1946 Ford COE, 1.5 ton.  Has a 1939 grill (AS SEEN IN PICTURES).  390 T-Bird motor, 4 speed.  Has 13 ft. steel flat bed with hoist (no leaks, will stay up for days without dropping).  This would be an awesome truck to build, I am selling so I am able to put money into my business.  Has all window in working order, there cracks in the side windows, they do roll up and down, front windows tilt out as you can see in the pictures, no rot arond the windows. THis is a very solid truck.  It sat all winter, and I started it right up and drove it out of the pasture no problem.  The brakes work but with no assist, the E-Brake works.  I am in the process of getting the title from the state, so a title will be available with the purchase.  Very little rust, any place that there is rust, they make after market replacement panels.  This truck is pretty near dent free.  Please see the pictures.  I have taken pictures of the areas that most will rust in or be beat up in, and you can see in the pics that this truck is very solid and very restorable or drive as is.  The throw out bearing is froze up, you have to shut it off to shift it. I will be working on that, and may be able to get it freed up.  My dream was to make a car hauler with this, however, I have 6 other projects I am working on, and this is the most valuable and has great potential.  This is a very sweet truck!   This truck was last licensed and on the road in 1990.

**Also available is an original 1946 Ford Flat Head V-8 motor that needs a rebuild, that can go with the truck if interested.

If you have questions, please call me.  Tony 507-272-6720.  We are in Harmony, MN.   I have hauled this on a 20 ft car trailer with no problems.  Will request that a down payment of $500 be put on paypal within 3 days of purchase, and the remaining balance be paid in cash at pick up (within 7 days of purchase) unless other arrangements are made.  I can help load this when it is picked up.  Buyer is responsible to pick up.

On Apr-17-14 at 11:27:53 PDT, seller added the following information:

This is a 1947, the VIN # starts with 799T.  I have added more pics of the interior.  I do have the entire dog house that goes over the engine, see pics.  Again, if questions- please call or text me at 507-272-6720, Tony.

Thanks and happy bidding.

****Please note- I apologize for this inconvenience- this is a 1947- I just did more research on the codes, and it is a 1947- all the rest of this info is the same!!! Ford gets out of car subscriptions, sells Canvas to rival Fair

Tue, Sep 17 2019

Ford says it’s selling its Canvas subscription service to competitor Fair, getting out of the subscription game after less than three years. Terms of the deal were not announced. Ford acquired Canvas in 2016 as a wholly-owned subsidiary based in San Francisco as a service to pilot subscriptions to Ford and Lincoln vehicles, eventually rolling out to Los Angeles and Dallas. The company said it had amassed around 3,800 subscribers in that time, who will have the opportunity to join Fair when their current subscriptions end and will receive more information from both subscription companies. But that number pales in comparison with Santa Monica, California-based Fair, which claims more than 45,000 subscriptions in 30 markets since launching in 2017. Ford was always fairly quiet about Canvas, and Automotive News last year reported that Lincoln executives expressed surprise over soft demand, saying that subscribers were looking for short-term solutions and often dropped out after just a few months. Ford is also in cost-cutting mode under CEO Jim HackettÂ’s $11 billion restructuring plan. The Blue Oval joins Cadillac, which put its $1,800-a-month Book By Cadillac subscription service on ice late last year, citing higher costs and fewer customers than expected. Cadillac has pledged to eventually relaunch the service as a pilot in select cities, but mumÂ’s been the word since. More recently, VolvoÂ’s Care by Volvo subscription service has come under scrutiny from dealers and an investigation from the California Department of Motor Vehicles and has made changes to its program. Thought it also has added the XC60, XC90 and V60 to the list of available vehicles. Fair touts itself as a “commitment-free” solution, with all-inclusive plans covering 24-7 roadside assistance, routine maintenance, insurance and other perks. It uses a mobile app to get customers prequalified, and it analyzes their eligibility and targets an affordable range of monthly payments. Customers then shop for cars and sign up for one via an initial payment that ranges by vehicle type, with the ability to keep the cars as long as they want and drop the service at any time. It peddles used cars from more than 30 different brands, none more than six years old or with more than 70,000 miles on the odometer. Fair on Tuesday announced it has raised $500 million in loans from a group of creditors, including Mizuho Bank and Japan's SoftBank, as it looks to expand its leasing services to Uber drivers.

Ford and GM link bonus checks to quality scores

Tue, 29 Apr 2014

The poor first quarter earnings of Ford and General Motors are having an effect all the way up the food chain. Both automakers struggled with recalls in the first three months of the year, and, according to The Detroit News, they have responded by increasing the percentage of bonuses tied to vehicle quality for salaried workers, including top executives.
GM announced that 25 percent of bonuses (up from 10 percent) for all salaried workers would be tied to its vehicle quality standards. The automaker revealed in its financial report that it spent $1.3 billion on recall-related repairs in the first quarter, and net income was down 86 percent.
Ford also increased the quality proportion of bonuses for about 26,000 salaried workers all the way up to CEO Alan Mulally from 10 percent to 20 percent. The company announced in its report that the amount paid out in warranty and recall claims was about $400 million higher than expected in the first quarter. Its net income fell 39 percent from the previous year. "The change reflects how critical quality is to our overall business," said spokesperson Todd Nissen speaking to Autoblog.
