2011 Ford Ranger Xlt Extended Cab Pickup 4-door 4.0l on 2040-cars
Scandinavia, Wisconsin, United States
Up for auction is a pristine 2011 Ford Ranger 4X4 extended cab with onlt 15,000 miles on the clock. This truck is perfect in every way. Everything on the truck works as it should and is blast to drive. I purchased this truck (and every other vehicle in our family fleet) from a close friend of mine who own a repairables business with 8,800 miles on it. The truck was an easy fix (i'm an ASE certified automotive technician and high school shop teacher)) I originally purchased the truck with the intent to drive it myself as a daily driver. Unfortunately after driving the truck for several thousand miles I have come to the conclusion that the truck is just too small my present needs and the drivers seat is a bit uncomfortable for my newly replaced right hip so I've purchased an F150.
This truck has many really neat features such as the larger tire package 255 series tires, sliding rear tinted window,Sirius Satellite radio,MP3 player and nerf bars and sport aluminum rims. As stated above the truck has been Wisconsin state safety inspected and runs and drives like the day it rolled off the line. The fuel economy is great too! The truck was sold new from Colonial Ford in Lewisberg West Virginia and I'm the second owner. Bid and buy with confidence you just can't get this nice a small truck for this kind of money. This truck will just flat out exceed your expectations in every way....it still has the nubs on the tires.! Mileage on the truck may vary slighty, as I'm driving it until sold. The vehicle is available for sale locally and if sold in that manner the auction will be ended. The buyer is responsible for all transportation of the truck upon completed sale. I will be happy to assist in any way I can. A 500.00 non refundable payment is required within 24 hours of the close of the auction the balance is due with 7 days of the close of the auction. Please feel free to ask any questions you might have via email or phone 715-310-7564 my name is Bill. I will respond promptly. Thanks and good luck! |

Child cobalt miners: Automakers pledge ethical minerals sourcing for EVs
Wed, Nov 29 2017BERLIN - Leading carmakers including Volkswagen and Toyota pledged on Wednesday to uphold ethical and socially responsible standards in their purchases of minerals for an expected boom in electric vehicle production. Demand for minerals such as cobalt, graphite and lithium is forecast to soar in the coming years as governments crack down on vehicle pollution and carmakers step up their investments in electric models. To cover its plans for more than 80 new models by 2025, Volkswagen alone is looking for partners in China, Europe and North America to provide battery cells and related technology worth more than 50 billion euros ($59 billion). Talks with major cobalt producers, including Glencore, at VW's Wolfsburg headquarters last week ended without a deal. More than half of the world's cobalt comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo, a country racked by political instability and legal opacity, and where child labor is used in mines. On Wednesday, a group of 10 leading passenger-car and truck manufacturers announced an initiative to jointly identify and address ethical, environmental, human and labor rights issues in raw materials sourcing. The partnership dubbed "Drive Sustainability" consists of VW, Toyota Motor Europe, Ford, Daimler, BMW, Honda, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo Cars and truckmakers Scania and Volvo. The alliance "will assess the risks posed by the top raw materials (such as mica, cobalt, rubber and leather) in the automotive sector," said Stefan Crets of the CSR Europe business network. "This will allow Drive Sustainability to identify the most impactful activities to pursue" to address issues within the supply chain.Reporting by Andreas Cremer.Related Video: Image Credit: Michael Robinson Chavez/The Washington Post via Getty Images Green BMW Ford Honda Jaguar Land Rover Mercedes-Benz Automakers Toyota Volkswagen Volvo Green Automakers Green Culture Electric Scania ethics mining
Ford builds Lightweight Concept with Fusion shell [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It's a fairly well known fact that removing weight from a car is essentially a panacea for many of the modern automobiles problems. Does it handle like crap? Remove weight. Underpowered? Don't add power; trim the fat. Need to improve fuel economy? It's diet time.
Actually executing a major weight reduction program, though, much like with human beings, is no easy task. Unlike you or I, where motivation is the issue, the prohibitive measure in trimming a car's waistline is money. Lightweight materials are expensive, with carbon fiber and carbon-fiber reinforced plastic still primarily in the domain of higher end vehicles. Even aluminum construction, pioneered on a mass-produced level by Audi and Jaguar, is only now starting to make its way into the mainstream, thanks to the upcoming Ford F-150.
With this concept, though, Ford is attempting to show that a mass-produced, lightweight vehicle isn't too far off. This is the Lightweight Concept, and while it may look like a Fusion, it weighs as much as a Fiesta. For reference, the lightest Fusion available to the public is the 3,323-pound, 2.5-liter model with a manual transmission. A manually equipped, 1.6-liter Fiesta, meanwhile, is just 2,537 pounds.
Ford doubling 1.0L EcoBoost engine production
Fri, 06 Sep 2013Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost three-cylinder engine hasn't been around that long, but it sounds like the engine is getting to be fairly popular in the automaker's global car lineup. The Detroit News is reporting that Ford has add a second shift that will allow its German engine plant to double daily output from 500 engines to 1,000.
The increased capacity is part of a plan to sell more than 300,000 vehicles a year with this engine in Europe by 2015. Europe is currently the only market where the smallest of the EcoBoost engines is offered (including in the Focus pictured above), but US-spec Fiesta models will be getting this mill for 2014.
Three-cylinder engines are expected to continue to grow in popularity in coming years with the report indicating that global production of these engines will double by 2018 to 9.8 million units. General Motors, BMW and Mitsubishi are all expected to introduce three-cylinder engines in the near term, as well.
