Up for bid is a 2003 Mustang Cobra 4.6 DOHC Supercharged with 6 speed manual trans with 71,762 miles. The vehicle has a rebuilt title and there is odometer discrepancies on carfax. I have owned the vehicle 6 months and purchased it for bracket racing but the vehicle was to nice to use as race car even tho the unfortunate history of it. List of mods include Kenne bell 2.8 supercharger at 20 psi, 60 pound injectors, cold air intake, upgrade MAF converstion good for 1000 hp, Metco idler pulleys, Accufab throttle body, long tube headers and Borla stinger exhaust no catalytic converters, six speed manual with upgraded shaft and shift forks, Ram clutch and flywheel, adjustable cable and clutch quadrant, Pro 5.0 shifter, tubular k member and control arms, front coilovers, adjustable caster/camber plates, 8.8 solid axle swap shortened one inch with 35 spline Moser axles, c clip eliminators, spool and 4:10 Ford Motorsport gears, Pro Comp differential support cover, adjustable rear upper and lower control arms, rear coil over converstion with Lakewood shocks in stock location, rear gt disc brake setup, subframe connectors. Made 600 rwhp on 93 octane. Rims are late 90's Cobra replica's 17 by 11.5 rear and 17 by 9 front with Nitto Drag radials and Nitto tires front. 12 inch wheels with 6.5 backspacing with 28 by 10.5 slick will fit nicely in fender since axle is shortened. Ford Australia pulls the ol' talking car prank
Mon, 07 Apr 2014Siri from Apple has proven that being able to talk to your technology doesn't always work perfectly. But what if it could eventually go far enough to give a personality to inanimate objects like our cars? Ford took just this path to comedic effect by playing a prank on many unsuspecting Australians, in a new commercial for its EcoSport compact crossover.
The Aussies seem very nonchalant about having a random parked car talk to them, and they seem surprisingly game when it asks them to get in, call a celebrity and tell a joke. Ford bringing C-Max Solar Energi Concept to CES
Thu, 02 Jan 2014Solar energy might not be enough to power a usable electric vehicle on its own, but that doesn't mean it can't lend a helping hand. And that's what Ford has in store for the Consumer Electronics Show opening next week in Las Vegas.
Ford has essentially taken its C-Max Energi plug-in hybrid and fitted it with the latest in solar panel technology developed by SunPower, acting like a magnifying glass to capture as much of the sun's energy as possible. So you get the benefit of an electric vehicle, with the range assurance of a hybrid, without needing to draw from the grid.
Ford estimates that a day of charging in the sunshine will give the C-Max Solar Energi concept the same full charge as the production PHEV, with a total range of 620 miles - 21 of which can be run on electric power alone. Otherwise the vehicle - which remains a concept for the time being - is identical to the existing C-Max Energi. The top-selling model in Ford's growing hybrid and electric vehicle portfolio helps put Ford just behind Toyota among the top seller of hybrids in America. Ward's Automotive Ten Best Engines of 2014 dominated by diesels, turbos
Thu, 12 Dec 2013With the Car and Driver Ten Best decided, the North American Car and Truck of the Year finalists announced and Cadillac, Ram and Subaru chalking up wins with Motor Trend, it's fair to say that the automotive awards season is in full swing. The next set of trophies to be handed out will be from Ward's Automotive, which has announced the winners of its 2014 10 Best Engines.
The latest contest was marked by the widespread emergence of diesel power and the continued success of turbocharged engines. There was even an electric motor on this year's list. In fact, only three of the ten winners were naturally aspirated and only two winners returned from last year.
"We weren't looking to throw the bums out, as they might say about an election. We were just really impressed with the flood of new powertrains," said Ward's Automotive Editor-in-Chief Drew Winter. Those new powertrains include the 83-kilowatt electric motor from the Fiat 500e, the 1.0-liter, EcoBoost three-cylinder from the Ford Fiesta and the 2.0-liter turbodiesel from the Chevrolet Cruze.
