Ford Mustang 1989 Gt Convertible Red Vert Fox Extremely Clean No Rust Non Smoker on 2040-cars
Celina, Ohio, United States
One owner for 24 years plus me. Extremely Clean Red GT Convertible. 25th Anniversary. Video: (Copy & Paste): http://youtu.be/q9TrjRyf-m4nbsp Very hard to find "Manual Shifter" Christmas Mustang. This vehicle is also listed on Autotrader, Cars.com and Craigslist. Don't let the mileage scare you. These 302 engines are just about bullet proof. If maintained properly, and this one has been, these motors are known to easily run a couple hundred thousand miles and more. And if you want a motor a bit fresher with more power, this is a perfect car for that. You don't have to do anything to it. No restoration necessary. You will not be disappointed with this car. The Details: Extremely Clean. Car show ready. Non Smoker. Everything is there. Unmolested, right down to the factory air silencer. Stored the last 5 years. Went in storage in 2008. Everything works great. Drives perfect. Very strong motor. I have a binder about an inch thick on all the service and maintenance records. The original owner was a stickler for having things "Right". He even had the drivers side power window "motor" replaced. Now who does that? Everyone I know would just push the mirror with their thumb to adjust it. Original window sticker and owners manuals. Never wrecked. Always stored in climate controlled garage. Put in storage in 2008. All new Leather seats in 2007. (1 yr. before it went into storage) New Convertible Top in 2007. " " New Exterior Paint in 2007. New top cylinder/motor in 2007. New white convertible boot cover. New in black leather bag. This car was ordered from the factory with every option available in 1989. The car runs perfect and has no issues. The car ran perfect when I picked it up. I drove it 260 miles back home. But, I too, like things "right". And I like to "know" things are right. So.... I am a gear head and before putting it up for sale I gave it a little tune up for the new buyer. I like things to be right and don't want the new owner to have to do anything but enjoy driving it right away. Plus, I just like tinkering. Recent tune up: 10/15/2013 New: Spark plugs and wires. MSD cap & rotor. Cleaned Mass Air Sensor. Cleaned all air intake pipes. Cleaned throttle body and EGR. New Air filter. New Ignition Coil. New Accessory Belt. Changed fuel filter. Changed Oil & Oil Filter. New upper and lower radiator hose. New radiator cap. New oil pressure sending unit. New water temp. sending unit. Radiator flush. New battery terminals. I washed it and waxed it for you. I vacuumed and armoralled it for you. Some issues: *The tires have a lot of tread left on them and plenty of miles left in them, but the rear tires are slightly cupped. Between 50 mph and 55 mph you will feel a slight vibration in the rear. Before and after 50 - 55 they're smooth. *The seat belt plastic sheaths are starting to split. *The clear coat on the rims could use a little touch up after 24 years. Check pics. I have looked very carefully for door dings or dents. I haven't been able to find any. The body panels are in great condition. I have been fixing up and tinkering with Fox Bodied Mustangs for twenty years. I love them and really enjoy them. I take a lot of pride in each Mustang that I have and I take pride in getting each one in proper shape for any new buyer and home. This Mustang runs great. I would not hesitate to drive it any where. Use my plates for the drive home and mail them back when you get there. This Mustang is a "Drivers Car". Don't just park it in your garage. Drive it and enjoy it. That is why it was made. Have fun and enjoy life. Any questions please let me know. David 419 7three3 33zero7. Thanks for looking. Good luck. This vehicle is sold "As Is, where is" with no warranties expressed or implied. 2016 Ford Explorer configurator reveals $30,700* base price, Platinum starts at $52,600*
Wed, Nov 26 2014The a la carte menu for the 2016 Ford Explorer is ready for your... umm... exploring. The first page of the refreshed model's configurator reveals the lineup, including the new Platinum trim, and price increases for three of the carryover models. The base Explorer doesn't change by one red cent: it can still be had for $30,700. The XLT needs $33,400 (a $400 price bump), the Limited goes for $41,300 (a not insignificant $2,900 price increase), and the Sport requires $43,300 (a $200 increase). That new Platinum model goes where no Explorer MSRP has gone before, beginning at $52,600 (*all prices are subject to an $895 destination charge). However, since Ford has put almost everything in it, you can't jack the price up too much further unless you lose your mind in the accessories catalog. You can quickly head that way lower down the order, though. The Limited's price jump appears to be due to the voice-activated navigation system, which comes standard; it was formerly part of a $2,600 option package. The Limited goes up by just $995 when specced with the new 2.3-liter EcoBoost, which raises the power over the 2.0-liter EcoBoost it replaces to 270 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, but doesn't incur any fuel economy penalty. All-wheel drive tacks on another $2,000, safety features like active park assist and lane departure warning come as part of $3,000 Equipment Group A, and you'll still have another three pages of options to get through. On the other hand, if you just want to get your family bundle into an Explorer without spending a bundle, the base model doesn't offer any packages and only has one option over $200. Let the research begin.
2015 Ford S-Max adds all-wheel drive, adaptive steering
Fri, 03 Oct 2014The Blue Oval's 'One Ford' mantra has seen rapid commonization of the automaker's products across markets, but North America still has to look from afar at most of the company's Max-branded people movers, including this new S-Max. That's a bit of a shame - we like the space efficiency and above-average driving dynamics of the C-Max models we do get, but seeing this updated seven-seat small minivan makes us want the One Ford initiative to extend even further.
The new model's changes include an updated powertrain range including a 1.5-liter EcoBoost four with 158 horsepower, and a larger, 237-horsepower, 2.0-liter model, along with a pair of revised lower-emissions 2.0-liter diesels. The big news, however, is the advent of available all-wheel drive, something that hasn't been offered since the S-Max first went on sale back in 2006.
On the technology front, the S-Max is the first European model to receive Ford Adaptive Steering, a variable-ratio technology we recently sampled in a prototype Fusion that is expected to go into production on the next-generation Edge. The S-Max also receives a new aluminum-intensive integral link rear suspension, packaged to continue to fit up to 32 different seating combinations. Safety equipment is always a prime concern in kinschleppers like the S-Max, and to that end, this new model receives pre-collision assist technology and LED headlamps.
Lower gas prices mean there are excellent deals on green cars right now
Sat, Jan 17 2015The phenomenon was big enough to make news in 2006, then in 2008, in 2011, in 2012, in 2013, and again last year: a big move in gas prices means a big move in alternative-fuel-vehicle sales. True Car's TrueSavings report, which averages transaction prices across the country to figure out what people are paying compared to MSRP, shows that electric cars and hybrids are ripe for excellent savings right now. The Ford Focus Electric presents the greatest disparity, with the average transaction price of $25,168 representing a 16.1-percent saving off its $29,995 MSRP. The Kia Optima Hybrid and Toyota Prius also snagged spots in the top five, with the Kia offering a 10.7-percent discount and the Toyota a 10.1-percent discount. One hybrid managed to show up among the top five lease offers, too: the Lincoln MKZ Hybrid is just $315 a month for 36 months after $3,875 down in some markets. Alt-energy vehicles got bumped out of the top five finance deals, however. That was dominated by light trucks and, oddly, two subcompacts. The press release below has more details. TrueCar finds hybrids, EVs top list of best savings in January Gasoline price plunge = savings for consumers on alternative fuel vehicles SANTA MONICA, Calif., Jan. 15, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Ford's Focus Electric hatchback, which sells at an average of 16 percent off MSRP, tops January's list of best savings on new vehicles, according to TrueCar, Inc. (NASDAQ: TRUE), the negotiation-free car buying and selling platform. The "TrueSavings" monthly report analyzes current transaction prices and identifies opportunities for consumer savings. "Fuel savings are not top of mind to many consumers right now, and that makes this a great time to buy a hybrid or electric vehicle," said John Krafcik, president of TrueCar. "With gasoline prices now averaging just $2.10 per gallon, and vehicle preferences tied so closely to short-term gasoline prices, automakers are heavily discounting their most fuel-efficient cars to clear inventories." Toyota's Prius, the world's best-selling alternative fuel vehicle for more than a decade, also makes January's list of best savings. Customers who purchase a Prius Two model this month can save 10 percent off the hybrid car's $25,025 MSRP. "Gasoline prices and vehicle type preferences are strongly related, and this relationship is cyclical in nature," said Krafcik.
