Hello. you are looking at a package deal on two Ford Ranger extended cab 4X4 trucks.  One is a 1987, the other a 1988.  They are both identical trucks, Both run good with the 2.9L V6 engines and both have the 5 speed manual transmissions.   I had bought the 1988 (the grey silver) truck first, and what it needs to be functional is a transmission.  When you let out the clutch, it grinds really bad, sounds like a bad bearing.  The drivers side of the box is caved in on it.  Other than these issues, the truck runs really nice.  Its a very clean solid truck for the age.  I also have included in the auction but not pictured a stepside box from a newer later 90s style Ranger that I was going to put on this truck and paint it.   With a bit of TLC, youd have one nice clean older truck that would make a fine driver for a long time.  The other truck, the blue one is a 1987 That is really rusty and ruff.  It runs and drives good, and was recently tuned up .  I am driving this truck back and forth to work everyday, and it drives fine.  Everything works on it, except the heater core is bad.  I have a brand new heater core that goes with it.   I had origionally bought the 1987 to use as a parts truck for the 1988, to take the trans out, and make one nice truck out of the two.  WHen I drove the 1987 home It drove so nice, I figgured why part it down, so, I decided to put it on the road and run it for a while.   The 1987 truck is quite ruff, The body is shot on it, the frame has a crack in it, but there is a patch welded over it, the windshield is good, and it runs and goes down the road rather well.  The doors dont open or shut very well.    There is a 1988 Factory Manual that goes with both trucks, a Chiltons book, and a Haynes book with the 2.   Also new heater core, and a new set of front and rear shoes as well.   So, In this auction you get a 1988 Ford Ranger extended cab 4X4 that just needs a transmission to be driveable, a 1987 Ford Ranger 4X4 thats ruff but can be driven as is, and a stepside box from a late 90s Ranger as well as some repair manuals, and a few spare goodies.  There is a lot to work with here.  If you have any questions, please call or text Chris at 810-656-7496.  My starting bid is my lowest price I will take for the pair.  I will not separate, it all goes as one lot.   I have both trucks for sale locally and I reserve the right to end the auction early.  Both trucks have clear Michigan titles.   Payment in full is due within 7 days of auction end, no exceptions.  I will continue to drive the 1987 Ranger untill auction has ended.  Buyer has 90 Days to pick up the trucks after auction end.  If you pay by check or Money order, Trucks are not to leave untill the check or money order clears my bank. You are buying both as is.  Trucks are in Silverwood, Mi. 48760.   An hour and a half north of Detroit.  Thanks for looking, please see my other auctions.  No sales outside the USA please God Bless.

Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017

Tue, Feb 17 2015

Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).

Enterprise working with renter's insurance to cover $47k Mustang stolen from its lot

Sat, 11 Jan 2014

There was more than a bit of public indigence following the recent story of Enterprise Rent-A-Car billing a customer $47,000 to replace a Ford Mustang GT Convertible stolen from a Nova Scotia lot. To recap: Kristen Cockerill rented the Mustang for two days, returned it to the lot on a Sunday and left the keys in a secure dropbox only for Enterprise employees to find the car gone the next day.
Despite Enterprise policies stating that customers are responsible for vehicles dropped on off-days, the company has admitted that the situation could've been handled a bit better.
In a recent statement, Enterprise has backed off the big-bill story, and claims to be working with Cockerill and her insurance company to resolve the issue. Further, the Enterprise general manager overseeing Nova Scotia has spoken with the harried renter, and apologized "for the way this claim was handled during the last few months."
