Hello, Your looking at a very nice 2001 Ford Ranger XLT X-Cab 4 Door 4x4 Automatic, Loaded, 4.0 Liter Flairside Pickup that has been very well cared for. I purchase this vehicle from the second owner here in Florida but the original owner was a snow bird and was from Minnesota so the undercarriage shows like a northern vehicle just surface rust that has been undercoated see pic's. Fresh oil change with mobil 1 5w30 synthitic along with new front hub bearings, new front brakes and new rotors. This truck runs and drives excellent  including  the 4 wheel drive  and everything is in working order except for the cruise control.  This is a 2 Passenger  "No Rear Jump Seats" This truck has the bigger  6 cylinder the highly desired 4.0 liter, no noises, no leaks so smoke no stories. The Interior is near perfect very clean, no stains no odors being a non smokers vehicles.   The alloys are in good shape and the Michlen tires have plenty of thread left.  Now about the body the paint looks to be all original and shines brilliantly with only minor touch up here and there. I did not see this until I was waxing the roof of the truck Please look at the pic's I want you to know that the roof has lots of dings like hail damage and the passenger door moulding on top by the glass has a few dings also. The rest of the truck is fine so I really dont know what happened.  The hood is fiberglass and the bed is fiberglass maybe thats why,  I don't know. Please take the time to view all the photos you can see for yourself this is a beautiful little truck it looks alot newer than a 2001. Remember this truck has only 45,137 original miles and has been very well maintained. Your paperwork will read 45,137 actual miles but the title will read miles Exempt,  Florida is a Mileage Exempt State on vehicles over 10 years old. Even though this Ranger is in above average condition it is still 12 years old so minor imperfections should be expected but may or maynot be present. Bid with confidence I'm a licensed and bonded dealer here in Florida with over 40 years in the industry. I only buy Quaility Vehicles with no stories. The Auto Check Vehicle History Report is Clean No Accidents, No Mileage Issues, No Stories with a very high Auto Check Score of 92. I do not charge dealer fees all you pay is the selling price of the vehicle and the taxes in your state. If your flying in and driving home I can issue you a 30 day temp tag at no cost to you. If you flying  in to SRQ in Sarasota or RSW in Fort Myers I would be more than happy to pick you up. Please keep in mind my goal is to keep my  feedback at 100% positive and to make this a pleasureable buying experience. If you have any questions or concerns please call me direct @ 508 735-5071 my name is Bob.        Thank-you in Advance.

Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos

Thu, 12 Dec 2013

With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.

Ford F-150 RaptorTrax is Ken Block's ultimate snowmobile

Tue, 21 Jan 2014

Even when Ken Block isn't starring in the latest Gymkhana video or tearing up Global RallyCross courses, he's finding new ways to redefine "awesome" as it applies to motorsports. For evidence of this, look no further than Block's latest Monster-badged creation, the Ford F-150 RaptorTrax.
Billed as the "world's fastest snowcat," the RaptorTrax started life as a Ford F-150 SVT Raptor, and then a set of Mattracks were put in place where the truck's bead-locked wheels and meaty rubber once resided. The goal was to create a truck that made it easier - and presumably more fun - for Block and his buddies to hit the slopes on their snowboards. Aside from the obvious track upgrades, this truck also received a Whipple supercharger, full roll cage, Recaro seats, an in-bed snowboard rack, a roof basket and a rear-mounted winch - you know, just in case something or someone actually manages to get this truck stuck.
The RaptorTrax will be on display later this week at the Winter X Games in Apsen, CO, but we'll have to wait until next winter for a full Block-worthy video of the truck. A full press release from Hoonigan Racing Division is posted below, and a high-res image can be found by clicking above.

Ford Green Zone works magic with GPS to make your drive smarter, cleaner

Fri, Aug 29 2014

For the most part, plug-in hybrids rely on the power stored in the battery until that charge is depleted. Unless the switch can be changed manually, it's only then that the cars fire up the internal combustion engine and begin using the fossil fuels on board. This is ideal, of course, when one's drive isn't long enough that the car needs to start sipping gasoline at all. On longer commutes, when it's certain that the route is longer than the car's all-electric range, this isn't necessarily the most efficient use of energy. Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds. Ford is working on a smart system, based on Nokia mapping technology, that uses GPS data to use both the electricity and conventional fuel more efficiently. Since battery power is less efficient at highway speeds, Ford's Green Zone system is designed to save some of that juice for the parts of the drive that require slower speeds, rather than just using up all the electrons right at the beginning of the drive. Using a website or the in-car navigation system, the driver can pinpoint the parts of the route, highlighted in green, where using battery power would be more effective, and set the car to automatically switch to electricity for those sections. Depending on the route, the car could automatically switch back and forth between the two power sources multiple times, particularly if the drive is a mix between city and highway driving. Of course, Green Zone will be go beyond that. The program is being developed to take traffic and road grade into account, details that allow the car to be make even smarter choices to improve efficiency. Ford even hopes to have Green Zone learn driver habits, and respond accordingly depending on who is driving the car. The system could control other features as well, such as anticipating corners and shifting the headlights to better illuminate the road ahead. Green Zone could also potentially use information from vehicle-to-vehicle networking to control functions in the car. The Green Zone system still has a few years before it will be ready to be put into production vehicles, but Ford is confident it will make its way onto the road eventually. As with other innovations that improve efficiency and make our vehicles smarter, we can expect to see similar technology from other manufacturers, until it becomes a regular part of driving in the future.
