1950 Ford F-1 Pickup This truck was sold by the original owners family in North Carolina in 2011. This is a solid original unrestored half ton truck with original paint. Cab, floors, and doors are solid with no rust, fenders are solid except the fronts have a small patch that was welded in, and just painted to match the original paint. There are three small places that have some rust one is in the lower right front fender just below the headlight, left rear fender has a small place next to the bed, and a small place in the head board of the bed (see photos) of these places. All the glass is original ford except the drivers door, and it needs replaced again, and also the vent windows have some cracks. The man I bought it from did a new wood bed, wood bed rails, painted the engine, paint the wheels red, dual exhaust, and changed it to 12 volt. The engine runs great, and doesn't smoke at all. Transmission does pop out of 2nd gear when you let off the gas, but it runs good, and drives good. All gauges work, heater, wiper, and the lights. The speed-o-meter cable just when out so it needs a new one. Doors, and windows work as they should, and all gaps line up well. Truck is being sold with a bill of sale as Georgia was not a title state at that time, and will not give me a title. I have a clear, and open Kentucky title that I got with it, and you can take it to the tag office to get a title with if you live in a title state, and my bill of sale. If you have any questions you can email me with eBay or call 404-867-3163 cell. Thanks Terry

Ford jumps back in the water with marinized 6.2L V8
Wed, 06 Nov 2013Nameplates like the Mercury Mariner and Lincoln Navigator aside, Ford hasn't offered a marine engine in over two decades. But through a new partnership with one of the biggest names in the business, the Dearborn-based automaker is dipping its proverbial toes back in the water.
Announced yesterday at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the new partnership between Ford Component Sales and Indmar Marine Engines will see the 6.2-liter V8 from the F-150 SVT Raptor and F-Series Super Duty marinized for use in boats.
The largest privately owned inboard gasoline marine engine manufacturer in the world, Indmar has been in the business for 43 years, and figures the Ford V8 will be just what watersport enthusiasts are looking for to tow waterskiers and wakeboarders to their hearts' content.
70% of pickups could use aluminum by 2025
Wed, 11 Jun 2014In the next decade, the auto industry will see an explosion in its use of aluminum to cut weight and increase fuel economy, according to a study from market analysts Ducker Worldwide cited by The Detroit News. We are already seeing the lightweight metal show up extensively in luxury models from Europe, but with the impending launch of aluminum-intensive 2015 Ford F-150 (pictured above), North America is using it even more, as well. The report predicts 70 percent of US pickups to have aluminum bodies by 2025.
It won't just be pickups that see the benefit, though. The average amount of aluminum in US vehicles is forecasted by the study to grow from an average of 350 pounds in 2013 to about 550 pounds by 2025. The most common parts to use it will be hoods, doors and - to some extent - roofs, as well.
The massive increase in pickups' aluminum content hardly seems surprising. The F-150 is predicted to use so much that it might cause a short-term shortage, according to one earlier report. At the same time General Motors is heavily rumored to be negotiating with suppliers for the next generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. Ram is the last holdout of the Big Three, but the study predicts that not to last.
Ford to pay $17.35 million over Escape recall
Thu, 01 Aug 2013Ford had a bit of a recall spree around this time last year, with a pair of issues on the then-new 2013 Escape, followed by a recall of 423,000 2001 to 2004 Escapes because they might accelerate of their own accord. Accordingly, Uncle Sam pasted Ford with a $17.35 million fine because it took too long to inform customers, according to a report from Automotive News.
Ford agreed to settle with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, accepting the fine but not admitting fault. The recall, which afflicted Escapes with the 3.0-liter V-6 along with 217,000 Mazda Tributes from 2001 to 2006 and 2008, was due to faulty gas pedals that could stay down after a driver removed their foot.
Ford issued a statement regarding the fine, saying, "We take the safety of our customers seriously and continuously evaluate our processes for improvements. While we are confident in our current processes for quickly identifying and addressing potential vehicle issues, Ford agreed to this settlement to avoid a lengthy dispute with the government."
