Frankford, Delaware, United States
You are looking at a 1996 Ford Ranger Extended
Cab Pickup truck that has a powerful yet gas saving V6 motor and only 172,565 miles on it and
has a lot of life left in it.... It does have a bit of paint oxidation on the hood, but these spots are only cosmetic.
PERFECTLY CLEAN CARFAX AND CURRENT PA STICKER!!!! This truck was
used as a parts truck. The drivers are all took very good care
of this truck. The maintenance of this Ranger was done regularly and you can
tell this by the way it drives. In fact this truck was over maintained...A
schedule was kept and followed...If I covered up the odometer and took you for a drive and told you that
this truck had 60k on it you would believe me, by the way it drives. It is
tight on the road and drives well. Because of the miles this truck will sell
cheap. Look at what others are advertising similar pickups for...Every bit of
$5-6k. This one sold NO RESERVE. The exterior is in
decent shape but has a bit of oxidation on the hood(see
pics). The bed has a nice and durable Duraaliner. The tires are all matching radials and look
fine. Also has a FULL SIZE SPARE under the bed. The interior is
SUPER clean. The seats are comfortable and look GREAT. There is a third seat in the extended cab area (see pics) There are no odors...Comfortably seats at least 4 adults!!! The a/c blows cold and
the radio works great! The 3.0L V6 Ford Engine starts right up, has plenty of power, and sounds great. The
transmission shifts smoothly. You can switch from 2-4 Wheel Drive RIGHT INSIDE THE
CAB!! If you are looking for a reliable,
reasonable worktruck that looks great, this truck is for you!!!!! This work truck
will drive you home wherever you need to drive. We will pick you up at the

How Ford made its 2015 Ford Mustang safer for toupee wearers [w/video]
Fri, 28 Feb 2014Ford is ready to tell the story of its 2015 Mustang Convertible, the can't-miss bits being the easier, quicker and quieter roof operation, a more robust roof build for a coupe-like cabin noise, more trunk space, better visibility and reduced in-cabin buffeting. The top release system has been completely redesigned with a single, center-mounted latch on the windshield frame instead of the dual latches of before. The driver can now release the roof without having to lean over into the passenger space, after which the top goes down fully automatically with the press of a button. Ford doesn't say how long it takes to stow, but it's apparently done in half as much time as before, so figure around 8 seconds.
The roof uses a five-bow structure, with the fabric outer and full inner headliner sandwiching ten millimeters of insulation. Detailing work on the top has eliminated "unsightly folds" in the corners when the roof is up and made it more compact when down; its Z-fold assembly is 6.7 inches lower than before at its highest point when put down. Ford says the new electric drive internals make less noise when in operation, and the fully-finished droptop look is achieved with snap-in caps that flank the rear seating and stow in the trunk when not in use (the outgoing Mustang's top was higher and the front when folded and always looked like it was catching air and creating drag).
The compact roof and newly independent rear suspension setup in back means liberated trunk space, 11.4 cubic feet ready to swallow golf bags and tourist swag. You can read a lot more about it in the press release below, check it out in the short video of running footage and learn about the aerodynamic improvements made to the entire Mustang lineup that decrease drag and increase fuel economy.
Toyota, Ford decide to end hybrid collaboration before it starts
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Not all so-called Memorandum of Understanding pacts end in actual collaborations. For instance, after a two-year "feasibility study," Toyota and Ford have just announced that they will not be developing hybrid systems for use in light trucks and SUVs as previously planned, and the two automakers will instead continue to develop their own hybrid technology independently.
The would-be collaboration was first announced in August of 2011, and would have seen a rear-wheel-drive hybrid platform that would "improve the efficiency of trucks and SUVs while still allowing them to be driven in the way customers expect," according to our initial post on the topic.
Keep in mind that this announcement isn't to say we shouldn't expect hybrid pickups and SUVs from the two automakers, but that they probably aren't coming very soon - Ford says it will have a system "before the end of this decade" and we haven't heard much from Toyota on the hybrid truck front since the 2008 A-BAT Concept (pictured above) - and that they will not share any components between them (and they never have, for what it's worth).
Ford shows off V8-powered Ranger headed to Dakar Rally
Tue, 30 Jul 2013Avert your eyes now if you're jealous that the global version of the Ford Ranger is not offered in the US. Ford's midsize pickup is being tuned up to take on the 2014 Dakar Rally, and the result is a truck that is probably even cooler than any F-150 SVT Raptor we've ever seen in the States. Ford is actually building two versions of the truck for Dakar, which will run from January 5 through January 18, covering more than 5,000 miles from Argentina to Chile.
Starting with a fully composite body and a 5.0-liter V8 plucked from a Mustang, nearly every aspect of the trucks have been purpose built to take on the grueling race. This includes things like the six-speed sequential gearbox, liquid-cooled rear brakes and the 132-gallon fuel tank. As proof that Dakar is more about endurance than speed, the engines used in these race trucks will be limited to around 350 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and will max out at a top speed of just 105 miles per hour. Scroll down for Ford's official press release offering more information about the trucks and teams being prepped for Dakar.
