2005 Ford Mustang on 2040-cars
Pueblo, Colorado, United States
More infos regarding my car at: solreigstad@netzero.net .
2005 Saleen Mustang S281. This car is almost like a new car with only 17,865 Actual miles. It
is a two owner car with good history. It has always been a second car and never driven as a daily driver, always
garaged and kept spotless. It’s also all original and has not been modified any further than how it left Saleen.
I feel this adds value to the car, as many have been altered, taking away from how Saleen intended the car to be.
This car is not Supercharged, so the engine is unaltered and how it left Ford. The suspension has the Saleen
Performance package which lowers the car, enhancing the cars performance and looks. Mangaflow Exhaust system sounds
awesome and allows the car to perform better and still passes emission testing. The interior is stunning…. Saleen
installed black leather seats that hug your body and make you feel well planted in this great sports car. The dash
has the Ford Premium package and shows well with the subtle Saleen added features. The interior is in immaculate
condition and has never been smoked or eaten in. It smells like fine leather when you open the door. Other features
include keyless entry, Factory sound system with CD player and tinted glass. The exterior is also immaculate! The
black paint is deep with gloss and has no scratches or dings. Its beautiful out in the sun and is very eye catching
with its Chrome Plated 20” Saleen rims. The tires are original to the car, but are still in great shape. If you
are looking for a fantastic summer car that is a thrill to drive, then this is the car for you! It is a real head
turner too! There are not many low mileage sports cars in this price range, making this car a great value.

Pickup prices rising at 2x industry average
Tue, 11 Jun 2013We've said it before, but bears repeating: Pickup trucks are the financial engines of America's automakers. Good thing, then, that the segment is in rude health - in fact, Automotive News is suggesting that pickup truck sales are arguably healthier than they were pre-recession, even though the segment's volume is still significantly down from where it was before the bottom fell out of the US economy. That's because per-unit profits on full-size trucks are skyrocketing, outpacing the industry's average price increases by more than double since 2005. According to data from Edmunds, the average transaction price of a full-size pickup is now $39,915 - a heady increase over the $31,059 average price in 2005 - a gain of over 8 percent after inflation is factored in.
Just how important are trucks to automakers' bottom lines? Automotive News quotes a Morgan Stanley analyst as saying the Ford F-Series is responsible for 90 percent of the company's 2012 profits, and General Motors isn't far behind, with the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra twins chipping in about two-thirds of the automaker's earnings.
Automotive News points out that Detroit's automakers now have the money to invest in modernizing their full-size truck offerings, in part because they don't have the same overhead and legacy costs that pushed General Motors and Chrysler into bankruptcy. Certainly, the pickup segment has seen a lot of innovations as of late, including turbocharged V6s, coil-spring rear suspensions and active aero. Those improvements in important areas like fuel economy and ride comfort have given existing pickup buyers new reasons to upgrade. In addition, automakers are piling on the tech and luxury goodies, creating more and more high-content, high-profit models like the Ford F-150 King Ranch, Ram 1500 Laramie Longhorn and Chevrolet Silverado High Country (shown).
Ford board pushing Mulally for decision amidst fears story is drowning out other news
Thu, 12 Dec 2013Automakers and their executives rarely like to divulge information regarding future goings on, but the board of directors at Ford sound like they're getting a little antsy about chief executive officer Alan Mulally and his plans for 2014.
According to Reuters, as news of Mulally's possible departure to Microsoft continues to swirl, Ford's board is looking to push the affable executive to make a decision about his future sooner rather than later. Apparently, the board is growing concerned that this will-he/won't-he drama may end up distracting the media from covering Ford's other big news events next year - items like the debut of key all-new products like the Mustang and F-150.
So far, the picture for Mulally's eventual successor remains fuzzy, but it's understood that the leading candidate remains the company's chief operating officer, Mark Fields. Just recently, we heard that Mulally will stay until the end of 2014, but a few months ago, Ford seemed open to the idea of him stepping down earlier than that.
