This is a 1961 Ford Econoline pickup truck I bought in Arizona and it is still in Arizona and it is now and always has been a rust free truck. I took some pictures of the outside edge of the box and you can see all the original spot welds are still there also I took pictures of the bottom of the truck and as you can see there is no rust on the bottom of the truck. Look closely at the floor on the inside of the truck and you can see there is no rust repair at all just nice cleanly painted floors with no repairs.

I own Kevins Klassic Cars in Cannon Falls Mn and you can look us up on U tube and look at our 200K plus cars going through Barrett-Jackson in Scottsdale Arizona. The same guys painted this truck that does those cars (My shop employees) Obviously we didn't put a 30K paint job on this car but they certainly know what they are doing and this is a very nice paint job. The truck has been sitting for about 18 months so there is a small scratch in the passenger fender, there are two scratches in the front bumper and there is a small spider crack about the size of a silver dollar in the tail gate. The paint job is very nice but not perfect. I would say it is a 8 out of 10 and extremely respectable for this price range of trunk.

The bottom of the box was professionally sprayed with bed liner and the back of the tail gate was sprayed with bed liner. We had them blend in the color of the truck with their product so it would all look the same. This was not done to hide anything as you can see the sides of the bed and the front of the bed have no bed liner on them. But I thought I would use the truck from time to time so I had that put in to save on the scratches. It has worked perfect because there are no scratches at all on the floor.(It might be because I haven't used it but who can say)

The wheels, trim rings and the hub caps are all from a 69 Mustang. We media blasted the wheels and painted them all around and the wheels look excellent. The tires are brand new radial tires size 14 inch and they still have the nubs on them and the one still has the original sticker on it. The wheels and tires are excellent they add a lot to the truck. The front windshield is brand new and the gasket for the windshield is brand new, the corner windows are used and are not perfect but you cant buy them new but the gaskets they are sitting in are new. I have both the rear window and the side glass and you can see it in the pictures of the parts that still need to be put on.

We rebuilt the wheel cylinders on the front wheels and got the brakes to work however this is only good for short distances and loading and unloading the truck the back wheels will still need to be done. The engine runs but as of right now we are using a gallon can for the gas source because the gas tank either needs replaced or cleaned out (Didn't try it but only guessing it needs cleaned out since it has sat in the desert state of Arizona) The carb on the trunk has been rebuilt and it starts very easily. We also put on a new exhaust manifold gasket and while we had that off we replaced the freeze plugs behind there just in case there was a problem. We didn't try the charging system so we don't know if the generator works or not. The water pump is leaking but for a car sitting around that is very common and a fairly easy fix. The truck can be started, driven and the brakes work, so if you send a company out to pick the truck up they can start it and load it no problem and we are glad to help.

The bottom of the seats, the dog house, the battery box and pretty much so everything inside has been media blasted and painted as you can see from the pictures. The seat frames themselves will need to be media blasted and painted then have them recovered. I had a quote to have the foam put on and the seat covers installed for 500 dollars but I never got around to doing it. You will still need to buy door gaskets and felts and gaskets for the side windows. The wing windows I have both seals front and back for the wing windows on both sides. I also have new front turn signal lenses and rear tail light lenses they will be here by the time you pick up the truck.

A lot of the work has been done on this truck all the paint and body work is done and ready to go. Mostly what needs to be done at this point is the seats and headliner on the interior, the rest of the dash needs to be put back together and the truck will need a battery we will supply a battery just to start the truck and load it but there is no battery in the battery box. Everything to this point has been done professionally and not half way.

If you have any questions feel free to give me a call or you can come out and look at the truck. The truck is at a friends house of mine because he had a lift so I could take the pictures on the bottom. Thanks Kevin Manley. 612-275-8722 I  have a clear Arizona title that comes with the truck. I have an extremely low starting price about 1/4 of what I have into the truck and then there is no reserve. Obviously I am hoping for a lot more then that but only the bidders will determine that.

How Ford hid the 2015 Mustang from spy photographers

Fri, 20 Dec 2013

Now that we've finally seen the 2015 Ford Mustang, it's fun to go back and look at the spy shots we spent months pouring over, trying to dissect what was under all the camouflage. For the most part, Ford did a good job of concealing the car from spy photographers, and it released a video showing how much work went into doing so.
As crude as the Mustang's camo looked, all of the hard plastic, foam, vinyl and ratchet straps were actually created and put in place by a specific design team. The whole idea was to hide the car's identity, but it certainly ended up acting as a magnet for attention, too. According to Ford's press release, it took less than an hour for spy shots to appear online after the car was taken on public roads for the very first time - this is likely in reference to our first official spy shots of the Mustang from June, shown in the gallery below.
Scroll down for a press release and video, which shows footage of the 2015 Ford Mustang testing with minimal camouflage. This is probably the same track session where we got our first look at the Mustang's face back in August.

Ford Escort Concept goes back to basics

Fri, 19 Apr 2013

Here's the thing about China: The folks buying cars there have a very different set of standards than shoppers in many other markets around the globe. While we all drool over hot metal with bold designs, and while we appreciate automakers going an extra step to inject even their cheapest offerings with aggressive and interesting cues, that sort of sheetmetal sex appeal doesn't always sell in the People's Republic. Case in point is Jaguar, which may be designing a more traditional-looking version of its XJ for the Chinese market, or more to the point of this story, Ford currently sells the less-exciting, last-generation Focus compact in China right alongside the new one.
So consider this new Shanghai-bound C-segment concept a preview of what's to come for that more traditional, budget-minded, less-sexy market. More proof of this pudding: Ford's even calling this concept the Escort - a nod to the Blue Oval's compact car days of yore, and a name that stirs up thoughts of basic, affordable transportation rather than great driving dynamics or bold design. "Customers in China described seeking a vehicle that is stylish - but not one that is arrogant or pretentious," Ford states. And this new Escort concept previews a possibility of providing exactly that for this rapidly expanding automotive market.
What you're looking at, then, is one of the most simple Ford designs we've seen of late, though it still incorporates all of the automaker's latest DNA. The signature hexagonal grille is front and center, flanked by attractive LED headlamps and chrome-rimmed foglamp housings. The entire car's design focuses on clean, smooth surfaces, with one strong character line flowing from front to back just below the beltline. We will say that the car looks decidedly more premium from the rear view, where narrow, horizontal taillamps with an LED accent give the car added visual width. Bland as it may be, it's a handsome little concept, though fear what would likely happen if all of the conceptual details get dumbed down for a production model.

Detroit 3 to implement delayed unified towing standards for 2015

Mon, 10 Feb 2014

Car buyers have a responsibility to be well-informed consumers. That's not always a very simple task, but some guidelines are self-evident. If you live in a very snowy climate, you generally know a Ford Mustang or Chevrolet Camaro might not be as viable a vehicle choice as an all-wheel drive Explorer or Traverse, for example. If you want a fuel-efficient car, it's generally a good idea to know the difference between a diesel and a hybrid. But what if it's kind of tough to be an informed consumer? What if the information you need is more difficult to come by, or worse, based on different standards for each vehicle? Well, in that case, you might be a truck shopper.
For years, customers of light-duty pickups have had to suffer through different ratings of towing capacities for each brand. For 2015 model year trucks, though, that will no longer be a problem. According to Automotive News, General Motors, Ford and Chrysler Group have announced that starting with next year's models, a common standard will be used to measure towing capacity. The Detroit Three will join Toyota, which adopted the Society of Automotive Engineers' so-called SAE J2807 standards way back in 2011.
The standard was originally supposed to be in place for MY2013, but concerns that it would lower the overall stated capacity for trucks led Detroit automakers to pass. Ford originally passed, claiming it'd wait until its new F-150 was launched to adopt the new standards, leading GM and Ram to follow suit. Nissan, meanwhile, has said it will adopt the new standards as its vehicles are updated, meaning the company's next-generation Titan should adhere to the same tow ratings as its competitors.
