I am listing my 1983 Ford Ranger for sale. I really don't want to sell but don't have the time to fully finish it. The thing I have already done is a V8 swap with a C6 transmission and solid axle swap. The motor and Transmission only has around 5,000 mile on it AND THE TIRES AROUND 6,000 miles on them. The motor and trans did not come from a junk yard, it was ordered as a crate motor and trans. I done the solid axle swap using a yj jeep suspension and jeep yj Dana30 with the front brake hardware being brand new( calipers, rotors, and brake hoses, and pads)It is setting on 37x13.50 Pro Comp xterrain tires but could fit 39-40 inch tires. I have a rear disc brake conversion kit for it but have not got around to install it. it also has bushwacker cutout fender flares installed on it
A list of stuff that will need to be done is a front driver side axle shaft and hub, front drive shaft modified to fit ( have a drive shaft, just need to be shortened with a bigger joint put on), a front sway bar, steering gear box, and the Carburetor cleaned due to truck not being drove. Will crank up but after the choke kick off some times will have a hard time idling. the inside of the truck does not have any carpet. it has been sprayed with bed liner spray and the painted. the inside will need some work. it also does not have A/C or a heater. there is also a small rust spot above the windshield on the driver side
The 13gal gas tank was replaced with a 20gal fuel cell which is bolted in the bed of the truck. WITH A LITTLE WORK COULD BECOME A DAILY DRIVER in some area but where I live it is sitting to high to be street legal
The truck is being sold as is and i would strongly recommend towing it mainly because of high it is sitting with no sway bar and the front hub bearing assembly and the steering box. I also have a extra set of leaf springs that will fit on the front , and the rear disc brakes, and any other parts I may still have for the truck. It does have a clear title but do not have the title because of where I live, it is old enough to not have to have the title. just in the motor, and transmission I have around $2,500.00 in it and the wheels and tires another $2,200.00 and thats not counting the extra stuff. The only reason I am listing it is because I got to many project going on and don't know when I will get back around to messing with the truck again. It is also being sold locally so I reserve the right to end the listing early If you are within 150 miles I can deliver the truck for an additional charge. feel free to ask any question you may have. Also if you dont plan on buying it don't bid

Chip Ganassi Racing switches to the Ford EcoBoost-powered Riley Daytona Prototype
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) announced yesterday at Ford's SEMA press conference that it will field a Ford-Riley Daytona Prototype with the 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 in the 2014 United SportsCar Championship (USCC). CGRFS is the second team to commit to the new Ford-Riley car, behind Michael Shank Racing (which has already used the racecar to break a 26-year-old top-speed record at Daytona International Speedway).
"Over the last 10 seasons we have been able to experience a great deal of success in Grand-Am," Chip Ganassi says, "and now with the dawn of the new United SportsCar Championship we feel that Ford power will be a key ingredient to writing the next chapter of our sports car program."
In the last Grand-Am season, CGRFS raced a BMW-Riley Daytona Prototype. The team has won seven Daytona Prototype championships, all in the past ten years. Scott Pruett and Memo Rojas return as the team's prototype co-drivers, and will attend their maiden race in the Ford-Riley at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in January.
2015 Ford Expedition stays the course, adds EcoBoost power
Tue, 18 Feb 2014The era of the body-on-frame, fullsize SUV is rapidly vanishing in favor of smaller, unibody crossovers. However, Ford still sees life in the segment with the reveal of the updated 2015 Expedition, now available (solely) with the company's 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6. The new truck will make its public debut at the 2014 DFW Auto Show in Dallas on February 19.
The loss of the previous 5.4-liter V8 in favor of Ford's 3.5-liter, direct-injected, twin-turbocharged V6 engine might rankle some of the Expedition's fans, but Ford claims that the change gives the SUV better fuel economy, more power and increased low-end torque than before. Unfortunately, official engine specifications won't be released until later this year, but Ford says engine output will be similar to the 365 horsepower and 360 pound-feet of torque that this powerplant produces in other applications. The EcoBoost is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, and the SUV now uses electrically assisted power steering, for an even greater fuel economy advantage. Ford claims this also allows for better maneuverability at low speeds and better feel at high speeds.
Exterior styling is basically unchanged for 2015. The front end has the same three-bar chrome grille and headlight design, but the lower air dam gets added chrome and LED lamps. The rear gets more brightwork on the hatch, and there's a chrome-tipped exhaust pipe. As before, Ford is offering the Expedition in two wheelbase lengths - 119 inches and 131 inches. A new, optional, continuously controlled damping system alters suspension settings constantly based on 46 parameters and offers comfort, normal and sport modes (just like the Expedition's sister, the recently refreshed and decidedly less-attractive Lincoln Navigator).
Ford cranks up '32 Ford body production
Tue, 14 Jan 2014If you're going to build your own hot rod, you'll want to start with a '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe. Favored by American servicemen returning from World War II, the '32 Ford remains the very icon of the hot rod to this day. The trouble is there were only so many of them made in the first place, and finding one today can be a challenge. That's where reproduction models come in.
The aftermarket is replete with companies that will sell you a fiberglass body in the form of a '32 Ford coupe, but quality can be hit or miss. So to help meet demand among hot rod builders and enthusiasts, Ford has teamed up with United Pacific Industries to offer officially licensed body shells.
Announced at the SEMA show in November, the '32 Ford 5-Window Coupe body is made from stamped steel according to original specifications from original machinery where possible or reproduced machinery built to the same original specifications where necessary. The bodies are ready to accept vintage powertrains or crate motors from the Ford Racing catalog, and join the 9,000 other parts offered in the Ford Component Sales catalog - including similar reproduction bodies available for the 1965-70 Mustang and 1940 Ford Coupe. From there, the proverbial sky's the limit.
