Daytona Beach, Florida, United States
Attention Global Vintage Ford Collectors! Contact Clint for more info at 610-763-8277 For your consideration is this extremely rare 1972 Ford Ranchero GT. This car has quite a story. This is a ONE OWNER “Barn Find” out of North Carolina that still retains its original sheet metal, floors, engine, transmission, and rear!! Special ordered with a Mustang Mach 1 Drive train V8 351 Cleveland 4bbl with a Hurst 4 speed on the floor manual transmission, and a Ford 9” Posi Rear!! This is an unrestored survivor with original paperwork including original manual, Protect-o-plate, warranty identification card, Ford Clear envelope, and other dealer flyers and disclaimers. Even have the original auto insurance policy from American Family Insurance, Sheldon DeWitt, Agent, Longmont Colorado. Special ordered and purchased new from Stan Bennett Ford in Longmont, Colorado on July 27, 1972. Shortly after the purchase, the owner relocated to North Carolina where the car remained until just a few months ago. Since I have acquired the car, I have gone through to make roadworthy. New Edelbrock 650 Carburetor, Brake service, new Battery. I have been driving it locally, and it’s an absolute blast to drive. It is such a solid car that would be perfect and relatively easy to restore back to its former glory. Or, just drive it the way it is! The body is extremely solid. No shoddy patchwork, Bondo or body filler. All original sheet metal. If you wanted to paint the vehicle, it’s literally a sand and shoot. The paint has some chips and battle scars from over the years, but still shows well for a barn find driver!! It's not a show car by any means, but original patina is hard to find with something of this age. Please note there is some bubbling occurring under the vinyl top. As you can see from the pictures, the undercarriage is very solid as well. All original floors. No holes, soft spots, or major rust. The light factory undercoat definitely preserved this vehicle. Mechanically, the engine fires right up every single time. It has a nice purr like a 351 Cleveland should. Free from ticks or tapping. Does not smoke at idle or under acceleration. The transmission shifts as it should through all 4 gears. No grinding or chattering from the gears or clutch. The ride and handling is quite surprising! It’s very tight and drives straight down the road. No shimmy's, shakes, rattles, vibrations, or drifting. Factory power steering and power disc brakes add to the drivability factor with this Ford. All of the lights, turn signals, dash lights, and gauges are in working order, and appear to be accurate! Factory Tachometer, Speedometer, temp, volt, pressure gauges function. Even the seat belt indicator still buzzes! Radio and speakers work as well. Whether you are a rare Ford car collector or aficionado, collect original patina vehicles, are looking for a muscle car to finish off and restore to your taste, or just looking for a driver to take to car shows and win trophies for its rarity and originality, then take a serious look at this Ranchero! Such a rare car, and a great opportunity to obtain a real piece of history! VIN- 2 -1972 A - Atlanta Assembly Plant. Q – 351 V8 321168 – Production Number. Body – 97R – Ranchero. Vehicle is sold AS-IS, NO Warranties Expressed or Implied. I have a clean clear title for this vehicle. If you have less than 5 feedback, please email prior to bidding. Please ask any questions prior to bidding. Don't assume anything. This is a legal binding contract. If you are the winning bidder, you are obligated to complete the purchase. You are not bidding on the opportunity to come and look at the vehicle and decide if you want to purchase the item! Also, please have all financing or funds in place prior to bidding. In other words, ask your wife first!! $1,000.00 Deposit due within 24 hours of auction close. Balance due within 7 days of auction close. PLEASE NOTE: If you pay by a certified check, vehicle WILL NOT be released until funds have cleared my banking institution!! Which typically takes 7 days. I urge everyone to take a look at my feedback. Bid with confidence! It was 100% until a few weeks ago, when a malicious ebayer left me negative feedback over a $45.00 die cast model car! Apparently, a windshield wiper was damaged in shipping overseas. I attempted to rectify the situation, but the buyer would not respond or contact me at all, and left me negative feedback! Located in Daytona Beach, Florida, 32118. Minutes from major route 95 on the northeast coast of Florida. 10 minutes from (DAB)-Daytona Beach International Airport. 70 miles to (MCO)-Orlando or (SFB)-Sanford International Airports. I will assist with selling worldwide, but payment and arrangements are buyer’s responsibility. I have used several shipping companies in the past, and can recommend shippers to contact, or can be arranged right through ebay and their recommended carriers. Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
Unrestored 1969 Shelby GT500 one of many classic barn finds going to auction
Wed, 19 Mar 2014We love a good barn find here at Autoblog. We like that there's a palpable excitement and sense of mystery surrounding barn finds. Each case has its own uniqueness to it, and this latest discovery is no different: an unrestored, one-owner 1969 Shelby GT500 with just 8,531 miles on it.
In the case of this particular barn find, many of the typical questions have already been answered. For example, we know who owned it - his name was Larry Brown. He recently passed away, and as he had no wife or children to inherit the estate, the car he purchased at Pennsylvania Ford dealer in May of 1969, will be auctioned off by Ron Gilligan Auctioneers.
The car was fastidiously maintained, having never been driven in the rain. In fact, Brown never even washed it, out of fear of it rusting. According to the auction website, the last time this car saw water was probably when it was detailed ahead of being delivered to Brown. If that doesn't sound like a fanatical sense of maintenance on the part of this GT500's owner, this next part will. The interior has been treated to a similarly painstaking attempt at preservation, with garbage bags covering the seats and two layers of floor mats over the carpets. The result is a car that, aesthetically, is in remarkable shape considering it's spent so long in a barn.
2014 Ford Fiesta ST
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Concentrated ST Formula Proves Just As Potent
I'm not the jealous type... usually. But I will fully admit to being somewhat of a Pouty Polly when I read executive editor Chris Paukert's report after driving the then-new 2013 Ford Focus ST through the impossibly pretty southern French Alps region last June. I feel like a broken record saying this yet again, but hot hatchbacks hold a special place in my heart. And while I'm always giddy to drive any sort of small, turbocharged three- or five-door at home in Detroit, my jealousy was indeed piqued after hearing Paukert tell about the challenging yet breathtaking roads he encountered while driving the flamin' yellow Focus. You know, the sort of roads that, from above, look like carelessly drizzled lines of icing on the frosted Alpen caps.
Several months later, I found myself piloting a Focus ST just west of metro Detroit, pitting it head-to-head against one of Autoblog's perennial favorite cars, the Volkswagen GTI. It was fantastic - enough so that I fully stand behind my statement that in terms of balls-out performance, the Focus ST cannot be beat as far as today's front-wheel-drive hatches are concerned.
