Up for bids is a 1999 Ford Ranger XLT super cab 4X4 truck! This Auction is NO RESERVE so bid to win! This truck was my uncles truck, he gave it to me shortly before before he passed away. this is a good running truck just had new brakes installed on the front, just put new rear shocks on the truck. just had a new starter put in it. last winter both front hubs were replaced. all the tires hold air and still have good tread. The air conditioning blows ice cold!this comes with a spare tire, it will be in the bed when you pick it up. It has rhino liner (or something like that) on the lower panels of the truck all the way around, it really makes it look good. The passenger side outside door handle sometimes sticks so you have to make sure its pushed in when you shut it. there are some dents in the truck the biggest one in on the driver send fender but its not too bad. The radio and cd player work good, but there is no display showing on the radio. the paint on the the truck is not perfect but it looks great for its age! Truck does have a tow hitch on the back along with trailer towing plug in the back too. This truck starts, runs good, drives good. it also has four wheel drive and its an automatic transmission. This truck has two jump seats in the back too This Truck has 144,000 miles on it, the title shows 148,632 there was a typo at the title place but I didn't see it until after I left. Title is free and clear its in my name and ready for you to buy it! again this is No Reserve auction bid to win. If you don't plan on paying for it don't bid! Consumer Reports says Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevy are big winners in brand perception survey
Wed, 05 Feb 2014According to Consumer Reports, the automotive brands that stand out in the minds of car buyers are, in order: Toyota, Ford, Honda and Chevrolet. This news comes after the magazine polled its readers, asking them to take into account vehicle quality, safety, performance, value, fuel economy, design/style, and technology/innovation - which are the factors that car shoppers are most influenced by.
It's important to note that this award is only about perception. In other words, it's perceived quality, not actual quality. "Often, perception can be a trailing indicator, reflecting years of good or bad performance in a category, and it can also be influenced by headlines in the media," said Jeff Bartlett, Consumer Reports deputy automotive editor.
The brand that made the biggest jump in perception amongst Consumer Reports readers is Tesla, which posted an impressive 47-point gain to finish in fifth place. Subaru is also notable for finishing in the top 10, despite being one of the smaller manufacturers doing business in the US. Jay Leno takes a Surfin' Safari in a 1937 Ford Woodie Restomod
Tue, 21 Oct 2014Woodie wagons were a major part of surfing culture in the 1960s, offering coastal style and a ton of room, and they even earned a mention in the Beach Boys' classic song Surfin' Safari. This week, Jay Leno's Garage takes a look at two modern, restomodded examples of these style icons.
Unlike a lot of restomods, builder Scott Bonowski keeps these wagons looking almost completely stock on the outside, and all of the upgrades are hidden underneath the timber. You can't tell by looking at it, but the '37 Woodie (pictured above) has independent front and rear suspension, disc brakes and a Ford 5.0-liter V8 under the hood.
Beyond the mechanical aspect, the craftsmanship into the wood is astounding. Bonowski claims there are between 30 and 50 coats of varnish on this wagon. It makes these woodies as much of a piece of fine furniture as a vehicle to drive.
How the Ford Shelby Mustang came to be
Fri, 20 Sep 2013Even as rumors swirl that the next-generation of high-performance Ford Mustang will drop the Shelby name, Ford has released a short video telling how the legend of the Shelby Mustang came to be. In its latest installment of its video series entitled Mustang Countdown, Ford dug up some footage from Carroll Shelby to give a little insight into how this automotive icon was created.
While it's definitely interesting to hear the late legend tell the story in his own words (including numerous references to the 1964 Mustang as a "secretary's car"), it's also pretty funny learning exactly how the Shelby GT350 got its name in the first place - a name allegedly making a comeback as the replacement for the current Shelby GT500. As development work continues on the 2015 Ford Mustang, the Shelby video posted below shows that the automaker is always looking at its past - even as it looks ahead to the future.
