A perfect example of Ford and Shelby joining together to create another iconic marvel of pony car muscle!

This red and silver GT500KR is car #551 of 712.

Following the adage, “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it,” the 2009 KR received the same 540-horsepower, supercharged 5.4-liter V-8 engine as the 08's, with a Ford Racing Power Upgrade Package supplying the extra 40 horses from the standard GT500. A Ford Racing Handling Package included revised springs, adjustable dampers, beefier stabilizer bars and a strut tower brace. The addition of 3:73 rear gears, short-throw shifter, plus KR-specific exterior treatments such as unique wheels and tires, a special composite hood with hood pins and unique Shelby stripes and badging further enhanced the SVT magic already present in the GT500.

The 2009 GT500KR didn’t receive the same "40th Anniversary" badges found on the 2008 model, but with a production run of just over 700 vehicles (of which 541 were slated for sale in the U.S.), the 2009 GT500KR is not only among the most powerful factory Mustangs ever built, but also one of the rarest.

This GT500KR is very clean and has been well taken care of. Never driven in the rain and has been in the family since new. It drives better than it looks. Never damaged or repainted.

If you have ever driven one of these you know the power and excitement they create.

All of the original documentation is included, including both the original keys and fobs and the original dealers purchase order.

Inspections are welcomed and can be arranged. For inspections or questions regarding the GT500KR please call 650 704 0555

This is one of the "Shelby" GT500KR's that were made while Carroll Shelby was alive and involved in the project. Its not a 2013 or 14 with a 662 HP, its not the latest style but believe me this car will get you in just as much trouble and just as fast and its a "Shelby" GT500KR" serial numbered, signed, authentic, and very, very well taken care of.

Thank you for looking!

Reflecting on the Ford GT on its 10-year anniversary

Thu, 10 Apr 2014

Ten years ago, during the bright-eyed enthusiasm of the early 2000s and before the collective automotive industry did its best Titanic impression, we had the Ford GT. An everyman's supercar like there'd never been (remember, this was before 638-horsepower Corvettes were a thing), the GT arrived with a supercharged, 5.4-liter V8 that produced 550 horsepower and graced this retro-styled rocket with an easy, sub-four-second sprint to 60 miles per hour.
Equal to the GT's performance were its looks. Inspired by the GT40 racers that dominated Le Mans and bested Ferrari in the 1960s, the sleek, low, almost-reptilian look of the GT was the absolute pinnacle of the retro styling that so defined the early 2000s.
Crank and Piston put together a video celebrating the ten-year-old GT, arguing that Ford is a bit too busy with the next-gen Mustang, which turns 50 next week, to do it themselves. In the short clip, there is gratuitous engine noise and supercharger whine, not to mention scenes of the white-on-red GT prowling the deserts and streets of Dubai. It's a bit short, but very nicely shot. Scroll down, have a look and be sure to turn up those speakers before getting started.

Ford owns Automotive Loyalty Awards, Audi and Subaru are king of conquests

Thu, 23 Jan 2014

Customers are a commodity in the automotive industry, and like any other commodity, automakers trade them back and forth. Only nobody wants to give up their customers - just to keep the ones they have and try to attract others.
That's what the Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards are all about. Every year the industry research body names the automakers, brands and models that manage to keep their customers coming back for more - and attract buyers to switch from other makes. Ford usually does pretty well, but this year it rose above even its own track record.
Not only did Dearborn win the Overall Loyalty to Manufacturer award, but also the Overall Loyalty to Make. Ford also took the African American category, and the F-150 was named the top full-size half-ton pickup in customer loyalty. Ford COO Mark Fields (pictured above) accepted the awards and gave the keynote address at the awards ceremony.

Ford Focus RS ready to make our hot hatch dreams real

Fri, 17 Oct 2014

Ford's current hot hatch siblings the Fiesta ST and Focus ST are already two pretty great entries into the segment, but there's always a desire for a little more. Thankfully, it looks like the Blue Oval is ready to satiate that need because it's continuing to test the even more powerful Focus RS around Europe. According to our spy shooters, these shots come from near the Nürburgring.
As with previous photos, Ford engineers continue to heavily camouflage the front end of the RS prototypes, but there's a big difference here. Unlike earlier ones, this example appears to have a closer-to-production-ready front bumper rather than just a horizontal strip for the license plate. That may point to development getting somewhat closer to wrapping up. Although, this one lacks the larger rear wing from prior testers, and the exhaust also appears to be a work in progress with the rear diffuser covered in mesh in these latest shots.
The RS is rumored to be using the 2.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder from the 2015 Mustang, but power is reportedly turned up from 310 horsepower in the 'Stang to somewhere between 325 hp and 350 hp for the Focus. Routing all that just through the front wheels could be a recipe for serious torque steer, and all-wheel drive is potentially being used for better traction.
