Offered For Sale is this Nice 1979 Ford Ranchero GT with 98k Original Miles on the 351 V-8 Power Plant. This belonged to an 80 Year Old Retired Mechanic Who Passed Away Late Last Year, And I Bought It From His Estate. Clear Title, Not Salvage. It has Great Body And Paint except for a couple spots on the passenger side that have very small areas of primer. Inside has an Interior That was redone at a cost of $900.00 and New Mufflers and Pipes with Chrome Tips that were $600.00 ($1,500.00 ) The Bed looks like new, no dents, no rust, nice and clean paint overall. Just went for a 40+ Mile Ride yesterday and it purred down the Highway. Heat Works, Horn and Lights, No Radio, Didn't Try The Cruise Or A/C. You can tell this Ranchero was babied and cared for. I wanted to keep it and add it to my collection, but it has been pointed out to me that we have 5 cars here, and in my enthusiasm for this nice ride I didn't take that into consideration. So reluctantly and so I can keep my 1962 T-Bird, and since I had to choose, this one will have to go. I also have a 1972 Ranchero so you see something has to go. Take a look at the pictures, I have a reasonable Reserve so I am hoping it will go to someone who would appreciate it. I can also get it to the nearest shipping facility in the Seattle area for you if you choose to have it shipped. I will work with you. I will hold the vehicle as well for a couple weeks if you need time. After that if you have not contacted me and picked the car up then you will forfeit the deposit of $200.00 which is due no more than 48 hours at auction end. I am selling the vehicle As-Is No Warranty Expressed Or Implied, and have done my best to describe and photograph it as accurately as possible. Please ask questions and make sure this is the vehicle you want. No Refunds, All Sales Are Final!! It is 34 years old and not a brand new car. If you choose to drive it from the West Coast to the East Coast or through Pike's Peak it's a great running car and I am pretty sure it can drive anywhere, but I won't make any Guarantees like that. I am just being realistic. Thank You and Happy Bidding!! If Paying Via Bank Draft, Please Note Nothing Will Be Released Until Funds are Verified and Cleared, Not Before Then!!!

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 has a bit of a dyno issue
Tue, 28 May 2013We're of the mind that each and every dyno should come with Murphy's Law painted in big, visible letters down the side. For every ten successful dyno runs out there, it seems there's one where events to horribly wrong. Take, for example, the video below. The clip shows what happens when a Ford Shelby GT500 and a mobile dyno have a bit of a disagreement at the Performance Expo 24 in Sherbrooke, Quebec. We won't spoil the results for you, but we will say there's some substantial carnage involved.
It's unclear just how much damage ensues from the dust up or whether anyone was harmed in the incident, but from the looks of things, everyone made it out without serious injury. If only we could say the same for the machines involved. Check out the video below.
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
Uber releases fleet of self-driving vehicles to select few in Pittsburgh
Wed, Sep 14 2016Starting today, a select group of Uber users in Pittsburgh, PA will have the ability to request a self-driving vehicle. If a self-driving vehicle is in the area, Uber will send it, as well as a safety driver, to drive loyal customers to their destination. The announcement to give customers the opportunity to get a ride in one of Uber's self-driving vehicles comes roughly a year and a half after the company set up its Advanced Technologies Center in the city. On Tuesday, the company offered a few members of the press the opportunity to ride in one of the company's self-driving cars. The fleet, despite Uber's collaboration with Volvo, was comprised of 14 Ford Fusions equipped with a host of self-driving technology, reports TechCrunch. Uber is giving away free rides as a way to obtain real-world testing, which is crucial for self-driving technology. Recently, nuTonomoy beat Uber to the punch by launching the world's first autonomous taxis in Singapore. While the choice to release its self-driving cars in Pittsburgh mainly comes down to the fact that its ATC is located there, the city faces four seasons and its difficult streets that are comprised of bridges, railroad lines, and an irregular grid layout will prove to be a challenge for the autonomous cars. Since the self-driving vehicles are still being tested, the cars will come with two full-time Uber employees. One employee will loosely grasp the car's steering wheel, ready to take over if something goes awry, while the other will monitor the computer's software. As TechCrunch points out, Uber's autonomous vehicles drove in a similar manner to a regular driver. It obeyed traffic laws, mimicked a driver by coming to stops gently and at other times abruptly, as well as driving slightly into another lane to dodge a poorly-parked vehicle, reports TechCrunch. There's no word on whether regular Uber customers will get a ride in one of the company's Fusions or one of the Volvo's that its working on. Automakers and companies alike have been in a race to put autonomous vehicles on the road. Tesla recently updated its Autopilot system, Apple laid off dozens of employees to reboot its self-driving car project, and Google is working giving its autonomous vehicle the ability to detect emergency vehicles. While this is a large step for Uber, vehicles with autonomous capabilities still have a long way to go.
