2006 - Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Dexter, Missouri, United States

This is the cleanest, baddest, lowest mileage (11,550), most beautiful 2006 Mustang on the planet. It began it's life as a 2006 Premium GT Coupe and then the fun began! It has a professionally installed ProCharger Supercharger, producing well over 500 bhp. The gears are 373 to allow for performance as well as drive ability. The engine compartment has been tastefully "dressed up" with lots of Steeda chrome, a red plenum cover, and all tubing has been powder coated red. The front end has been lowered 1.5 inches and rear end 2.0 inches. The 20' chrome wheels beautifully finish the aggressive stance. Magna Flow exhaust has been added to give it that deeper, fuller roar that the massive horse power deserves. The interior has been fitted with two-tone red and black leather to match the outside of the car with it's subtle black accents. The 5-speed shifter has been replaced with a Hurst shorty shifter to give it that short throw shifting to smoothly move to the next gear. Three additional gauges have been added to the driver side pillar to monitor the boost and performance of the supercharger. It also has a professionally installed security and alarm system. To continue with the interior, a phenomenal Kenwood stereo system has been added that is apportioned with an interior retractable DVD screen and player with two DVD monitors added inside the trunk lid to enjoy those car shows where undoubtedly you will want to show this baby as you walk away with trophy after trophy. The trunk has become the housing unit for the custom stereo box along with the 3 ten inch subs, two DVD monitors, 12 CD changer and two 1000 watt amps. This mustang has been fitted with a rear back-up camera as well as a Garmin GPS system. The outside is pure eye candy! This car has never seen rain and has never been wet. Thats right, I don't use water to keep this beauty clean. I only use professional cleaning and polishing products to ensure the luster and protection of the paint. We've already talked about the wheels so lets talk about the deep black paint that was added to the hood, rear deck lid insert, and wing to give it the contrast it needed to go along with the classy original red color. I also added a black and silver gas door cover, as well as black rear side window louvers to accent the paint scheme. I have added red LED lights to the underneath side of the car so at night it give a red glow that is constant or you can change it to strobe or flash. Oh and by the way did I mention I installed Lambo style hinges to give the doors that Lambo look? This is a real attention grabber! This car has been babied and never abused. It was built to show and it's time for me to move on. My hope is that you will see the value in this car and be able to continue its legacy as well as enjoy driving this legend. I know I have missed something, there is just so much love and time that has gone into this vehicle. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Thank you so much for looking at this true one of a kind original! Also Comes with SCT Tuner to tune to weather etc!

Here's why automakers roll out those Texas-themed pickup trucks
Thu, Sep 29 2016Every year, automakers with a full-size truck link make a big show of the Texas State Fair, usually involving a reveal of a new model. Sometimes they show a whole new truck, and other times a special edition centered on the Lone Star state. While some people might write this off as a quirk of the industry, others might be wondering, "What's the big deal with Texas?" As it turns out, part of the big deal with Texas is big truck sales. According to Dave Sullivan, product analysis manager at AutoPacific, Texas buys more trucks than any other state in the country. It's not a small margin either. Edmunds.com, one in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. The state also accounts for 15 percent of the country's large truck sales, which is more than twice that of California, the second largest truck market in America. Even when you break down sales only in Texas, trucks are a huge piece of the pie - Sullivan says that a quarter of new vehicle sales in Texas are trucks. One in five trucks sold in the US are sold in Texas. But it's not just sales that make truck builders give attention to Texas. As Sullivan explained, "Pickups are life in Texas." Both he and Hugh Milne, marketing and advertising manager for the Chevy Silverado line, said that trucks are key fixtures in Texas society, as both work trucks and luxury vehicles (or Texas Cadillacs as Milne called them). Milne said Texas is so important in the truck market that if you want to be successful in the rest of the country, "you've got to be successful in Texas." As for the State Fair, it has become a prime location for reveals in part because of the importance of the Texas market and because of how big the fair is. Milne also revealed that the State Fair also hosts its own auto show, so it's an ideal venue for a vehicle introduction. So there you have it. Why do truck builders obsess over Texas? It's because Texas obsesses over trucks. When you have one market that loves your product that much, you give it the attention it deserves. Ford says utility vehicles are key to global growth
Tue, 26 Nov 2013While most of us believe that small, fuel efficient cars are the key to global expansion for US automakers, Jim Farley, Ford's vice president of Global Marketing, thinks otherwise. Last week, we attended an exclusive sneak preview of the Ford Edge Concept in advance of the Los Angeles Auto Show, and Farley told us that it's actually utility vehicles that will help the Blue Oval gain market share overseas. "There is no other segment in our industry that is growing like utilities," he said. "We expect over the next five years this full family of [utility] vehicles to really drive our growth as a company."
And Farley has the numbers to back it up, too. Ford projects overall automotive sales to grow 23 percent from 2012 to 2017, but the company's utility vehicles are expected to boom by an impressive 41 percent during that same period. Much of that growth will be in China, where Ford estimates its utility sales will explode. "The biggest opportunity for us globally for utilities is in China," Farley said. "China utility growth is expected to more than double from where it is today to 2017, which isn't that far away." Most astounding is that Ford projects its own utility sales in China will eventually increase by more than 2,000 percent when smaller crossovers, such as the EcoSport and Kuga (sold as the Escape in North America), and the Edge and Explorer, are factored in.
Ford's VP also expects utilities to lead the way in the struggling European market. "With all the difficulties of the European market, there is one segment that has actually expanded in volume over the last several years even though the market is way down, and that's utilities," Farley told us. Ford estimates that their utility sales will grow 65 percent in Europe from 2012-2017. "The utility segment is projected to grow we think about thirty percent between now and 2017 in Europe, and we think we are going to grow twice that rate as a brand," Farley continued.
Jim Hackett says metal tariffs costing Ford $1 billion in profits
Wed, Sep 26 2018Ford CEO Jim Hackett divulged in an interview with Bloomberg that the Trump administration's tariffs on metals imported from the European Union, Canada and Mexico have affected the automaker's balance sheet, adding that trade disputes need a quick resolution. "From Ford's perspective, the metals tariffs took about $1 billion in profit from us," Hackett told the outlet. "The irony is we source most of that in the U.S. today anyways. We're in a good place right now, but if it goes on longer there will be more damage." Hackett did not specify what period the $1 billion covered, but a Ford spokesman said the CEO was referring to internal forecasts at Ford for higher tariff-related costs in 2018 and 2019. President Trump in March announced his intention to enact 25 percent tariffs on steel imports and 10 percent on imported aluminum from the three trade zones as a way to protect the U.S. steel industry. The move sent U.S. automakers' stock prices plunging at a time when they were coming off weak monthly sales reports. Separately, President Trump has targeted China with two rounds of tariffs targeting a combined $260 billion worth of imports. China has responded by enacting 25-percent tariffs on U.S. goods including vehicle imports. In the interview, Hackett said that has hurt demand for Lincoln, which has found a growing market for its luxury vehicles in China, and made the price of the Lincoln MKC less attractive to Chinese buyers. The MKC is built at the company's Louisville, Ky. assembly plant. "We've had to move people in that factory to other operations because of that trade problem," he said. It's not clear what those moves entail or how many workers were involved. Autoblog sought comment from a Ford spokeswoman and will update this story if we hear back. Ford last month announced it was scrapping plans to import the Focus Active small crossover to the U.S. from China because of the new 25-percent tariffs on Chinese imports.
