Up for bid is an all original 1958 Ford Ranchero. With less than 750 miles on the original motor that was rebuilt in late 2006. Nothing is modified from original. No rust or corrosion on anything. All the brakes, steering, wiring and chassis components were restored in 2007. Along with a gorgeous interior restoration in 2008. This rig has the 213cc 6 cylinder with a 3 speed manual transmission. Originally bought new by Montana State University. And sold to us in 1969. It sat inside until 2006 when we started restoring it. Nothing is really needed for the car. However, it does need a home that appreciates these ole classics. It runs and drives great. With recent tires and battery. This rig has been driven just enough to keep it maintained over the years. We take it to a couple local car shows every year. And, to the store once in a while. The odometer showed 29,712 miles when we returned from town with it today. We expect the chassis miles may be closer to 129K. We only expect to use it for test drives until sold. Located in southern Montana just off Interstate 90 on our ranch in Manhattan, Montana. There's a major truck stop in Belgrade, MT. 59714 Just 3 miles from us. Always garaged and never wrecked or abused. The body is very straight with all original panels. No fiberglass or aftermarket replacement parts on this rig. All interested are encouraged to take this Ranchero for a drive and view it up close. Crawl underneath and do any checks necessary to insure the quality and integrity of this classic. Please feel free to ask any questions before placing a bid. International bidders are welcomed and held to the same guidelines and time frames as all bidders. For detailed questions I can be contacted directly from 9AM to 10 PM PST.. Bill Rhodes (406) 595-5309
Of course this car can be driven to your destination
if desired. Also, we have installed tow bar pins under the front bumper attached to the frame for pulling if winner would prefer to pull it with a vehicle. Please note that is you decide to ship that the winning bidder is responsible for all shipping costs. We can keep this Ranchero stored in our locked and secure garage for up
to 60 days free of charge. Longer can be arranged if necessary. We can also take it to the major truck stop located on Interstate 90 only 3 miles from us in Belgrade, MT. 59714. Since shipping
can involve many specifics. We always ask interested parties to contact and
locate their own shipper. I can refer you to a few reputable shipping companies
located in the U.S. that customers and I have used over the years. We also have an international agent for
overseas shiping estimates. Feel free to inquire. Here’s a chance to own a piece of history and witness a great example of American ingenuity that was entertained through the 1950’s well into the early 60’s. Many satisfied customers. Thanks for looking and GOOD LUCK! |

Ford recalls 300,000 Crown Vics over lighting module
Wed, Dec 23 2015The Basics: Ford is recalling 312,814 units of the Crown Victoria and Mercury Grand Marquis sedans from the 2003-2005 model years. They were built at the St. Thomas Assembly Plant between Oct. 3, 2001, and Aug. 2, 2005. Ford says 296,004 of those units are located in the United States, with another 14,714 in Canada and 2,096 in Mexico. The Problem: The solder joints on the lighting control module could crack, depriving the headlamps of the power they need to light the way ahead. That could increase the risk of a crash, particularly at night and in other low-visibility situations. Injuries/Deaths: Ford reports that it is aware of 11 accidents that resulted from the problem, leading to one injury described as "minor." The Fix: The manufacturer is instructing dealers to replace the entire lighting control module. If You Own One: Make sure your headlights are working before getting under way. If they're not, avoid driving under low-light conditions, including at night, in heavy precipitation, or in fog. Ford gets colorful with Mustang anniversary infographic
Thu, 24 Oct 2013Preparing to celebrate its 50th birthday, the Ford Mustang has seen a lot of vehicle trends come and go, and this especially goes for paint colors. Using historical production data, Ford has managed to create an infographic dating back to 1967 that breaks down the three top Mustang colors for each year as well as calling out some of the more interesting trends and colors over the years.
Over its five generations, the Mustang has been offered in a seemingly endless rainbow - from Playboy Pink in '67 and color-changing Mystichrome on the 2004 Cobra - but the most popular has always been red, which is the color of choice for 21 percent of all Mustangs ever made. Almost every year since 1967, red has been among the top three colors for the Mustang, but other popular colors have included blue, white, brown and, most recently, black. There are even websites and registries available for people owning certain-color Mustangs.
As the all-new 2015 Mustang gets ready for its debut later this year, there's no telling what kind of exciting and/or wacky colors Ford has in store. Click on the image above to see the full infographic (choose the "large" option for optimal viewing), or check it out in a smaller size along with the press release posted below.
Weekly Recap: An '80s encore in the auto world
Sat, Jul 11 2015The '80s returned in a big way this week, as National Lampoon's, Ghostbusters, Miami Vice, and even Tetris were back in the news. While there were far more serious topics (see below), nostalgia mingled with modern marketing to put these Reagan-era favorites back in the spotlight. The '80s were alternately cold and corny at times, but their cultural touchstones can still generate big money. That's why Infiniti recreated an iconic scene from National Lampoon's Vacation (1983) for an advertisement that hawks the QX60 crossover. Actor Ethan Embry, who played Rusty Griswold in a later Lampoon's movie, pilots the Infiniti – which is serving as a modern Family Truckster – for a trip to Walley World. A blonde pulls alongside in a red Lamborghini. They flirt, and she drives on. Christie Brinkley, who played the original girl in the red sports car (she drove a Ferrari in the '83 flick), is riding shotgun and chides Embry with: "A blonde. In a convertible. Seriously?" Okay, it's hardly on the level of "here's looking at you," or even "you can't handle the truth," but it should resonate with '80s babies, many of whom are now having children of their own and moving into three-row SUVs like the QX60. Naturally, Hollywood is going back to the well, too, with a Vacation remake that premiers July 29. Meanwhile, Ghostbusters is returning next year, and director Paul Feig offered a peak at the new Eco-1 in this tweet. In the 1984 classic, the team drove a modified 1959 Cadillac. Now, it will drive a late '80s Cadillac. As expected, the announcement generated support and controversy from movie and car enthusiasts. His tweet had generated several thousand retweets and favorites in the days following the news. Though the '80s Caddy looks, uh, less elegant in comparison to the now-iconic fins and curves of the original Ecto-1, it's about the same time lapse into the past as the '59 Caddy was to viewers in 1984. Speaking of 1984, Miami Vice, which debuted that year on NBC, is seeing one of its hero cars hit the auction block, Mecum Auctions announced this week. The 1986 Ferrari used on the show will be offered for sale Aug. 15 during Monterey classic car week. The white supercar runs a 390-hp flat 12-cylinder engine paired with a five-speed manual transmission and was in storage after the show ended in 1989 until earlier this year. It has 16,124 miles on the odometer and is authenticated by Ferrari North America and Classiche.
