1976 Ford Ranchero Gt Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 7.5l on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
This is a 1976 Ford Ranchero GT w/ a 460ci Engine and Automatic Transmission. Mileage is unknown, as it didn't come with gauges when purchased. Was told it ran great prior to its start of reconditioning. It was picked up as a project to finish, but financial issues require me to sell it. The paint is Two (2) years old and looks nice, but has a couple small areas that need attention (Small gritty spots). The floor pans were redone by the previous owner, but need to be trimmed and welding completed on a few sections underneath. The seats and door panels have been re-upholstered, New radiator w/ Dual Fans, New Steering Wheel, New Distributor, New Plugs, New Wires, Edelbrock 750 CFM Performer Carburetor, Edelbrock Intake Manifold, New Battery, New Gauges, and New Wiring Harness being installed as we speak (still in progress). Car is very clean underneath, and the bed was recoated. Hood and Drivers Door needs slight adjustment, and Fuel Tank has been dropped and cleaned (ready to reinstalled). The Bumpers, Tail Lights, and Side Markers are original and show some age. This is an excellent candidate to finish what I've started, as there is not much left to do. The vehicle needs Dash Pad, Wheel Well Molding, Bed Molding, tires, rims, carpet, headliner, and a few dash components (AC Vents, Radio, ect).

Motorweek goes retro with '80s hot hatch shootout
Mon, 03 Nov 2014Motorweek's decades of history on television make it the perfect medium to look back into the automotive past and see how things are different now. It recently added old road test videos to its YouTube channel of the Acura NSX and Toyota Supra, as well as the Ferrari F40. For one of its newest flashback clips, Motorweek has exhumed an affordable five-car challenge of 1986's premiere hot hatches.
By today's standards, this is an eclectic field that features fondly remembered classics like the Volkswagen GTI 16-valve and Acura Integra. However, it also throws in some nearly forgotten contenders like the Dodge Colt Turbo and Ford Escort GT. The angular Toyota Corolla FX16 GT-S rounds out the group.
It's fascinating to watch Motorweek run the quintet through the slalom, down the drag strip and on various roads. What's most striking in this clip is the difference in the definition of a performance car between then and now. With its 16-valve, 1.8-liter four-cylinder, the GTI is the burliest of the contenders with 123 horsepower, but it still takes 8.8 seconds to reach 60 miles per hour. By today's standards, that would make it a plain-jane economy car, and not even a particularly quick one.
Ford pits The Stig against Gran Turismo 6 in Focus ST Goodwood run
Thu, 03 Jul 2014The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world great automotive gatherings. So, it was the perfect event for Ford to give the refreshed 2015 Focus ST its world debut in front of a loving public. It even surprised us with a new diesel-powered version, as well.
The Blue Oval really put its focus on making the ST a better driver for this refresh. It left its 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder alone to still pump out a respectable 252 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque. The changes like a retuned front suspension, electric power steering and improved interior made the hot hatch an even better place to spend time behind the wheel.
To prove that the Focus ST is still as potent as ever, Ford set up a one-on-one race up the Goodwood Hill. But instead of putting the two cars side-by-side, former Stig from Top Gear UK, Ben Collins, piloted the real model up the course, and his rival drove the virtual version in Gran Turismo 6. The two hot hatches set off at the same time to see whether reality could beat the virtual world, and the finish was actually extremely close. Scroll down to watch the video and find out the winner of this battle at Goodwood.
Ford wins second consecutive International Van of the Year award with Transit Connect
Wed, 18 Sep 2013The redesigned 2014 Ford Transit Connect isn't even on sale yet, but it's already making its presence felt around the world. At a commercial vehicle expo in Russia, the Transit Connect was named the International Van of the Year.
Ford's small work van edged out the new Mercedes-Benz Sprinter by just seven points to allow Ford to grab this honor for the second consecutive year, which it won last year with the Transit Custom. Not only does this make Ford the first to ever win the award in back-to-back years, but it's also the fifth time the automaker has won this award since 2003 (two with the Transit Connect, two with the fullsize Transit and once with the Transit Custom). Ford congratulates itself for the accomplishment in a press release posted below.
