You are bidding on a used 2006 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible.  At under 40,000 miles, this vehicle has only been driven an average of about 5600 miles per year.  This vehicle is Windveil Blue - a now rare color option that was only produced for the 2006 model year.  The top is black and the interior is black leather.  Overall the vehicle is in great condition.  I am the third owner - I bought it from a 56 year old guy in 2009, and he bought it from an older man, so it has been mature adult driven its entire life.  It is 100% stock as it rolled off the factory floor - the only modifications are a Ford Racing strut tower brace under the hood, and a K&N Air filter in the stock air breather box.  This is a fine example of an unmolested vehicle that has not been abused.  It has been garaged indoors its entire life as far as I can tell.  I have all the original documentation that came with the vehicle new, including the owners manual and window sticker.  I even have the service history since the car was new.  Both sets of keys are included in the sale.  I replaced the original equipment tires in February 2011, and they now have 13,468 miles on them - plenty of tread left.  The tires are Michelin Pilot Sport AS+ 235/50R18 97Y - High Performance, they grip great.  I replaced the original  battery in April of this year, so the battery is new.  The only major mechanical repairs to the vehicle were done under warrantee by the dealer - lower control arms were replaced @ 32632 miles back in March of 2012.  I understand this was a common issue with Mustangs.  The rear brakes were also replaced by the dealer at the same time.  The car is mechanically sound, and comes with the following options:

Shaker 500 Audio System - Includes 6 CD Changer

5 Speed Automatic Transmission

Black Convertible Roof

Interior Upgrade Package

Rear Spoiler Delete

California Emissions System

18" Premium Aluminum Wheels with Pony Center Caps

There are no major dents - one minor ding on the front bumper, and a minor (barely visible to the untrained eye) ding on the left rear quarter panel.  You really have to look for that one.  A couple of minor scratches in the paint - they could all come out with a compound and polish.  A couple of the rims are slightly scratched from grazing a curb, but it is only minor cosmetic.  Otherwise the vehicle is clean and straight.

The only reason I am selling this vehicle is because it is my wife's car, and I bought her an Audi.  Now she says she doesn't "Need" it anymore, and has instructed me to sell it, which I am doing reluctantly.  The vehicle is located in New City NY, and available for inspection.  I am also reserving the right to end the auction early, as the vehicle is also for sale locally.

This is a great vehicle in great condition, and with the top down when you hit the gas on the highway, it sings beautifully.  Please call Dave at 845-638-6200 during regular business hours if you have any questions.  Please don't ask what is the reserve - the vehicle is priced to sell.  Please only serious bidders - no tire kickers please.  I have a CLEAN TITLE in hand - ready to go.  Buyer responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping.

HAPPY BIDDING!

Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang is a track-day weapon with 500 hp

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Ford promises more than 500 horsepower and a torque peak above 400 lb-ft.
The wait is finally over. After months of spy shots, rumor and innuendo, Ford has officially pulled the wraps off its new Shelby GT350. Judging by the spec sheet and the promises being made - especially that the Shelby GT350 will be "an all-day track car that's also street legal" - the wait appears to have been worth it.

Buyers ditching expensive European sedans to buy expensive American trucks

Mon, Feb 19 2018

The New York Times ended the automotive week with a story that adds numbers and context to a range of other stories, from the crossover craze to the increasing median price of a new car to ever more grandiose pickup trucks. The NYT piece reveals that the shift to larger vehicles isn't merely about the average U.S. buyer swapping the midsize sedan for a Ford Edge. Luxury buyers are migrating from plush sedans to plush SUVs and trucks that creep close to six-figure prices, and the Detroit Three are running Treasury presses because of it. From 2013 to 2017, the truck category — everything from pickups to minivans — climbed from 30 percent of the market to 41 percent. In January of this year, trucks claimed 66 percent of new vehicle sales. At the milk-and-honey end of profits, GMC alone accounted for 11.3 percent of all vehicle sales over $60,000, not just trucks. That puts the luxury truck maker behind Mercedes-Benz and Ford, The Blue Oval's feasting on Lariat, King Ranch and Raptor versions of the F-150, which make up more than half of that pickup's sales, putting it ahead of Chevrolet, Porsche and Lexus on the high-dollar sales list. The average transaction price of a GMC in Denali trim last year was $56,000; it's easy to see why, when one dealer told the NYT he just swapped a 2012 BMW 550i for a $71,000 GMC Sierra Denali. That truck starts at $52,900. The NYT started its story with a buyer who took home a Ford Raptor instead of an Audi A6, and optioned that $50,020 Ford Raptor close to $80,000. Over at Lincoln, the new $72,055 Navigator — the one so popular that Ford will increase production — crossed hands for an average sale price of $77,000 in January. And a Jeep dealer told the NYT that the two $93,000 Trackhawks he had on his lot "won't be here more than a few weeks." While trucks head up in sales volume and price, cars are headed so viciously in the opposite direction that "the Detroit Three and even some foreign manufacturers acknowledge they are now losing money on many of the cars they sell." So ... get ready for a lot more crossovers and trucks. Related Video: Find out what vehicle is right for you. Give our Car Finder tool a try.

MotorWeek relives '80s coupes with Dodge Daytona, Ford Escort EXP

Thu, Aug 6 2015

Get ready for a wave of nostalgia and the rapid realization of the huge progress in performance cars over the last 30 years. For its latest Retro Review, MotorWeek takes a look back at two, front-wheel drive coupes from the '80s that seem to have entirely vanished from the roads today. Both the 1986 Dodge Daytona CS and the 1986.5 Ford Escort EXP were considered affordable, sporty options in their day, but the passage of time hasn't been kind to either of their specs. The Daytona certainly looks the part of a performance machine with a body that's reminiscent of other '80s coupes, like the third-gen Chevrolet Camaro. However with 146 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque from a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, acceleration wasn't exactly a strong suit. MotorWeek complained about copious torque steer, as well. The optional CS suspension upgrade package on this Daytona was apparently a nod to Carroll Shelby who was working with Dodge at the time. If anything, the Escort EXP withstands the test of time even worse. As a two-seat coupe, you might have expected Ford's engineers to really turn up the performance to fit the sporty image that the exterior conveyed. That didn't really happen, and depending on which model buyers ordered, they got either 86 horsepower with a 1.9-liter engine or the "high-output" version of that mill with 108 hp.
