1974 Ford Ranchero 500 Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 5.8l on 2040-cars
Oceanside, California, United States
Want to relive your high school hey-day? Want to be the coolest cat on your block? Want to redefine what it means to be a man? Well, look no farther. This is a 1974 Ford Ranchero 500. A car so manly it'll put chest hair on a woman. A car so manly it runs off of gasoline or bull shark semen. A car so manly, merely sitting in the drivers seat will burn calories off your stomach, buttocks, and all other key fat-holding receptacles with the rumble of a 351 Cleveland. Had a newly rebuilt engine and transmission 5 years ago. About 10,000 miles on the new tranny and engine. 4 years ago the shocks were replaced. Tires are great. New steering wheel. Have all the manuals. The carpet inside needs to be replaced. Though if you're into that vintage 1974 musk, you may keep it. Rides nice and is reliable, but is definitely a project. Would love it to fall into the hands of someone who will love it and take care of it as much as I did. Hate to see it go, but would love it to go to a good home. |

2013 Hennessey VelociRaptor 600 SUV
Thu, 13 Jun 2013Raptor, Excursion, Texas And Hennessey
Each of those words are synonyms for big and bold - combine all four and you've got one of the largest, most powerful and robust street-going sport utility vehicles in the world.
John Hennessey is a Texas-based tuner known for creating some of the fastest and most capable cars on the planet. Over the past two decades, machines like the Viper Venom 550, Ford GT 1000 Twin Turbo, HPE 700 LS9 Camaro and the almighty Venom GT have emerged from the Hennessey Performance garage. And those are just the celebrated flagships; the company has modified thousands of other street cars including those from Audi, Bentley, Cadillac, Ferrari, Ford, Porsche and Toyota, to name a few.
Ford tells Congress it collects and protects some driver data
Fri, 14 Feb 2014Last month Ford's Jim Farley made waves at the CES when it was reported he told show attendees, "We have GPS in your car, so we know what you're doing. By the way, we don't supply that data to anyone." Farley and Ford later partially retracted and clarified that statement.
Spurred by a desire for further transparency on data collection policies, Ford representatives answered questions from Congress, specifically Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.), about driver privacy.
The Detroit News reports that Ford told Congress it does collect some vehicle location data in an effort to "troubleshoot and improve our products" on behalf of the driver. Ford went on to say that it only collects limited data after receiving permission from owners.
Long winter means most automakers won't curb summer shutdown
Sun, 18 May 2014A lot more happened during this latest brutal winter than days of snow and Netflix binges. Automotive sales took a battering. After all, going out car shopping when it's eleventy-billion degrees below zero isn't a good time.
Because of this Old Man Winter-induced sales slump, inventories are abnormally high as we head into the summer car buying season. That's led some analysts to predict that automakers will be more inclined to idle factories this summer, in a bid to trim some of the built-up inventory. Traditionally, American manufacturers offer up a two-week break in the middle of summer, although the burgeoning sales of the past few years have seen this practice become less popular.
"We're likely not going to see an acceleration this year," Jeff Schuster, a senior vice president at LMC Automotive, told The Detroit News. "We'll see production increases in 'pockets' but I don't know if it will be as widespread as in recent years."
