Up for your consideration is this 2001 Ford Ranger Extended Cab, 4-Door, Rear Wheel Drive truck. It needs motor work and is NOT currently in running condition. It has a new transmission, new spark plugs and spark plug wires, untested CD player, working AM/FM radio, and will include a bed liner. Has air conditioning, but unable to test since the motor is not working. There are a few rust pits on the front bumper. There is a small chip, roughly the size of a penny, on the steering wheel cover. Great paint job, orange exterior with tan and black interior. If the previous owner supplies the bed cover (not currently photographed, but has some scratches) before auction close, I will add photographs of it and it will be included in the final sale. Overall, a great 2WD truck that needs a new motor or appropriate motor work to get it running again. |

That's true whether you're talking about a modern Dodge Charger Pursuit or, yes, the legendary Ford Mustang SSP. Former Autoblog staffer and current Road and Track web editor Zach Bowman discovered this when he shanghaied a 2015 Mustang GT and made the trip to Nashville, TN to drive the very first Mustang SSP police car. The two-tone, V8-powered prototype was delivered into the welcoming arms of the California Highway Patrol back in 1981 for evaluation. Bowman chatted up cop-car aficionado Mike Strinich, the prototype's current owner, and managed to score some seat time in the car, which provided a unique interesting contrast to the SSP's 435-horsepower junior. This vehicle, though, is one piece of forbidden fruit we aren't entirely sure we can get over. We need it.
It's called the Ford Troller T4, and if you accidentally read that as either "reborn Ford Bronco" or "Americanized Land Rover Defender," we wouldn't be rushing to correct you. It's a basic, badass SUV, and is the first new vehicle to come from Troller since Ford gobbled it up in 2007. For those with longer memories, you'll recognize this vehicle from the concept that preceded it, the Ford T-R Concept. The production model remains remarkably true to the T-R, as well as past Trollers, but it's a slightly more modern look overall, with LED taillights, contrasting colors
