrange meeting in a neutral location within 10 MILES of my location (Postal code (08865). I do NOT arrange transportation, NOR will I pick you up from the airport. Newark Liberty International Airport is 1 hour East of me and Lehigh Valley International Airport is 25 minutes West of me. I will do everything in my power to accommodate you otherwise, but please understand that I, too have a Full Time Job, so contact me first and plan accordingly!

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis LS
Sat, Jan 21 2023Ford's now-defunct Mercury Division first began using the Marquis name in 1967, on a sporty full-size hardtop based on the Ford LTD, then began offering the Grand Marquis beginning in the 1979 model year. These big, boxy luxury sedans were replaced by big, curvy luxury sedans (on the same platform) starting with the 1992 model year, so today's Junkyard Gem is one of the very last squared-off Grand Marquises ever built. The 1991 Grand Marquis (or "Grandma Keith," as many refer to it today) looks nearly identical to its 1979 predecessor at a glance, just as the 2011 model doesn't differ much from the 1992 model. Ford saw no reason to follow short-lived fashion trends with its simple, sturdy rear-wheel-drive sedan. Only two Grand Marquis trim levels were available for 1991: the base GS and the (somewhat) upscale LS. The former listed at $18,741 and the latter at $19,241, which comes to about $41,494 and $42,601, respectively, in inflated 2022 dollars). This interior would have seemed comfortingly familiar to a 1968 (or even 1958) Mercury owner time-traveling to 1991. This is the optional "full grain leather seating surface," which cost an extra $489 (about $1,083 today). Dig those opera lights! Air conditioning was standard equipment in the 1991 Grand Marquis and its wagon counterpart, the Colony Park. The engine is the good old pushrod 5.0-liter Windsor V8, which would be replaced by a far more modern 4.6-liter SOHC mill in the '92 Grand Marquis. This engine was rated at 180 horsepower. A four-speed automatic was the only transmission available. The early 1990s ended up being the last gasp for padded vinyl roofs being considered mainstream equipment on new Detroit cars; this one was called the "Formal Coach" roof and cost an additional 725 bucks ($1,605 now). Such roofs were still available on a few cars later in the decade, but their time had passed. Why would such a clean Grandma Keith end up in a place like this? That's easy: it got T-boned directly into the right front wheel, mangling the body and bending up the suspension. This damage might have been worth fixing when the car was five years old, but it's a write-off when it happens to a 31-year-old Ford Panther. 1991 Mercury Grand Marquis Commercial - Savings Ad The granddaddy of them all, and on sale in South Texas! Feds looking into Ford Explorer exhaust leak complaints
Fri, 20 Jun 2014There may be a burgeoning problem with exhaust leaks in the 2011-2014 model year Ford Explorer. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is examining multiple complaints of a gasoline smell in the cabin of these SUVs. However, the exact cause of this problem is still unknown.
"The agency is reviewing all available data and will take appropriate action as warranted," said a NHTSA spokesperson in an email to Automotive News. Owners seem to generally complain on the regulator's website of the smell entering the cabin through the air vents. At this time, the government organization has not yet opened an official investigation into the problem, though. When it does begin inspecting vehicles, NHTSA posts a detailed breakdown of its public data online.
Similar problems have been reported about the Explorer in the past, though. In 2013, Ford issued a recall for the 2013 model year of the SUV due to a fuel leak that could cause drivers to smell a gasoline odor and repaired them again later for another possible leak. In response to Autoblog's questions, Ford responded via email: "We are not aware of a NHTSA investigation. We are currently reviewing the case and in the event that any action is required, we will address it promptly."
Ford recalls 300,000 Crown Vics over lighting module
Wed, Dec 23 2015The Basics: Ford is recalling 312,814 units of the Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans from the 2003-2005 model years. They were built at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant between Oct. 3, 2001, and Aug. 2, 2005. Ford says 296,004 of those units are located in the United States, with another 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico. The Problem: The solder joints on the lighting control module could crack, depriving the headlamps of the power they need to light the way ahead. That could increase the risk of a crash, particularly at night and in other low-visibility situations. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports that it is aware of 11 accidents that resulted from the problem, leading to one injury described as "minor." The Fix: The manufacturer is instructing dealers to replace the entire lighting control module. If You Own One: Make sure your headlights are working before getting under way. If they're not, avoid driving under low-light conditions, including at night, in heavy precipitation, or in fog.
