1961 Econoline Pick Up on 2040-cars

Up for auction is my 1961 Econoline pick up. The truck is in stock condition with the original 140CI I6 and a deluxe 5 window body. There are drum brakes and leaf springs at all 4 corners, with a straight axle up front. The dash was cut by a previous owner for a stock radio and all the original gauges are in the dash. All the signals and lights worked the last time I drove it. The wiring is original and 12V. An alternator was installed by a previous owner. the body is very straight with little visible rust. The bed is in reasonable condition for the age of the truck. The spare tire mount is still on the wheel well. The previous owner frenched the tailgate hinges with bondo and the hasps are missing. I covered a red metal flake paint job with rattle can stain black so there are now black on black ghost flames. The roof and hubs have army green accents. This would make an excellent urban shop delivery truck as was the intended purpose in 1961. I hate to sell it but moved to the sticks and need a lifted 4x4 to represent.

Monsoon rains disrupt production for Ford, BMW in India
Wed, Dec 2 2015Even modern production techniques can be stymied by Mother Nature. This was demonstrated most recently in India, as torrential, monsoon rains caused a deluge that forced multiple automakers to suspend production. Ford, Renault, and BMW all halted work at their Indian facilities around the southern city of Chennai, also known as Madras. The annual rains disrupted public transport around the city, preventing employees from making the trek into city's factories. According to Automotive News, Chennai saw 48 inches of precipitation last month alone, which is more than Seattle, WA saw in all of 2014. While Ford and BMW closed things down for all of December 1, Renault just cancelled a pair of shifts at its Chennai factory. This is the second time in the past month that automakers in southeast India have been forced to stop production due to severe flooding, and things aren't likely to improve. According to The Weather Channel, forecasts call for thunderstorms over five of the next seven days, while the chance of rain won't fall below 80 percent until December 8. Ford, Renault, and BMW are far from the only automakers that could stand to be impacted by the rains. The city has been nicknamed "The Detroit of India" for its extreme automotive presence. Daimler, Hindustan, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, and Nissan all own factories in the region. Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute
Fri, Jan 9 2015Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.
Ford hybrid sales rebound following MPG controversy
Sun, 31 Aug 2014Ford hybrid customers apparently have very short memories. With two EPA fuel economy reratings in the last year, sales of the C-Max, Fusion Hybrid and Lincoln MKZ haven't been too terribly dented, Ward's Auto reports.
All three vehicles saw sales dips following the August 2013 rerating, although sales of the MKZ Hybrid had begun to rebound as early as November of that year. C-Max sales, meanwhile, took slightly longer, with sales on a steadily improving course as early as February of this year.
The second rerating, in June of this year, has had an even smaller effect on the Blue Oval's hybrids. The C-Max has actually been subject to a sales increase, while both the MKZ and Fusion saw minor sales drops (less than 400 units between the two in the month following the rerating).
