I have a 1945 Ford pick up that I got from the 2nd owner (a family friend)-he had it since the early 1960's. his kids drove it to high school, then sometime in the late 70's the original flathead died and was removed. the truck sat in the barn unitl a few years back and then he had to push it outside to make room for another truck. He couldn't bear to let it sit and rot, so he sold it to me. I have too many projects and after buying it, I realized I don't have the time to invest in it.
condition-the truck is super straight. I'll start at the front and work my way back
the grille bars have a few bent ones, but look good and they are all there. the front fenders are straight and virtually rust free- there are a few really small bubbles of rust where the running board meets the fenders (pretty unnoticable and minor but it is there) the hood is great, the hood latch works. the hinges work without binding. the cab has one cab corner that has rust through-it is the size of an index finger about 3 inches by 1 inch. other than that it is great. dent free! there is a small drilled hole in the roof where a spot light was mounted (this was a GV-Government vehicle) there is no rot or rust around the 1/8 inch hole but again it is there so I don't want anyone to be surprised. the bed is surprisingly straight. the bed rails and front panel are in great condition. the stake pockets have a bit of rust through in the bottoms of each one. holes about the size of a quarter. the wood needs to be replaced. there is no tailgate. Running boards are really nice as well. the bottoms of the doors have some rust bubbles as well.
the inside of the cab is original, down to the key in the ignition. The guage panel is all there, the floor boards are great. the dash is great as well-a little rust on the defrost slat on the drivers side. the seat looks bad, but the springs have good bounce and a little padding and a seat cover or Mexican blanket and you are set to go.door panels are all present along with the handles which all work.
the motor is long gone (not present) the transmission is there with the bellhousing to hook up to a flathead 8. the rear end turns freely. stock steel rims, all four tires hold air. there is no drive line however. the underneath is solid, no issues.
black plate California truck. comes with a clean bill of sale. this is a honest representation of this truck. it is a great solid start for a restoration, hot rod, or rat rod. feel free to email any questions. you may have. a $500 deposit is due via paypal within 48 hours of the close of auction. the rest is due before the car leaves my house(within 1 week after the close of auction) the truck is in my driveway-I don't care how you get it but that is where it is and I cannot help transport in anyway. I will however make myself available to meet any driver or new owner at my house whenever they need to get the truck home.
Check out my feedback and you will see that I am an honest seller and a good ebayer.
good luck

Jay Leno is far beyond driven in his 1971 Pantera
Mon, 23 Jun 2014Perhaps it's fitting that the band Pantera is known for its heavy metal music, because the DeTomaso Pantera is the automotive equivalent of a metal album. It's short, aggressive and makes a mean sound. It doesn't mess around either, with a Ford 351-cubic-inch (5.75-liter) V8 sending mountains of torque to the rear wheels. This week, Jay Leno takes us on a detailed tour of his '71 to show why it rocks.
There's a regular format to Jay Leno's Garage. It starts with Jay and maybe a guest taking a look at the car and talking about its history, and then they take it out on the open road. However, this video is practically a Pantera buyer's guide. Jay is adamant from the start that the last thing anyone should own is a stock example. To remedy this, he and his guest, the editor of the Pantera Club magazine, take viewers to school about some of the ways to turn them into even better performance machines.
No matter what you do to it, though, the Pantera requires that the driver adapt to it, not the other way around. For example, Jay isn't a big guy by most standards, but he has to cram himself into the cockpit with his shoes off and shirt partially unbuttoned just to go for a drive. Still, once out on the road, it all makes sense with that rumbling V8 and those Italian supercar looks. Scroll down to watch and learn a lot more about this uncompromising '70s performance car.
Ford recalling 205k Edge and Lincoln MKX units for possible corrosion
Thu, 30 Oct 2014After the horrible weather last winter, it's hard to look forward for the season to return this year. For those readers in much of the country, the snow is going to be flying soon, and with it comes salt on the roads. That means Ford's regional recall for the 2007-2008 Edge and Lincoln MKX arrives at the perfect time because they are at risk for corrosion.
The campaign covers 204,448 examples of the models in 21 states, plus the District of Columbia and some provinces of Canada. In total there are 186,024 vehicles in need of repair in the US and 18,424 in Canada.
According to Ford, it's possible for the area, "under the reinforcement brackets where the fuel tank is mounted" to corrode. If this happens, there might be a gas smell in the vehicle or even a fuel leak could develop. In fact, the automaker reports that one fire could be related to the problem but no injuries or accidents are reported.
Ford Figo concept unveiled in India
Mon, 03 Feb 2014Ford has officially unveiled the Figo Concept at the 2014 Auto Expo in New Delhi. While it may wear a concept badge, we'd argue this little sedan, which is under 12 feet long, looks ready to replace the current Figo and do battle with other B-segment cars in the world's emerging markets.
"With the Figo Concept, we are showing that choosing a compact sedan does not mean compromising on premium design or smart solutions," said Kumar Galhotra, Ford's VP of engineering, global product development. That premium design includes Ford's familial, trapezoidal grille and Fusion-esque headlights in front, while the rear end reminds us of the last-generation Focus Coupe. While that car wasn't exactly attractive, the chopped off tail looks pretty nice on this smaller car. And if you really don't like the looks of the Figo Concept, just remember - it looks better than the current production model. Aerodynamically, the Figo's shape is quite slippery, which means reduced wind noise and improved fuel economy.
As for the "smart solutions" touted by Galhotra, the narrow confines of Indian streets make driving even the tiniest cars a challenge. To give the Figo Concept a one-up on the competition, Ford has fitted power-folding mirrors that sport a "flexible architecture," which should stand up well to bumps from cars, people or bikes. We don't have any interior images, but Ford is promising a large cabin, that includes a dock that can accommodate a phone or MP3 player, allowing either to be controlled through the car.
