This is a very solid daily driver Ranchero, the 351 windsor and 2 barrel with the FMX trans runs and drives real smooth. The car had a small carb fire about 2 1/2 years ago and I've been sanitizing it back to stock condition since. Body is straight with no rust holes. Interior is near perfect, has seat covers on the factory buckets but I've never taken them off. Dash pad no tears or splits and the dash is in one piece and not chopped up. The speedometer shows 77K but could be 177K, motor does not smoke or leak.
There is one small spot of surface rust on front bumper chrome and tailgate. It has fairly recent new dual exhaust with cats, class packs and pipes out the sides behind rear wheels. It also has the factory 14" magnum 500 rally wheels. This Ranchero is pretty much factory stock with the exception of the door speakers and a factory type AM/FM cassette radio. Also has a hard tonoe cover that needs a latch for the lock. Although this a factory GT Broughm, it did not come equipped with tilt wheel, P/W, PDL or power seat. New parts installed are windshield Battery Regulator headlight switch front brake calipers, master cylinder, hose's and pads 2 ported vacuum switch's high pressure a/c hose 2 cooper cobra tires (front) A $500 deposit will be required upon successful bidding and purchaser is responsible for shipping cost. |

Project Ugly Horse: Part IX
Thu, 20 Jun 2013One Step at a Time
Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
Hot Wheels' 2022 Green Speed cars bring EVs to small scale
Sun, Apr 24 2022With more and more EVs hitting the market, it was only a matter of time before the new breed of cars would find representation in diecast form. For 2022, Hot Wheels is coming out with a new Green Speed series that puts the spotlight on a diverse lineup of electric cars. The five-car series features a fun mix of EVs from different manufacturers and in a wide range of styles. Some are completely bone stock. For a traditional luxury sedan, there's a Lucid Air in silver, complete with glass (or in this case, clear plastic) canopy. For fans of Teutonic 4-door "coupes" there's the Audi RS e-Tron GT in Daytona Gray. Ticking the truck box is a Hummer EV in a yellow that can only be described as a throwback to the H3. But because this is Hot Wheels, there are "hot-rodded" variants in the lineup as well. Rather than just a regular Nissan Leaf, they've elected to cast the carbon fiber-bodied NISMO RC 2.0 race car. Likewise with Ford, instead of the standard Mustang Mach-E, they've gone with the Mustang Mach-E 1400 drift car. This isn't the first time Hot Wheels has put out a Green Speed series. The line debuted in 2016 but reflected the limited EV choices in the real car market at the time. The only non-fantasy cars in the series were a first-gen Tesla Roadster, a Tesla Model S, and Chevy Volt. Hot Wheels revisited the line again in 2019, this time adding a Tesla Model 3 and a Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid Sport Turismo. Hot Wheels also makes other mini EVs that don't fall into this specific line of models. If you want to collect 'em all, there's the second-generation Tesla Roadster concept, Cybertruck, Jaguar I-Pace, Pininfarina Battista, Porsche Taycan, and a Volkswagen ID R. Similarly, Matchbox has released a version of the Tesla Roadster with sustainable packaging to boot. If you must have an old school gasoline burner, Hot Wheels has plenty of options for you too, like, say, this snazzy FJ60 Toyota Land Cruiser. The 2022 Hot Wheels Green Speed series should be on shelves at your local retailers now. Related Video:
40+ cars that barely avoid the gas guzzler tax
Thu, 24 Jul 2014
The Gas Guzzler schedule, with mpg ratings and charges that haven't changed since 1991, lays out which fuel-swillers owe what to Uncle Sam.
I started thinking about the "Gas Guzzler Tax" - considerably less well known as The Energy Tax Act of 1978 - when I was driving Dodge's new Challenger SRT Hellcat last week. Unsurprisingly for a car that can burn 1.5 gallons of gas per minute at max tilt, theoretically able to empty a full tank of premium in about 13 minutes, the Hellcat will be subject to the Gas Guzzler Tax schedule when it goes on sale.
