1976 Ford Courier Pickup on 2040-cars
Watsonville, California, United States
If you have a rusted out or wrecked Courier, this might be the car for you. It has one of the nicest, rust free bodies I've ever seen on an old truck this age. The orange paint is original and there are no spots on the truck where it's been repainted or repairs have been made. Even the box is in great undamaged shape. I bought it thinking that I'd be able to put on new brakes and tires, tune it up and end up with a vehicle anyone would be proud to own. But, the seller neglected to mention one little thing: the engine is frozen. I made the mistake of thinking that since the truck looked so well taken care of the engine would naturally be good too. Not true. Now I am done with it. All I want to do is get rid of it and learn a little lesson along the way. I am not in the mind-set of pulling and rebuilding this engine or finding another one and installing it. It's not going to happen. I've already refused a couple of people who would like to have me put in a good engine and repost it for sale. Nope. I'm too old and cranky about the whole thing. As you can see from the pictures, this is a rare find of a Courier in such rust free, non abused shape. One person who called was exploring the possibility of putting a 302 Ford engine in it. They say it can be done. The truck was owned by a couple that got too old to drive it and parked it in 2000. It was under a roof most of the time. The title got eaten by mice so I have a bill of sale. It's been off the books long enough for it to be easy to get a new title, which I was getting ready to do, but not any more. I will not do anything more other than sell it. All shipping and paperwork will be the responsibility of the buyer. I really feel bad about this. I've looked long and hard for a Courier in such good shape, and I hope someone will buy it and do justice to it. If you decide to buy it, details on payment will be worked out at that time. |

RWD Lincolns are coming, fate depends partly on MKZ success
Tue, 04 Dec 2012The product portfolio at Lincoln may seem a bit sparse at the moment, but if a report is to be believed, new products are on the way. TheDetroitBureau.com spoke with sources at Lincoln and Ford, who claimed the American premium brand is working on, perhaps more than one, rear-wheel-drive vehicle.
Lincoln would likely platform-share with the next-generation Ford Mustang to develop those RWD offerings in the early going. Moving forward, the report indicates that Lincoln could take the lead on other rear-drive projects in the future. As the RWD architecture continues to take shape, "most or all" of the front-wheel-drive portfolio will also be offered with all-wheel drive as an option, ala Audi.
But wait, there's more! The report also suggests that a replacement for the full-size MKS is on the way, as well as a new Navigator and a luxury crossover based on the current Ford Escape.
Ford GT to be revived, Le Mans battle upcoming
Sun, 05 Oct 2014Ford dominated the 24 Hours of Le Mans from 1966 to 1969, scoring four consecutive wins. Wouldn't it be great if the Blue Oval could go back to France for the 50th anniversary of that performance and show it can still compete in international endurance racing? Actually, the latest rumors indicate that could be exactly the case, and the car taking that checkered flag could be another revival of the Ford GT.
As the rumblings go, Ford wants to use a new supercar to take another crack at Le Mans, after considering some other possible alternatives. Substantiating these musings are reports that a Blue Oval rep was reportedly on hand for a recent meeting about 2016 GTE-Class rules, according to Road and Track. That would put the new GT in the same racing class as the Corvette, Ferrari 458 Italia, Porsche 911 and others.
It's not all about racing, though. If you win on Sunday, you want something to be able to sell on Monday. The revived GT is reportedly still a mid-engine supercar, but the exact engine is unclear. It's possible that it could even be shown or announced at the Detroit auto show in January, according to Motor Trend.
