You are bidding on a 2001 Ford Ranger XLT V6 3.0L, 4 door, 2 wheel drive. I am the original owner of this truck. It does have some minor dents, dings, scratches, and rust that would be expected with a 12 year old truck. It has the following features that were added on;
Remote start, Sidesteps, Bed lid, Bed liner, AC (gets ice cold quick!), sliding rear window, cruise, and chrome-skinned wheels.
Current mileage is 182,622. This isn't my primary truck but I do drive it a few times a week to keep the juices flowing, so the mileage will change.
The following maintenance items have been done;
Oil change done at 181040.
Replaced rear differential cover (was rusty) at 181685
Replaced both rear shackles at 181685
Fan clutch assy, water pump, and harmonic balancer replaced at 181908
Replaced cruise control buttons at 176669
Replaced front ball joints and springs at 167308
Replaced front rotors (new, not turned), serpentine belt, window regulator, and belt tensioner at 165367
Replaced rear rotors at 162283
Tires replaced at 166899
I have tried to maintain this as best as I could and always taken care of issues as they come up. Service records will be provided to substantiate the repairs that I have described above.
Original MSRP 20,235 (still have window sticker). KBB "fair" value is still $5173.

Retro Wrong: MotorWeek shares first unaired pilot episode

We all have to get our start somewhere though, and for the latest entry in the Retro Review series, the show is releasing its unaired pilot for the first time. Even today, the program isn't necessarily the most exciting thing on TV, but the modern incarnation looks like Top Gear compared to this original, very monotone attempt. The cars on display are more interesting from a historical aspect than actually being behind the wheel. MotorWeek puts the Chevrolet Citation and Ford Fairmont head to head. If you want to see progress in the auto industry, look here. The Fairmont manages a rousing 85 horsepower from a 3.3-liter inline six, and the Citation does only a little better with a 115-hp, 2.8-liter V6. The other highlight comes at the end when John Davis talks about the cars of the future. These include the upcoming introduction of the Ford Escort in the US and the mention of a possible gasoline-electric hybrid from General Motors. Given this pilot, it's amazing MotorWeek ever got the green light. However, if you're a fan of auto history, seeing the news from the past is always fascinating. 2015 Ford F-150 enters production
Wed, 12 Nov 2014Ford has given the F-150 a dramatic makeover for 2015, switching to an aluminum body that helps reduce weight by about 700 pounds. Because the truck is dramatically different, Ford also had to change the way it makes the F-150, so we went inside its sprawling factory in Dearborn, MI, this week to see the Blue Oval's new manufacturing techniques in action.
The company has added 850 jobs at the site and upgraded its stamping and tool and die facilities. The body shop is also modernized, and it has been fitted with 500 new robots that join the structures together. The first 2015 F-150 rolled off the line on Tuesday, and the trucks will begin arriving in dealerships in December. Get a closer look at the F-150's unique assembly process in our video.
Ford to show special edition Raptor on April 9
Mon, 01 Apr 2013There are precious few details, but what we do know is that Ford will be revealing images of "appearance upgrades" for a special-edition 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor on April 9. The slideshow will happen during a Motor Press Guild luncheon at Ford's Design Center Showroom in Irvine, California.
Without photos or further details, we're left to wonder about the extent of these changes, but aren't expecting anything too significant given the venue. Ford is understood to be revealing a next-generation F-150 with a big weight loss - as much as 700 pounds - for 2014, though it isn't yet clear if that's the truck's model year or simply its on-sale year. For at least a couple of years, Ford forums have been suggesting changes will come with the 2014 Raptor, so there could still be a bigger surprise in store. Either way, we'll know what all this means in a little more than a week. The press release below has the official details, but for the moment, we'll content ourselves by ogling the 2013 model above.
