Original owner. 120,000 miles. Original speedo
was replaced due to malfunction, still have it. 2.8L V6, 5 speed tranny, four wheel drive. Have all service records, owner’s manual, two sets of keys
and a Cilmer service manual. Was a daily driver for 28 years until I got my new car. Went out to start it one morning and nothing happened. Battery was strong but the engine wouldn’t crank. I don’t feel like trying to figure out what's wrong or tow it to get it fixed. I'm tired of old vehicles and having tinker with them! Have the original carpet, removed it as I got tired of
vacuuming it. Removed headliner and interior trim pieces, which I still have. Original seats, with some wear on the driver side. Alpine CDX-234 in dash CD player with external audio input
cable. Have the original dash face that had the cutout for a cassette
player. Bed liner Four wheel drive was working fine the last time I tried it
(a number of years ago). I’m told this would be a good hunting truck. Known Issues •
Won’t start •
AC runs but not cooling •
Sometimes the choke sticks • Rust in the roof •
Driver seat bottom has some wear •
Various dents and dings and paint scrapes. Some emblems missing •
Hail damage on roof, hood and tops of bed rails •
Drivers floor pan section replaced due to rust. •
Top of dashboard cracked, have a dash mat cover That’s about all I can remember after 29 years of ownership. Feel free to ask any questions, I’ll try to answer the best I can. Hope it finds a good home, it has served me well. UPDATE-this is a relist. Don't play games and bid if you're not serious about buying this truck, thank you. |

New car market raining on convertibles' parade
Mon, 08 Jul 2013Whether fitted with soft or hard folding lids, today's droptops are better than ever for year-round motoring. Advancements in power top mechanisms, sealing, aerodynamics, structural rigidity, rollover safety and creature comforts like heated and cooled seats mean that modern convertibles are more versatile and better to drive than ever before. Yet the segment's sales took a dive during the recession and haven't come back, Automotive News reports.
Part of that is because automakers are looking at today's more sensible buyers and simply not developing as many new models, and that lack of fresh iron is curbing sales. AN cites R.L. Polk data which notes that only about one percent of new vehicles registered in the US last year had tops that folded. Back in 2009, it was 1.4 percent, and it was 2 percent in 2006. All-in, some 151,636 convertibles were registered in 2012. That's more units more than were registered in each of the past three years, but the market has also grown as the economy has picked up speed, and as a percentage of new vehicles purchased, convertible sales are lagging.
Thus far in 2013, the Ford Mustang is America's top-selling convertible, with 6,421 units registered through the end of April, followed by its rival, the Chevrolet Camaro, at 4,751 units. The Volkswagen Beetle isn't far behind, with 4,305, but from that point, it's a steep drop off to the fourth-place Mercedes-Benz SL-Class and its 2,380 sales.
Watch this lead sled go rallying in Finland
Thu, 19 Jun 2014Custom cars generally fit into neat little boxes in terms of how they are used. For example, you're unlikely to see a modded Corvette going rock crawling; it's just not what it's made for (though we bet it'd look awesome, for a minute). In the same way, chopped, channeled and customized '50s hot rods aren't really meant to go racing. They look great and go fast, but they are generally more cruisers than sports cars.
However, if this video is any indication, the people of Finland don't adhere in these stereotypes, because this rodder is happy to play in the dirt with his lead sled.
According to the video, the driver is a member of the Ford-Freak Club of Finland, and he clearly knows how to have some fun. Possibly inspired by his country's great rally drivers, he gets the tail way out going around this gently curving gravel track. The stunt is somewhat reminiscent of the stock cars races on the sand at Daytona Beach, and this is probably close to what it sounded like too. Scroll down to watch a very cool Finn getting his hot rod a little dirty.
Ford barely edges surging Chrysler for Canadian sales crown in best year ever
Thu, Jan 8 2015The auto industry in the US showed strong results through much of 2014 with sales regularly growing year-over-year for many brands. That same trend carried over in the Great White North, as well. Canada posted its best numbers ever with 1.85 million units sold, up about 100,000 vehicles over 2013. The country nearly had a new market leader, too. The big winner among our neighbors to the north in 2014 was Ford with 291,951 vehicles sold, up 3 percent from 2013, according to Reuters. That success also handed the company the sales crown for the fifth consecutive year. In large part, the strong result came from the company's popular trucks, which represented about 80 percent of overall sales. "Ford moved into the number one position in September and didn't look back," said a note to clients by DesRosiers Automotive Consultants quoted by Reuters. However, the Blue Oval didn't exactly take an overwhelming lead for the year. The company nearly had to hand over the sales trophy to FCA after the company rallied in the latter part of the year. The Italian-American conglomerate had its best results ever to nip at the Ford's heels and move 290,004 units for 2014, a 12-percent improvement from last year. Jeep especially helped the bottom line with over 50-percent growth, according to Reuters. Only two other brands were able to break the 200,000-vehicle barrier in Canada for 2014. General Motors came in third place overall with 249,800 sales, up 6.3 percent. The combined Toyota and Lexus also barely jumped the hurdle with 200,851 units moved, a 2.8 percent improvement.
