For Sale; A very rare model Ford Pick Up Truck. 1951 F-3 One ton truck Most F series models are either F-1 or F-2 models. The F-3 is a one ton work truck. This truck has been fully restored in a frame off restoration. It is in pristine condition. It is a Flat Head V-8 239 engine. It has a four speed on the floor. Engine and transmission are all original. Engine has been rebuilt and bored out .40 over. It has a total rewire and has been converted to 12 Volt from 6 Volt for better starting and brighter lights. It has a custom two tone paint and four new 19" tires with SS hubcaps. This truck's engine purrs and first gear will climb a mountain as if it had 4 wheel drive. The Stainless Steel "FORD" letters on the cowl have been replaced by the proper S.S. V-8 emblem. The Stainless Steel Hubcaps are also now mounted upon the wheels. Ford Mustang GT Bi-Fuel CNG
Tue, 23 Jul 2013Highly intrigued, we recently visited a Southern California Gas Company office to check out several hybrid vehicles promising something new. Unlike more commonplace gasoline-electric hybrids, we were there to evaluate innovative gasoline-compressed natural gas (CNG) hybrids - yes, they run on unleaded gasoline and compressed natural gas. According to the experts on hand, this arrangement delivers extended range and reduced emissions while chipping in with lower operating costs than pure-gasoline vehicles. There are advantages over its gasoline-electric counterparts, as well.
The program is part of a three-way collaboration between The Carlab, a Southern California-based automotive consulting firm, Landi Renzo USA, a company specializing in alternative fuel solutions, and America's Natural Gas Alliance, a group that promotes CNG. Long story short, the team has engineered a way to allow a modified internal combustion vehicle to seamlessly switch between two fuels (gasoline and CNG) with no driver intervention. In theory, and if it works as well as promised, it's a win-win for the vehicle owner and the environment.
Parked at the Gas Company office were six different gasoline-CNG hybrid vehicles. To demonstrate the technology's versatility (just about any gasoline vehicle may be modified) Carlab brought a varied assortment of bodystyles, each from a different automaker. After taking a quick glance at the half-dozen in the parking lot, we made a beeline for the performance-oriented Ford Mustang GT - a 2012 model - with the six-speed manual gearbox.
Ford announces 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition
Tue, 09 Apr 2013Ford has pulled the wraps off its anticipated 2014 F-150 SVT Raptor Special Edition model, a new variant of the popular street-legal off-road specialist. In a nutshell, the "special" is all cosmetic - there are no mechanical upgrades to the truck and its 6.2-liter V8 (411 horsepower and 434 pound-feet of torque), Torsen limited-slip differential, beadlock-capable wheels and internal triple-bypass FOX Racing Shox dampers all remain untouched.
The SVT Raptor Special Edition, which adds cosmetic enhancements to the existing Luxury Package, will be offered in Ruby Red Metallic and Tuxedo Black Metallic with box-side graphics. The interior upgrades include Brick Red seat bolsters (with black inserts), cloth honeycomb highlights and a console top finish panel.
