Ford Mustang Gt on 2040-cars
Tampa, Florida, United States
1988 Ford Mustang GT, 5.0, 5-Speed, 77k Original Miles. This car is in great condition for it’s age. This car was not daily driven by myself or the previous owner and was garage kept by both. The car starts up on the first turn of the key, idles smoothly, and drives easily. The only modifications to this car are 3.73 gears, Flowmaster exhaust, 5 lug conversion and the staggered Cobra R 17" wheels. Original white paint that still shines like new. The silver on the bottom was repainted once, but is still in good condition with a few minor scratches and some minor chipping on the passenger side door (see pictures). No rust or frame damage and car still has the original VIN stickers on the major body panels. The interior is flawless and in like new condition. No rips or stains of any kind. The car has an aftermarket stereo system with a Kenwood CD player that has a usb port with Ipod direct connect. The engine fires up easily and runs smoothly. The Flowmasters sound awesome with that low muscular tone. Transmission shifts great and I’ve never had any problems with the car since I’ve owned it. The car does have a slight oil leak – I believe it’s coming from the oil pan. The wheels are in great condition, and the Cooper tires are brand new with less than 100 miles on them. The car brakes and stops as it should with no squealing coming from the brakes - the front brakes were replaced and rotors turned 3 months ago. The A/C works great and blows cold, the heat also works as it should.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards
Fri, 22 Feb 2013The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.

Project Ugly Horse: Part IX

Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another.
Chuck Schwynoch had been patiently listening to my ramblings on the other end of the phone for a solid half hour. I'm not too big of a man to know when to ask for help, and at this point, I desperately needed some assistance. The truth is, working on a machine like a Fox Body Mustang is as easy as breathing thanks to the wealth of information available on the web. Nearly every flavor of exotic driveline has been shoved into the ubiquitous Ford at some point or another, and odds are the sorry souls behind those builds shared the highs and lows of their torment with the internet community.
