This1998 Ford Ranger originated here in Western North Carolina. Purchased locally and owned by an elderly gentleman since new. I have had it for about a year. The miles are absolutely original and proven by NC Inspection Records and Carfax. The driver seat had a hole in it so I had both seats professionally reupholstered. I also had more padding placed in the seats for longlife wear. They were originally tan colored. These are the original seats just reupholstered. Recent entire clutch replacement (everything) to include new shocks. I had a 2" Leveling kit installed and placed those nice Kelly tires on it to give this ranger more ground clearence and a more aggressive appearence. The truck is very dependable has never let me down once. The transmission is strong and smooth and the 4X4 works perfectly. No oil leaks, no smoke and it drives like a truck with 50K miles on it. The engine compartment is clean. The interior is basically spotless. No cracks, rips or tears. Power steering and excellent brakes. The tires have probably less than 300 miles on them. The rims are after market to accomadate the larger tires. There is a good spare mounted underneath.
The A/C is very cold and the heat is very hot. I would not hesitate to drive this truck anywhere in the United States as is. This truck needs nothing but a new owner. The truck does have pings and scratches here and there. No major dents and no visible signs of rust anywhere. The under carriage looks good with no major rust issues or other concerns. The A/C for whatever reason occaisionally blows the air out of the defroster instead of the vents. The cabin is still very comfortable when it does do this. I am not aware of any issues with this truck. I would never intentionally sell anything without fully disclosing a major issue. This truck is not perfect by far, but it gets compliments everywhere it goes. it is clean, dependable and has a great history of being well cared for and adult owned. There is a matching camper top I had painted to match that goes with the truck if you want it. It is in great shape and very useful. The truck is located 20 minutes from Asheville NC in Waynesville. I am happy to accomadate anybody to make this as pleasureable as possible. I have bought and sold big ticket items on Ebay for over ten years. My feedback is perfect due to complete honesty. These trucks are getting harder to find in this condition with this mileage. You will not be disapointed. Please ask as many questions as you like. I am sellig to buy a family member a car. If you have a clean low mileage car I am certainly open to trading and will add money to the deal if need be.

Facelifted Ford Focus caught testing in the cold
Wed, 18 Dec 2013It's that time in the life of the Ford Focus to get a little work done - a nip-tuck here, some Botox there. Yes, Ford is testing a facelifted version of its global C-segment entry, which first hit markets in Europe and North America in May 2011.
Like the touchup on the Fiesta, expect Ford's gaping grille to make its first appearance on the Focus. Our spy photographers point out that this is likely to be a more comprehensive makeover than previous spy shots suggested, based on the additional camouflage seen here on the front and rear ends of this five-door model. New head and taillights are also likely in order, as are changes to the front and rear fascia.
The interior was also snapped and features a cleaner design with a larger central display. Other than that, it looks like some buttons have been changed, making us think most of the Focus' updates are limited to the exterior.
Is Tesla's next project an F-150 competitor? [w/poll]
Wed, 13 Nov 2013What's the future look like for Tesla after it launches the Model X CUV and possibly a smaller, sub-Model S sedan? Would you believe a pickup truck? Yes, Tesla could be looking to use its EV know-how to take the fight to Ford and the F-150, based on comments made by company founder Elon Musk.
"If you're trying to replace the most gasoline miles driven, you have to look at what people are buying," Musk said during an impromptu Q&A session following a speech at Business Insider's Ignition conference. "[The F-150 is] the best selling car in America. If people are voting that's their car, then that's the car we have to deliver."
And while the idea of electric pickup may sound kind of absurd to some, Musk makes a very valid point - if Tesla's goal is to replace gas miles with electrical miles, it simply can't afford to ignore pickups.
Ex-PR chief Vines accuses Ford of bugging cars, phones
Fri, 24 Oct 2014Jason Vines, former head of communications at Ford among other automakers, is accusing the Blue Oval of bugging his company phone and his car during the Firestone tire recall for the Explorer in 2001. The allegations have come to light in Vines' upcoming book What Did Jesus Drive? Crisis PR in Cars, Computers and Christianity.
According to The Detroit News, which has an advance copy of the book, Vines (pictured above) claims that after leaving the company, someone with security within Ford advised him that he had been bugged around the time of the recall. The allegations don't stop there, though. Vines further contends that he might not have been the only one to get this treatment, noting that then-general counsel John Rintamaki also believed he was being listened to.
According to The Detroit News, even if it had been a company phone, recording Vines without his knowledge still would have been a felony under Michigan law.
