Black stripes are vinyl not paint and are able to be removed.
Gears are upgraded to 373 gears. Upper supercharger pulley has been upgraded to a 40% smaller pulley - original stock part and belt comes with it. Shifter has been upgraded to a Steeda short throw shifter - original stock part comes with it. Shifter knob has been upgraded to a race-style knob - original stock part comes with it. Exhaust has been upgraded to a 3 inch MagnaFlo system. Tires are Sumitomo and have under 1,500 miles on them - local pickup can take two Eagle tires that came stock. PA inspection and emissions good until 6/15. Oil has always been synthetic. Never been smoked in. If you plan to smoke in this car, please do not tell me about it - I'll cry. Gas has always been 93 octane with STP octane boost added with every tank. Car has never been driven in snow or salt covered roads and very few times in the rain. Car has been babied and driven under 600 miles per year for my ownership lasting the last five years. The engine compartment received a complete new wire harness last spring of 2013 - a squirrel had made a happy home in it for that winter. I bought the car from a local dealership owner - his wifes personal toy. She had babied it during her ownership. The previous owner (Dealers wife) rubbed a highway barrier - thus causing the incident report ping. No damage was done other than scrapping the passenger side lower bumper, which was promptly fixed pristine. The car runs perfect, as anyone would expect. Other than the glitchy drivers front power window (common for 2001-2004) there is no electrical issues. Deposit will NOT be refunded if you get cold feet. I will help coordinate shipping AFTER cleared payment, but THE BUYER is responsible to set up shipping. LOCAL PICKUP is preferred but not a necessity. Inspection is THE BUYERS responsibility - the transaction will not be canceled or refunded if you come to pick the car up and you change your mind. This car is being sold privately AS IS with NO WARRANTY of any kind, written, expressed, or implied. As complete as I think this listing is, I probably forgot something. If you have any questions, I will do my best to answer them. Text for quick responses or more pictures: 1-814-528-2674 Dave |

Ford to spread all-wheel drive across performance range
Tue, Feb 10 2015Car and Driver took a closer look at the all-wheel-drive system in the Focus RS, Ford reps having made "broad hints" about it being applied to other performance vehicles. One spokesperson even said that he "can see this as one of those technologies of the future." That would make sense because, as C/D notes, it couldn't have been an inexpensive job to engineer the torque-vectoring unit for the Focus – one that can send 70 percent of torque to the rear wheels, and send 100 percent of that portion to either wheel if needed. C/D also clues into the system's close similarity to the AWD unit in the recently updated Range Rover Evoque, which is manufactured by Sweden's GKN Driveline. In the Evoque, torque vectoring is brake based and two electronically controlled clutches turn the Range into a front-wheel-drive crossover under 22 miles per hour. Ford wouldn't comment on the GKN Driveline connection, or even if there is one. No matter where it might come from, more performance Fords are good for every enthusiast, and we do not look an AWD, torque-vectoring gift horse in the mouth. Ford's Explorer-based Police Interceptor to get 365-hp EcoBoost option
Tue, 20 Aug 2013Speeders beware, the police are going to be getting quite a bit faster. Ford has just announced that it will be offering its 3.5-liter, twin-turbocharged, EcoBoost V6 in the Explorer Police Interceptor. The new engine will be joining the existing 3.7-liter V6. The 365-horsepower, 350-pound-foot mill should be familiar to consumers as the powerplant that's found in the Ford Taurus SHO (and its LEO equivalent, the Taurus Police Interceptor) and the Ford Explorer Sport. It should also provide quite a kick in the pants to officers used to the naturally aspirated 3.7 and its 304 ponies and 279 pound-feet of torque.
The move to the more potent powerplant was born out of all the equipment officers need to carry on a day-to-day basis. These days, there's so much stuff that police need on a regular basis, that there's a genuine market for a faster Police Interceptor Utility, as it's known officially. The Explorer-based cruiser has already accounted for 68 percent of Ford's LEO sales in 2013, and that's with just the 3.7, and we'd only expect that number to increase once the twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V6 is available. Ford won't offer up any indication of what the take rate will be on the new engine, but we're guessing it'll be fairly high.
The success of the Explorer PI couldn't have come at a better time for Ford. The decision to end Crown Victoria production was not a popular one with police, and combined with Chevrolet and Dodge diving into the LEO market feet first, Ford hasn't been performing as well as it's wanted to. The Explorer has been helping it turn around, though. And with the inclusion of the EcoBoost, Ford also has a legit competitor for the Chevrolet Tahoe on the big utility side of the police market.
Ford pulling out of V8 Supercars after 2015
Tue, Dec 2 2014Australian racing fans are staring down the end of an era as news breaks that Ford will no longer participate in the V8 Supercars series. Although the official announcement has yet to be made, the decision – as reported widely in the automotive press Down Under and in global motorsport publications – indicates that the Blue Oval automaker has already confirmed its intentions to its shareholders early on Monday to shut down its factory effort in the popular tin-top series at the end of next season. The move will mark the end of an era for what has become the International V8 Supercars Championship. Alongside GM's Holden division, Ford was one of only two manufacturers competing in the series from its inception in the late 1990s through last year when a change in regulations opened the door for entries from Nissan, Volvo and Mercedes. Further rule changes are expected to attract even more manufacturers to the series, with Lexus said to be first among them. Over the past eighteen seasons, the V8 Supercars Championship has been won in a Holden Commodore fourteen times, leaving Ford to win the title only four times with successive versions of the Falcon. Eleven of the cars on the grid this season were Commodores, compared to only seven Ford Falcons between two teams that will need to switch to another manufacturer for the season after next – although some could opt to stick with their Fords for one more season, even without factory support, until the open 2016 regulations take effect. The decision follows Ford's announcement last year that it will cease manufacturing in Australia by 2016, ending a 90-year presence Down Under that stretches back to 1925. Blue Oval models like the Falcon, previously unique to the Aussie market, are being replaced by imported models like the Mondeo and Mustang.
