2000 Ford Ranger 2wd Flareside with 4 doors and 3.0 liter engine. This is a good little truck and pulls an average of around 19 mpg with my driving habits which consist of both highway and service roads. I have had this truck for 5 years now but I have decided to upgrade to a 4wd vehicle.

First the good. I work for a Ford dealership so I stayed up on maintaining the truck and have service records to back that up. On top of the maintenance other recent service performed as follows: Rebuilt alternator, new plugs, new wires, new coil pack. The rear leaf spring shackles and brackets and hardware is all new. New brakes as well. There is no rust the body of this truck. Everything works as intended such as AC, heat, radio/cd, etc.

Now for the needs. The truck has an intermittent cylinder 5 misfire. I tried Marvel mystery oil and Seafoam additives as the technician diagnosed it as a sticking valve. Neither of these solutions have cleared it up completely. The check engine light does come on when this occurs and caused me to fail the Mass emission inspection. Also she will need a new set of tires or at least the rear ones. This said the truck runs and drives albeit not at peak performance and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere.

So if you are looking for an inexpensive truck for use around the house or work, this is it. If you would like to see any specific pictures please ask and I will take them and send them along. Also please ask any questions you may have and I will do my best to answer as quickly as possible.

Winning bid will require a 100.00 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the auction end. The rest can be paid cash in person at vehicle pickup. I would also accept a certified bank check from a known bank that I can verify funds and cash upon pickup of truck. Any other payment requests please ask before bidding. I do have a CLEAR title on this truck and that will be signed over to the winning bidder once finances have been met. I will NOT arrange transport but will work with a transport company if you chose that route. Please remember that your winning bid is a binding contract to purchase so please bid accordingly.

Thank You and happy biding!

Long winter means most automakers won't curb summer shutdown

Sun, 18 May 2014

A lot more happened during this latest brutal winter than days of snow and Netflix binges. Automotive sales took a battering. After all, going out car shopping when it's eleventy-billion degrees below zero isn't a good time.
Because of this Old Man Winter-induced sales slump, inventories are abnormally high as we head into the summer car buying season. That's led some analysts to predict that automakers will be more inclined to idle factories this summer, in a bid to trim some of the built-up inventory. Traditionally, American manufacturers offer up a two-week break in the middle of summer, although the burgeoning sales of the past few years have seen this practice become less popular.
"We're likely not going to see an acceleration this year," Jeff Schuster, a senior vice president at LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. "We'll see production increases in 'pockets' but I don't know if it will be as widespread as in recent years."

Ford recalls over 500,000 trucks and SUVs, including Explorer, F-150, and Lincoln Aviator

Fri, Aug 30 2019

For the second time in a month, Ford is recalling the brand-new 2020 Explorer and 2020 Lincoln Aviator for minor safety issues. This recall, which also affects certain 2018-2020 Ford F-150s, 2019-2020 Ford F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Ford Explorers, and 2019-2020 Ford Expeditions, pertains to potentially faulty seat-back reclining mechanisms. In total, the recall touches 550,186 vehicles. A mechanical part meant for relaxation and comfort has the Ford Motor Company stressin'. Ford says potentially affected vehicles might be missing the "third pawl required for seat-back strength" in the reclining mechanisms on certain seats. Because of this, the seats might not properly keep a person in place during the event of a crash or otherwise.  In the F-150s, F-Series Super Duty trucks, 2018-2019 Explorers, and Expeditions, the recall affects vehicles with manual driver and/or front passenger seat-back recliners. On the 2020 Explorers and Lincoln Aviators, rear outboard seats with manual recliners are of concern. Of the more than 550,000 vehicles, 483,325 vehicles are in the United States, 58,712 are in Canada and 8,149 are in Mexico. Thus far, Ford is not aware of any injuries from the issues. Ford says it expects most vehicles will not need repair, but dealers will inspect the seat structures out of precaution. If fault is found, dealers will replace the seat structure altogether. For this recall, Ford's reference number is 19C07. Contact your dealer for more information. Featured Gallery 2020 Ford Explorer View 47 Photos Recalls Ford Lincoln Truck SUV

How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be

Fri, 20 Sep 2013

Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
