1948 Ford F1 Original Truck Old Antique Project Flathead Running Condition on 2040-cars
Bartlesville, Oklahoma, United States
This truck belongs to my father in-law who has had it for over 10 years. He does not have the time or mechanical ability to restore it or to even use or enjoy it, in it's present condition. The truck was bought from a rural pastor in Nebraska who had many years ago used it on a postal route. The truck is to the best our knowledge completely orignal. I would describe this truck as being in a very pure condition. We don't believe that It has not been changed, adapted or upgraded in the last 66 years. It has been most definitely painted with a brush 30-50?? years ago. This has probably helped to keep the body with very little rust. It has been driven over the 10-12 years, but very little. If you wanted to drive it without a restoration it would take very little work. BUT most of it's vital organs has received little attention for a lot of years. The tires will hold air but are in poor condition. The brakes I'm sure could use some TLC. I do want you to know that the "WORST" about the truck is its lack of attention many many years. This may also be the "BEST" about the truck. It would be rare to find many others this age that are as original and un-tampered as this one. My opinion is: the truck has very little rust. In places like the floorboard, the undersides of doors, the firewall and bed, the truck is showing almost no rust other than some surface rust and is all very solid. the truck appears to be "all there" We are posting a lot of pictures that should show its condition. Feel free to contact us if you need any additional pics or information. We have a reliable shipping contact that will ship anywhere in the lower 48 for approx. $1.00 per mile (one way) some areas are less and some are more. Call anytime Steve 918-804-2434 |

Formula Drift kicks off 11th season on Streets of Long Beach
Tue, 08 Apr 2014The 2014 Formula Drift series kicked off last weekend in Long Beach, and saw Chris Forsberg, who you'll recall went mad and drifted around a warehouse in an Infiniti M, take the title behind the wheel of his Hankook Tire Nissan 370Z (shown above).
Forsberg really ran away with the first round of competition, outscoring his closest opponent, second-place finisher Kenneth Moen and his Bridges Racing Nissan 240SX, by 20 points. Third place was 2013 championship winner Michael Essa and his Yokohama BMW M3, 30.5 points behind Forsberg.
In the manufacturers' title, Nissan took an early lead with 122 points, which isn't a huge surprise considering five of the top ten drifters were piloting either a Z or a product of the brand's S platform. Ford, which had two drivers (Justin Pawlak and Vaughn Gittin, Jr.) in the top ten, took home second place, while BMW is currently third in the manufacturers' standings.
Hot sales have Detroit automakers shortening summer shutdowns
Tue, 08 Jul 2014Back in May, there was speculation that the Detroit Three automakers would maintain or perhaps even extend their traditional summer shutdowns, mostly due to a bitingly cold winter that saw below-freezing temperatures infiltrate the southernmost reaches of the US, putting a chill on auto sales. Now, though, the numbers are in, and thanks to some promising sales figures, it looks like some domestic line workers are going to be working clear through July, in some cases.
According to Automotive News, Ford has slashed its traditional two-week hiatus for factory workers in half at four of its plants, while both Chrysler and General Motors will keep factories running nonstop (two plants in Chrysler's case and a third of GM's factories).
This is, as we said, thanks to some positive numbers. Chief among those is the Seasonal Adjusted Annual Rate, which was at an eight-year high of 17 million units. Individual figures were less promising. GM, embroiled in its recall scandal, still saw a one-percent increase while Ford dropped six percent in year-over-year sales. Chrysler was the big winner, though, with a nine-percent jump in June.
