I bought this several years ago,at an auction. It was being sold by the estate of the owner.I found registrations all the way back into the 60s'.I believe this is a 2 owner car, him, and I.At one point he decided high back bucket seats would be cool, so he put them in.I have a set of the correct ,original seats,(need to be recovered/foam),that will be included in sale.It sits very straight, the bed is straight, and drives very straight. It starts well, drives well, and shifts well.I would NOT drive this without going through the brakes. Other than that,it seems road worthy.I put on new shocks,(period correct Delco Pleasurisers),and a new starter,(bad bendix),and changed the oil, with a Motocraft filter.

The neat thing about this car is that it is ALL there. It has factory in dash air conditioning,(the belt is off,but compressor turns freely),power steering, power drum brakes,AM radio, console, and was originally an XL.It has not been altered,(bucket seat swap/radiator overflow), or wrecked anywhere, other than minor dings, and an "Earl Scheib" paint,a long time ago.Quarters are solid,a little rust behind the doors, and the window scraper outside seals are shot,so water got in the bottoms of both doors, and they needpatch panels,or replacement.I have a PERFECT pair of totally rust/corrosion free doors, that will go with the car if buy it now is selected.I have had this in indoor dry storage, since I bought it,and now realize I have too many projects, that I don't have time to complete. There is a Marti report in pictures.
This was a gentelmans driver, and not a hauler/work truck. It came from Washington state, so has humidity/surface corroding, but is solid.Ask any questions,I will answer honestly. Thanks for lookin'.

Toyota Camry, Honda Civic inventories mounting as US automakers make inroads

Thu, 11 Jul 2013

Two of the hottest-selling cars in America aren't quite as hot as they used to be. The Toyota Camry and Honda Civic are both seeing dealer supplies increase in the face of renewed competition from the much-improved Detroit Three.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the Camry's dealer inventory is 15 days higher than its seasonal average, while the Civic is 25 days above average. Things aren't expected to get better for Toyota and Honda, as RBC Capital Markets analyst Joseph Spak marked the two Japanese offerings as "at risk for reduced output."
The Detroit Three, meanwhile, are seeing supplies dwindle as demand increases, especially for the Ford Fusion, which has seen an 18-percent increase in 2013 sales, and the Chevrolet Cruze, which was second only to the Camry in June 2013 sales.

Ford reveals all-new Everest SUV at Asia-Pacific forum [w/poll]

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

While the Explorer may have shifted from a truck-based sport-ute to a car-based crossover, Ford still offers buyers on the other side of the Pacific a Ranger-based SUV in the form of the Everest. And at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Beijing today, the Blue Oval revealed the all-new version you see here.
Previewed in concept form over a year ago and made specifically for the Asia-Pacific market, the new Ford Everest is designed to be more refined on the road and more capable off of it. Like the Explorer once was, the new Everest is based on a stretched version of the overseas Ford Ranger pickup. Depending on the specific market, Ford will offer the new Everest with a range of engines including a 2.0-liter EcoBoost turbo four and two Duratorq turbodiesels - a 2.2-liter four and a 3.2-liter inline-five - mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
Earmarked to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser Prado (known in these parts as the Lexus GX) and the Jeep Grand Cherokee, the new Everest promises rock-crawlers even better off-road capabilities. It's got nearly nine inches of ground clearance, over 30 inches of wading depth, a 29-degree approach and 25-degree departure angles and a set of features including on-the-fly adjustable four-wheel drive.

2015 Ford F-150 [w/videos]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

To learn more about the all-new 2015 F-150 and get an early read on its potential hero-or-zero status, we flew to the heart of full-size pickup truck country, San Antonio, TX, to spend a day driving, towing and playing in the mud with an assortment of Ford's innovative new trucks.
First, a caveat - while we feel we have a reasonably good handle on the new F-150 after attending this first-drive event, we are far from ready to pass definitive judgment on the success of this radically new rig. Our time in the various models was lamentably limited and we felt rushed. With so much at stake and with so much to talk about and experience, we had zero alone time with the vehicle - there were Ford folks shadowing us at every moment.
And we still don't know everything there is to know about the trucks, as Ford is withholding some of its most crucial numbers, including curb weight data and anticipated EPA fuel economy figures. We don't even have a firm on-sale date. All of this information is typically disclosed - or at least officially estimated - at the time of a new vehicle's first drive. This limits the scope of the judgments we feel comfortable making based on our first encounter.
