My name is James and recently I have been thinking about selling my 2011 Mustang GT Convertible. I'm in no rush to sell but think I want something different now.

The car is in immaculate condition with a black gloss exterior, black soft top, black interior, and black leather seats. Everything works great on the car and it rides STRONG, no mechanical issues or faulty equipment. This Mustang GT Convertible has a 6sp automatic transmission perfect for daily driving and track use (Fastest track cars are automatics). It also only has 35,000 miles.
I bought the car in February of 2013 in PA (No front tag holes) and have since made some modifications to this coyote:

- The Boss 302 Laguna Seca front end. (To include both the bottom fascia and front splitter) [$950]
- A Roush Racing Spoiler painted with factory code paint. [$350 unpainted]
- An MMD Styling Bar for when the convertible top is down. [$200]
-Borla Atak Axle Back Exhaust [$850]
- JPC Racing Over Axle Pipes [$350] (These delete the stock resignators producing way a more aggressive tone)
*Will provide stock pipes and mufflers*

The car sounds amazing and is everything you would want out of a Mustang! I cannot tell you how many compliments I get on this car, especially its sound! I've have always been a car guy and especially been into Mustangs, so buy with confidence that this car has never been beat on or mistreated. Always cleaned and taken care of. Oil changed on time if not early with only Mobile 1 Synthetic. 4x matching practically brand new Eagle GT tires

If you are not a fan of the laguna splitter do not fear, it is easily removed and could even be re-sold for a nice profit.

I'm selling this car for a good friend of mine!  All emails will be forwarded to the owner.  You can reach the owner directly via email: JDrocks19@hotmail.com

Ford to build Explorer in Russia to meet demand [w/video]

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

The current Ford Explorer is sold in more than 64 countries, and this three-row vehicle continues to grow in popularity worldwide. To keep up with demand, Ford began producing the Explorer at Ford Sollers Elabuga Assembly Plant in Tatarstan, Russia, a joint venture facility. This partnership will build Russian-market Explorers only, and production of export vehicles not destined for Russian buyers will continue to be built at Ford's assembly plant in Chicago.
Before this plant went online, Ford would ship Explorers to Russia (and other regions around the world) as partially assembled knock-down units where final assembly would eventually take place. While there is no indication as to how many Explorers Ford Sollers will build for Russia, Ford did add that exports of the SUV were up 65 percent last year (from 2011) accounting for more than 24,000 units.
Scroll down for a press release about the Russian Explorer as well as a video (bad music and all) showing the SUV being produced in Tatarstan.

Jaguar design boss admits X-Type was a mistake

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

History has a way of repeating itself, especially in the auto industry. When Jaguar was owned by Ford, the British brand attempted to field a competitor for the BMW 3 Series, called the X-Type. Based on the bones of a Ford Mondeo, it aped the styling of Jaguar's flagship model, the XJ, while borrowing liberally from the Ford parts bin. That was 2001.
Now, in 2013, Jaguar is planning a new 3 Series challenger based on the platform previewed by the C-X17 Concept, while Ford is attempting to take the latest Mondeo upmarket. The moves have both brands recognizing where, why, and how the X-Type failed. "It didn't look mature or powerful or anything. It was just a car," Jaguar's current head of advanced design, Julian Thomson, told PistonHeads. Basing the X-Type on a front-drive car while giving it styling that was meant for a rear-driver lead to proportions that "were plainly wrong," Thomson told PH. Ford's European head of quality, Gunnar Herrmann, added that the X-Type was "a fake Jaguar, because every piece I touch is Ford."
For what it's worth, the X-Type's successor in the segment will sport rear-drive, with plenty of input from Ian Callum. Thomson described the new model, which would challenge the 3 Series as having, "Big wheels right to the ends of the car, low bonnet, short overhangs, very low cabins." Sounds good to us.

Ford rethinking vehicle launch strategy

Tue, 07 May 2013

With a new boss at the helm, Ford is looking at new ways to improve its vehicle launches in North America to prevent recent issues that have popped up with models like the Lincoln MKZ, Ford Escape and Ford Fusion. Speaking with Automotive News, Ford's new president of the Americas, Joe Hinrichs, revealed a few ways the automaker plans to avoid early build issues such as the engine fires on certain 2013 Escape and Fusion models and months-long delays for customers to receive their MKZs.
It sounds like the root of the problems may have been Ford's relationship with suppliers compounded by the fact that the product surge came on the heels of the recent industry-crippling recession, and in the AN article, Hinrichs says improvements are being made to reduce problems during the launch of new or redesigned models. Three such improvements that were implemented during the first quarter of this year including more rigorous quality comparisons, better use of computer technology to catch major problems sooner and hiring engineers to work closer with suppliers.
