1951 Ford F-1 Pickup This truck was bought new at Mike Junkens Ford in Corrollton Alabama, and has had only three owner also from Corrollton which I will include there names to the new owner. This is a solid original unrestored half ton truck that has been kept inside all of it life. Cab, floors, and doors are solid with no rust. All four fenders are solid where they meet the running boards with no rust, and have never been patched, I included one picture of the fenders, if you want more I can email them to you. Doors, and windows work as they should, and all gaps line up well. Both door, and vent windows are original glass, and maybe the rear glass, but the windshield has been replaced. It still has all five of the 16" rims, and original hubcaps on it. It has had one older repaint, and was not the best paint job either. The paint on the dash has some cracking, and the out side doesn't shine like it should. The cardboard door panels, and headliner neen to be replaced. It appears to have been a color change it looks to have been originally meadow green, you can see this color behind the headliner, and door panels. I just put plugs in it, and it runs great, and doesn't smoke at all. It does have a exhaust leak in the pipe between the manifold, and muffler. The thrid owner put a new gas tank in it in 2005, and he also put a electric fuel pump on it in 2010, he said the original fuel pump was working he just want more fuel pressure so the original one could be hooked back up easy if you didn't want it. The original wood is still in the bed, but a couple of the boards have broken, and they installed a small piece of metal in front of the bed that I took out, and it needs to be smoothed up where it was welded to the sides, and head board. The speed-meter needle is lose, and the mileage is unknown. The temp gauge, and oil pressure gauge is not working also. Truck is being sold with a bill of sale only as Alabama, and Georgia were not title states at that time, and will not give me a title. If you have any questions you can email me with eBay or call 404-867-3163 cell. Thanks Terry

Junkyard Gem: 1991 Mercury Capri
Mon, Sep 19 2016Ford has gotten a lot of use out of the Capri name in the United States. First, there was the Lincoln Capri in the 1950s, followed by the Ford Capri Mk1 (which was sold by Mercury dealers in the USA but never actually badged as a Mercury). Then came the 1979-1986 Mercury Capri, built on the very successful Fox Platform and essentially a clone of the Mustang. Finally, in 1991, the Australian Ford Capri came to the United States. Here is an example of this rare car that I spotted in a Northern California self-service yard not long ago. Mechanically speaking, the 1991-1994 Capri was a Mazda 323 under the skin, complete with a member of the same B-series engine family that went into such cars as the Miata and Ford Escort. So, for a few years in the early 1990s, car shoppers who wanted a sporty Mazda convertible could choose between a Miata and a Capri. The Capri had front-wheel-drive, but could be had with factory turbocharging. These cars were reliable and fun, but had a tough time competing with the Miata in the showroom battles. You'll see the occasional example now and then, but most of the 1991-1994 Capris have met the same fate that awaits this one. Related Video:
Ford GT40 makes historic return to racing at Goodwood
Wed, 23 Oct 2013Is there a more iconic, American racecar than the Ford GT40? That may be a discussion for another day (although by all means, tell us how wrong we are in Comments), but this video of heaps of GT40s running in the Goodwood Revival races certainly has us thinking that Ford's Ferrari-killer might just be the best racer the Land Of The Free and Home Of The Brave has ever come up with.
That's completely ignoring the fact that the GT40 was largely developed by Brits using American money, but that's besides the point (there was also a rather brash Texan, who had a big role later in development). The resulting vehicle was dominant, besting the cars of Il Commendatore from 1966 to 1969, although it should be noted that Ford's GT40 was unable to beat Ferrari in its first two Le Mans outings in 1964 and 1965.
Those four years of dominance, which started with Ford sweeping the podium, were enough to establish the GT40's legend. And now, here we are almost 50 years later, celebrating the mid-engined monsters at Goodwood, in their first ever one-make race. Take a look below for the entire video.
Official USPS Muscle Cars stamps coming to a mailbox near you
Thu, 21 Feb 2013As much as our digital lives have cut down on our trips to the post office, there are still times that sending "snail mail" is necessary. With us car lovers in mind and philately in their hearts, the good folks at the United States Postal Service will introduce a new stamp design called "Muscle Cars" starting on February 22.
Designed by artist Tom Fritz, the new collection of stamps consist of five classic muscle cars: 1969 Dodge Charger Daytona, 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS, 1967 Shelby GT-500, 1966 Pontiac GTO and 1970 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda. In addition to just the stamps, the USPS is also commemorating the new series with plenty of collectable memorabilia. Previous car-related stamps include 50s Sporty Cars from 2005 and 50s Fins and Chrome from 2008.
