1963 Ford Ranchero V8 - Super Fast And Clean - 5,242 Miles - Must See And Drive! on 2040-cars
Cleveland, Ohio, United States
5,242 miles (not actual) $1500 aluminum drive shaft C4 Transmission $800 Functional Fiberglass Hood Disc brakes Headers Dual exhaust Drag bars $800 aluminum radiator Special racing rear end Rebuilt engine with special heads and cam Electronic ignition Large carbonator Stereo system w/ CD player Hi, you’re looking at one beautiful, super fast 1963 Ford Ranchero. We purchased this car from a gentleman who is a certified GM mechanic with 40 years of experience. He built the entire car himself, spending over $12,000 for materials. He spent many years to complete the project. He took this Ranchero to car shows, and enjoyed it for a few summers. He sold the car because he is starting new projects on other cars, and now you have the opportunity to own this clean, crisp newly-built Ranchero. The doors have been shaven. The gas door also is shaved and is now located in the bed of the truck for safety. It has all new gauges. The body, as you can see in the pictures, is very, very clean. There is nearly no rust on the car. The underneath the car, as shown in the photos, is clean and solid. The interior was re-done from top to bottom and it makes an old car feel like new. It also has nice tires and wheels, as shown in the pictures. When this thing starts and runs, it’s not that loud, but it sounds really healthy. The transmission shifts correctly (and that was also re-built of course). All you have to do to enjoy this fine driving machine is to put the key in and go. This is a no-reserve auction, which means that when the auction is over, the last highest bidder wins the Ranchero. Everyone who sees this car absolutely loves it. It’s just not something that you see every day. That’s what makes it special and unique. If you have any questions about the car, feel free to call Lou Davis anytime at 216-210-8488. We are selling this car as-is because we are not a dealer, and we’re not offering a warranty. We encourage all bidders to either personally stop out or check the car out for themselves, or send a certified mechanic from the area to give you a complete report on the car’s condition. When the car is sold after 7 days, please call Lou in the morning to make arrangements to complete this deal. We only accept cash or wire transfers. We do not accept Paypal, charge cards or checks. We would like the car picked up within 7 days of auction ending because we would like to have the room, but we are keeping the car safe for you inside of a locked space. If the buyer has not contacted us within 24 hours of the auction ending we will offer it to the bidder below them as a Second Chance Offer. Thanks again for looking and reading, and good luck bidding. CLICK HERE TO VIEW DOZENS OF ADDITIONAL PHOTOS OF THIS BEAUTIFUL CAR! |

All the details on Plug In 2014 electric vehicle conference you could ever want
Wed, Aug 6 2014One of the best parts of the Plug In 2014 Conference in San Jose, CA last week was getting to listen in on thoughts about the state of the plug-in vehicle industry from people who have been involved with it for ages. They bristle when you call them the "Old Guard" (learned that one the hard way), but these are the people who have been through a number of ups and downs with plug-in vehicles, so they've got what we call perspective. Their knowledge was on full display in the three plenary sessions, which the Plug In Conference organizers have given us permission to share with you. Each is at least 90 minutes long, so make sure to set some time aside to enjoy the discussions after you download them (any help with making them streamable would be appreciated). Follow us below to see what we've got to offer. Opening Plenary (audio link). "The Road Ahead – Delivering on a Vision for Sustainable Transportation." Moderated by Mark Duvall (director of energy utilization at EPRI, the Electric Power Research Institute, and a long-time EV advocate), this panel featured: Jack Broadbent, Executive Officer / APCO, Bay Area Air Quality Management District Pat Romano, President & Chief Executive Officer, ChargePoint, Inc. Aaron Johnson, Senior Director, Customer Programs, Pacific Gas and Electric Company Brendan Jones, Director, EV Sales Operations & Infrastructure Deployment, Nissan North America, Inc. David W. Cash, Commissioner, MassDEP Dan Sperling, Director, Institute of Transportation Studies, University of California, Davis Highlights: Educating drivers to "get over the gas station" is a key strategy, how Level 2 and DC Fast Charging are really "a new paradigm," that there have been well over 214,000 EVs sold in US as of July 2014 and where Nissan sees huge potential for more EV sales (Northeast US and medium-size cities like St. Louis and Pittsburgh). Wednesday Morning Plenary (audio link). "Getting to the Mass Market – A Discussion of Ideas for Widespread PEV Adoption." Moderated by John Gartner, research director for smart transportation at Navigant Research.
Ford to update Sync, MyFord Touch software... again
Wed, 07 Aug 2013Ford hasn't had the best luck with its MyFord Touch and Sync systems, as the finicky infotainment system has been subject to a critical whooping while customer issues have helped sink Ford's IQS scores. The automaker has made a concerted effort, though, to try and fix MyFord Touch. And while the results have been mixed, The Blue Oval is hoping its latest free update, set to go live next week, will make things better.
According to a report from The Detroit News, the new system promises streamlined voice commands with fewer levels between opening query and actual result. Ford is also addressing where certain options are selected on the touchscreen. Rather than working one of the four quadrants on the homescreen, users will be able to select anywhere within the quadrant to make adjustments.
While it might only be a band-aid for MFT's problems, the fact that Ford is still trying to improve it is a promising sign. It's going to take more than just this update to address the system's ills, though.
GM, Ford, Honda winners in 'Car Wars' study as industry growth continues
Wed, May 11 2016General Motors' plans to aggressively refresh its product lineup will pay off in the next four years with strong market share and sales, according to an influential report released Tuesday. Ford, Honda, and FCA are all poised to show similar gains as the auto industry is expected to remain healthy through the rest of the decade. The Bank of America Merrill Lynch study, called Car Wars, analyzes automakers' future product plans for the next four model years. By 2020, 88 percent of GM's sales will come from newly launched products, which puts it slightly ahead of Ford's 86-percent estimate. Honda (85 percent) and FCA (84 percent) follow. The industry average is 81 percent. Toyota checks in just below the industry average at 79 percent, with Nissan trailing at 76 percent. Car Wars' premise is: automakers that continually launch new products are in a better position to grow sales and market share, while companies that roll out lightly updated models are vulnerable to shifting consumer tastes. Though Detroit and Honda grade out well in the study, many major automakers are clumped together, which means large market-share swings are less likely in the coming years. Bank of America Merrill Lynch predicts the industry will top out with 20 million sales in 2018 and then taper off, perhaps as much as 30 percent by 2026. Not surprisingly, trucks, sport utility vehicles and crossovers will be the key battlefield in the next few years, Car Wars says. FCA will launch a critical salvo in 2018 with a new Ram 1500, followed by new generations of the Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra in 2019, and then Ford's F-150 for 2020, according to the study. Bank of America Merrill Lynch analyst John Murphy said the GM trucks could be pulled ahead even earlier to 2018, prompting Ford to respond. "This focus on crossovers and trucks is a great thing for the industry," Murphy said. Cars Wars looks at Korean (76 percent replacement rate) and European companies more vaguely (70 percent), but argues their slower product cadence and lineups with fewer trucks puts them in weaker positions than their competitors through 2020.
