This one of a kind custom was built about 3 years ago and has been kept indoors and never driven or used with the exception of test drives around the block while improvements were made. And occasionally moved in and out of the garage for other projects. As I am in my 50's its time to make some room and start bleeding off some toys. The car was built to be a cross country (cannonball) type with a distinctive 60's style motif. Car is all old school ,and gives off a model car look in appearance, no power windows , no power locks, no cruise,no tilt.no injectors ,no computer. The car does have PS,PB,AC and a Gibraltor AOD trans with B@M shift kit. Motor is 30+ with Comp cam and Edelbrock carb with manual choke and shorty headers.Radiator is new as is trans cooler and heater core.About 700 miles have been put on drive train. Rear is 8" Ford Racing 31 spline 373 with Moser axles, and all new bushings About 300 miles on rear end. .Hurst line loc brakes, Car has been fitted with welded bracing under front bumper for tow hooks (loops unscrew until needed) Also locking hood pins and flex support bar under hood.Seats are light weight 3R Racing.  4 point roll bar ,,5 point harness , sub frame connectors,HD ujoints, and drive shaft loop. Adjustable NOS system 75-100-125 (bottle never filled or used on car) and fire ext. Imperial electric aux fan, Electric fuel pump and Monroe air shocks on rear. 5 new over sized Firestone's to handle all road conditions.Aux gas tank in rear for extended range is 8 gal and will need to be plumed if used.New TRW rack 2.2 replaces ford 3.0 rack.also new PS lines. All custom body panels are hand built . Rear bumper is 71 model narrowed. Custom interior features are built in dash vac gauge and early style Ford speedo. Valet key on dash operates "RAM AIR" flaps on hood and NOS system under full throttle.LED under wipers shows active. Push button start and 66 style wheel with matching wood on door panels and console . During resto all rubber for doors, windows, and hatch were replaced along with rubber bumpers for doors ,hatch, hood, gas door and even glove box. Door bushings as were door lock cyl and even decals on glass were replaced. At this point it easier to say what has not been replaced...Glass,steering column,PS pump, wiring harness, and AC compressor,(they work fine) Everything else is under 3 years of age and unused. Battery ,starter, cables,Sol, Distributor are under 5 months . The car is not perfect,,as nothing is. The paint is about an 8.5 (tried to show in pics) Some chem reaction during painting on roof pillar (see pics) Was going to fix but just never got too it. I do have matching touch up though. The windshield took a blow from a pair of pliers and has a small split right in the line of sight ,about half inch (will replace if bought at asking price) This car was lovingly built and has no issues. No leaks ,no funny noises.Everything works .It is not like so many others out there that have been run hard and put up wet...In fact interior still retains new car smell. This car is being sold as an "unused car" and is ready to be put in service or just tinkered with as I have. With that being said I must say this implies no warranty(I would if I could) Car comes with second set of head lights if you like the 4 eyed look better. I listed this car back a few months ago and was swamped by "how did you do this... and what did you use there" so I can do that to mine questions.... These won't be answered.Serious buyer questions will. Buyers must...have cash, character, conviction ,and check with wife,or neighbors dog before bidding. Please./ Any non responsive or bad past bidders will be deleted.May take"part" interesting trade if you pay freight or willing to drive here.GA is a non title state and car is sold with bill of sale. $500 within 24.to winning bidder /TIM 678-648-8748

Xcar shows how to drive the Ford Model T

Wed, Jan 21 2015

A couple of weeks ago Xcar posted a teaser review of the Ford Model T, a look at what the British duo would have been doing if they'd been doing their thing for 100 years. Now we have their complete, 12-minute take on the what might be, as they say, "arguably the most important car of the 20th century." Thankfully, instead of just a review, Xcar spends about half the time giving us a tour of history, from Ford's early days working for the Edison Illuminating Company to his racing days and founding of several car companies that either died or became other car companies after he left, like Cadillac. They also line up the pieces and the sales realities that led to Ford implementing – not creating, mind you – assembly-line production of the Tin Lizzie. And then they get into how crazy it is to drive, like how a driver needs two of the three pedals, the handbrake lever and a steering column stalk to get into high gear. Enjoy the video above on a 100-year-old car that is "unbelievably comfortable," "mildly terrifying" and ready to do just about anything.

eBay Find of the Day: 1987 Ford Thunderbird Turbo Coupe is showroom fresh

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

There's an ultra-rare Ford Thunderbird for sale on eBay, although it's not quite the T-Bird you're probably thinking. This is a 1987 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe, complete with a five-speed manual transmission and just a shade over 13,000 miles on the clock. The condition is said to be mint, and judging by the interior and exterior pictures, we're inclined to believe the seller. The paint is glossy and the interior looks showroom new, while the underbody is stunningly clean for a 36-year-old car.
Underhood sits a 2.3-liter, intercooled and turbocharged four-cylinder (also found in the Mustang SVO) that was producing 190 horsepower when it left the factory. Inside, the five-speed manual transmission adds to the car's rarity. The vehicle's sole owner has been as immaculate with the paperwork as he has with the rest of the car - it's all there, including brochures and other product material.
The eBay auction ends tomorrow at midnight (9:00 PM if you're on America's west coast). Bidding has reached $10,200, and there's still plenty of time to get in on this future classic. The vehicle is located in Millstone Township, NJ.

From Expedition to Navigator: our predictions for Lincoln's SUV

Tue, Feb 7 2017

In the midst of all the buzz surrounding the new aluminum Ford Expedition and Expedition Max, we remembered the other large SUV the Ford Motor Company showed last year, the Lincoln Navigator concept. And since the Navigator has historically been built on the Expedition platform, we figured there's no better time to focus some of our predictions for the big Lincoln. First off, let's take a look at design. Having seen the new Expedition, we're fairly confident that the Navigator will look almost exactly like its concept. The strong similarities between two mean the Expedition serves as a preview of what a production Navigator will look like. For example, both vehicles' greenhouses we can see that the shape of the C-pillars are nearly identical. The only difference is that the Expedition's are painted body color, while the Navigator's are painted black. Additionally, the character line running along the top of the doors on both vehicles is roughly the same height. The same goes for the more subtle crease near the bottom of the doors. We also see no reason why Lincoln wouldn't use the full width taillights, fender vent, and grille treatment it used on the concept. Those are all easy design changes to create differentiation, and they're all right inline with the cues set by the Continental. View 15 Photos For powertrain, we're pretty certain the 400-horsepower 3.5-liter EcoBoost V6 previewed on the concept is a certainty now. The Expedition and Expedition Max will be offered with a 3.5-liter EcoBoost as well, so we know it will fit. We expect the Expedition's engine will produce 375 horsepower and 470 lb-ft of torque as it does in the F-150. That's less power than the Navigator concept, but it would be reasonable to make the production Navigator a bit more powerful than its lowly Ford brethren to help justify the increased price tag. Towing capacity will probably be about the same between the Ford and Lincoln, which should be something over 9,000 pounds. The Navigator will probably use the same two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive drivetrains, too. Inside is where the Expedition and Navigator will likely differ the most, particularly in seating. The Expedition offers seating for up to eight with an available second-row bench seat, and the Navigator concept had captain's chairs for every row. We're expecting the Navigator will only offer second-row captain's chairs since the cramped third row would be a waste of nice buckets.
