It is about 95% road ready. the only issues with the engine is the carb, it has the smaller one from the original 170 and has a plugged idle circuit,I have the carb for the 200 but it needs a rebuild and needs the truck set up for a cable throttle. still has the 3 on the tree, as to condition of the trans and rear end I do not know as I never had it on the road. seats and armrests are from a 93 escort and still needs seat belts. overall the ranchero looks it's age. glass is good as are the doors. the cardboard parts are gone like the glove compartment and heater plenum."

I started this project over a year ago. In the past year I have replaced the original steel head gasket with a new one and replaced the valve stem seals, valve cover gasket and exhaust gasket. new master cylinder and brakes all around including all hardware and adjusting wheels. both front brake hoses were also replaced. new battery tray, fresh oil with new filter, air cleaner, plugs, points, cap, radiator and fuel caps, hoses, alt belt, and cleaned it up a bit. the engine has 60k on it and still has the crosshatch marks on the cylinder walls. it should have many miles left in it. added a new glass pack muffler so it's not very quiet. My receipts add up to about $1.000 so I may have missed some things, the door panels I made and have patterns for the kick panels and lower pillar covers, they just need finished. all the new parts have "0" miles on them. i start and move the truck in the yard on occasion to keep it going but like I said it has not been driven by me on the road. all in all it should make a good driver/grocery getter. winner will be responsible for transport of the vehicle from this location. payment terms is $500 via pay-pal in 24 hours and remainder within 3 days. the truck is sold as-is and where-is and no warranty whatsoever. any questions just ask and I will try to answer them the best I can.

Ford recalling 126,000 Fusions and Milans over wheel separation concern

Fri, 09 Dec 2011

Ford has announced a recall of certain Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan vehicles after an investigation by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. A total of 128,616 2010 and 2011 models equipped with steel wheels may have been manufactured with wheel studs that could crack and split over time. If that happens, the vehicle may experience a wheel separation.
According to The Detroit News, the company is aware of a total of 30 wheel separation incidents, one of which occurred on the front of the vehicle. Even so, no injuries have been reported as a result of the defect.
The problem apparently stems from the fact that the mounting pads on the vehicles' steel wheels may have been faulty from the factory. In addition, the wheel mounting face on rear disc brakes may not have been installed properly. Ford will inspect the rear disc face and replace them as necessary. In addition, the company will replace all of the vehicle's wheel studs free of charge. Head to the NHTSA website for more information, and click past the jump to view the full recall notice.

MyFord Touch getting buttons and knobs back to counter criticisms

Mon, 17 Jun 2013

Ford deserves credit for being a front-runner in offering advanced infotainment technology with its Sync and MyFord Touch systems, but continued consumer complaints over its confusing touchscreen interface and capacitive controls has made the automaker relent. The Wall Street Journal reports that physical buttons and knobs for controlling tuning and volume will be coming back to Ford vehicles equipped with the controversial infotainment system.
The 2013 F-150 with MyFord Touch gives us a glimpse of what the new layout with buttons and knobs might look like, as Ford says a similar balance of touch screen capability and buttons/knobs are what's being planned for future models. And, while capacitive controls have no fans in the halls of Autoblog, many of Ford's models with MyFord Touch do have a large physical knob for adjusting volume with integrated buttons for tuning and advancing tracks, though most of those are models with the optional upgraded Sony Audio system. Lincoln models with MyLincoln Touch, however, feature only capacitive controls for all stereo and climate functions.
Despite receiving enough complaints to throw buttons and knobs back into the mix (a move that reminds us of BMW's iDrive trajectory, among others), Ford reports that Sync and MyFord Touch have still been sold on 79 percent of its 2013 model year vehicles, a number it claims is double the rate that Honda and Toyota are getting for their infotainment systems. Ford also states that owners who do opt for the duo of technologies are more satisfied with overall vehicle quality than those who don't have it.

Ford mulling EcoSport for US? [w/poll]

Mon, 03 Jun 2013

"We certainly have that ability. We're studying it very, very closely." Those are the words of Jim Farley, global head of sales, marketing, service at Ford. The investigation Farley is referring to is the possibility of selling the company's new EcoSport crossover in America.
The diminutive Fiesta-based EcoSport was developed for emerging markets like Brazil and, more recently, China, but it apparently may have a future in the States, where it would form a new entry-level rung below the Escape in Ford's already robust crossover stable. Ford has big plans for its tiny CUV - Farley tells Automotive News that the EcoSport is only available in 10 countries right now, but by 2017, its distribution will have mushroomed to 62 countries. At the time the second-generation model launched at the 2012 Beijing Motor Show as a 2013 model, Ford said the EcoSport would eventually be sold in nearly 100 markets worldwide.
The Brazilian- and Indian-assembled EcoSport is available with a variety of gasoline-powered engines, but the 1.0-liter, three-cylinder EcoBoost giving 118 horsepower and 125 pound-feet of torque would seem to be the powertrain of choice for America, as it was recently confirmed for the stateside 2014 Fiesta.
