Before I begin, I would encourage all serious buyers to contact me directly at: 517-425-0129. Although this is a seven day auction, I reserve the right to end early.

You are bidding on the iconic 1951 Ford Pickup. Recently underwent an extensive frame-off restoration, no expense spared, and it shows. Photo documented, work performed by a well-known, award winning shop. Vehicle has been driven less than 500 miles since build, consistent "first place / best in show" winner. As part of the restoration, body was completely dipped to strip all paint, caulk, etc... Frame has been powdercoated black, entire underside nicely finished as well. (see pics) Originally a solid Arkansas truck. Prior owner estimates over $50,000 and close to 3 years invested in this build. Description as follows:

Mechanical: Correct flathead V-8 mated to 3 speed manual trans. Manual brakes and steering. Factory exhaust, new suspension, front-end rebuild, all new brake and gas lines, etc... etc... Runs and drives very well. Nicely detailed engine compartment.

Interior: Nicely finished bench seat interior, sharp camel/blue color theme. All factory gauges restored to new as well as AM radio. All in working order.

Exterior: Base coat / clear coat show quality paint done in 1951 Ford Alpine Blue. All new exterior trim gaskets and weatherstrip. Truck bed done in finished oak. This old classic rides on Coker bias ply wide whitewall tires with paint-matched steel rims and refinished chrome Ford moon caps.

In closing, this is certainly one of the nicest examples you'll find. Take the time to review all the pics and don't hesitate to call with further questions. I also have contact with a reasonable shipping company and would be glad to assist. Vehicle offered by Rare Rides, a licensed MI dealer.

TERMS: 25% NONREFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE WITHIN 3 DAYS OF AUCTION CLOSE. BALANCE DUE WITHIN 7 DAYS OR VEHICLE PICKUP, WHICHEVER COMES FIRST. PREFERRED PAYMENT IS BANK TO BANK WIRE TRANSFER OR CERTIFIED BANK FUNDS. VEHICLE PURCHASED AS-IS, NO WARRANTIES/REFUNDS IMPLIED.

Ford idling Michigan Assembly Plant to trim Focus, C-Max supply

Tue, 22 Oct 2013

Ford will be putting the brakes on production at its Michigan Assembly Plant in Wayne, MI, idling production during the weeks of October 28 and December 16. Ford is citing the first drop in US sales in 27 months, a 4.2-percent dip in September, as the impetus for trimming their supplies, according to Automotive News.
Ford's deft management of its supplies has been part of its success over the years, and seeing supplies of Focus and C-Max, the two vehicles built at MAP, rise from 58 and 108 days, respectively, to 71 and 122 days over the span of a month was apparently all that was need to justify the trimming. As AN points out, the rule of thumb for many automakers is to maintain a 60-day supply of vehicles.
"Ford has been focused on keeping their pricing in check. Their operating margin is in double digits. Nobody else is there and they're obviously very proud of that," Alan Baum, an auto analyst with Baum & Associates told AN. Keeping the supply chain operating smoothly and not increasing supplies too much is crucial to that healthy profit margin. After all, a large supply lowers prices ,which, in turn, cuts profit. So while this news might not be great for employees at MAP, who now have an extra two weeks of vacation time, it's far from a sign of problems in Dearborn. Quite the opposite, actually.

Shelby to auction 2012 GT350 No. 1 in Vegas

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

With Shelby preparing to wind down production of its brutal GT350, a 624-horsepower Mustang that's meant to go up against the Roush Stage 3 in the world of tuned Ford ponycars, the Las Vegas-based tuner is looking to give back to one lucky customer. It'll auction off the very first GT350 ever produced, at the 2013 Barrett-Jackson auction in Las Vegas, a three-day event that runs from September 26 through September 28.
The GT350 is a monster, with a 5.0-liter, supercharged V8 that's been tuned well past 600 horsepower in a time when Ford's own Shelby-branded GT500 barely reached 550 horsepower. The GT350 is much louder than Ford's effort, too, both visually and audibly. The wide body look isn't what we'd call conventional, but on a car that sounds and goes like this, something extreme is needed. According to Shelby American's vice president of production, Gary Davis, "Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It's the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car." Wilwood brakes, a massaged suspension, and some very fat, sticky tires add to the Shelby experience.
This particular GT350 will be lot number 750, and will cross the Barrett-Jackson stage on Sunday, September 28.

2015 Ford C-Max gets a corporate nose job [w/video]

Thu, 02 Oct 2014

Ford might not have the splashiest booth here at the 2014 Paris Motor Show, but the automaker is showing off quite a bit of hardware that will actually end up on roads across Europe. Parisians are no doubt tickled at getting to see the specifications of the Mustang tuned for The Continent (which has a revised suspension for European roads, and a few visual nips and tucks), in addition to the revised face of the family-friendly C-Max.
As you can see, C-Max styling has been revisited with a deft touch, grafting Ford's six-sided corporate grille on the nose, in place of the outgoing car's two-part affair. New headlights can also be found on the car's revised front fascia, though the rear end of the C-Max looks only slightly different than the current version.
Inside the cabin, Ford has consolidated controls and upped the ante in terms of material quality, with "black satin" and chrome details and more storage capacity, overall. Grocery-lugging moms and dads everywhere should appreciate the hands-free liftgate feature, as well.
