1952 Ford F-1 4x4 Truck on 2040-cars
Pueblo, Colorado, United States
I'm selling my 1952 Ford F-1 4x4. I bought the truck a year ago and all it was was a painted shell with a 350 that barely ran. Since then I have wired, plumbed, replaced the drivetrain except the engine, and installed the interior. Drivetrain parts: new mad dog 700r4 non electric trans, rebuilt transfer, new driveshaft, new shocks, new brakes, new steering box , new power steering pump, new alternator, new water pump, new flexlite fan with 3 in spacer, new cold air intake, new edelbrock performer intake, rebuilt quadrajet carb , new battery, new electric fuel pump. Interior/exterior parts: All new glass except drivers door cracked, new wing windows and felt, new window cranks, fat cat dynamat, new carpet, new cd player amp and speakers, new vintage air heater defroster, new wiper motor , arms and blades, new steering wheel. The entire cab was dynamatted before any interior was installed. It also comes with 5 brand falken tires and rims, custom spare tire holder and a metal storage box in the bed. There are a couple of bad things. The be has dings in the floor from being used and the front clip was made into a one piece tilt by the previous owner and when they did the body work it wasn't to good so you can see where there are a couple of lines in the front fenders. I'M sure I forgot something just email me and I will answer as soon as I can. Thanks for looking

Ford, GM still doing new business with Takata amidst airbag crisis
Thu, Nov 20 2014Lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. You might expect automakers to be fleeing any connection with beleaguered supplier Takata in the wake of the company's exploding airbag inflator crisis. After all, with a Senate hearing, pending lawsuit, plummeting stock value and demand for a national recall, the tier-one supplier isn't at its strongest right now. However, years of cooperation mean that automakers are standing by Takata, and necessity may be playing a role, as well. About 39 percent of Takata's business comes from airbags, and seatbelts make up another significant chunk of the operation too, says Bloomberg. The long-term relationships and lengthy vehicle development times make it difficult for automakers to cut and run from the supplier. "Takata has so much product breadth that I don't really see that they could just disappear," said AutoPacific analyst Dave Sullivan to Bloomberg. For example, Takata helped develop the unique front center airbag with General Motors in models like the Chevrolet Traverse and Buick Enclave. Outside of safety tech, it is also a partner with Ford on the adaptive steering system available on the upcoming 2015 Edge. These long-lasting partnerships make change difficult now that there's a problem. According to Reuters, automakers claim it would take a year or longer to set up with a different supplier for replacement airbag inflators. Switching to a completely different part for the repairs might not be a viable option either, because of the engineering time needed. BMW is taking action, though. According to Reuters, the Bavarian brand is working with the supplier to move inflator production from Monclova, Mexico, to a Takata factory in Freiburg, Germany. The Mexican plant may be the source of some of the faulty parts. News Source: Bloomberg, ReutersImage Credit: Jens Meyer / AP Photo BMW Ford GM Safety Takata airbag recall
Ford ST Octane Academy [w/video]
Wed, 04 Jun 2014
The ST school is about more than just handbrake turns, hot laps, and sliding into parking spaces.
I felt like such a rock star. On my second pass around the UrbanCross course (read: fancy autocross) at the Ford ST Octane Academy, I absolutely nailed the exit, sliding the bright-yellow Focus ST sideways into a box the size of a parking space, all four wheels in line.
MyFord Touch getting second update, extended warranty
Wed, 28 Nov 2012There is no doubt that Ford has had its hands full fielding complaints with its MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems these days, but looking to keep its customers happy, Ford is once again upgrading its infotainment systems and extending the warranties. Despite having just sent out updates for its systems back in March, Automotive News says that customers are still complaining about the speed and ease of use.
Vehicles with MyFord Touch will now get a five-year, unlimited-mile warranty, while the MyLincoln Touch will have a six-year, unlimited-mile warranty. Previously, the systems were covered under basic warranties (three-year, 36,000-mile for Ford and four-year, 60,000-miles for Lincoln).
What is being referred to as "version 3.5" for the MyFord Touch and MyLincoln Touch systems will be mailed out (or downloaded) next month for owners of cars without navigation and in January for cars with nav. Owners of hybrids, plug-ins and electric vehicles will get the update sometime in the first quarter of next year.
