I have for sale my 2003 Mustang mach 1. The car has approx. 74,500 miles on it and is in good shape. I have owned the car for 2 and a half years now and loved every minute of it! This is not my daily driver but my toy car i drive roughly once a week and on special occasions. The car has a few different upgrades and rides like a dream.

Interior:

The interior of the car is in good shape. it has the normal wear you would expect for its age and mileage. The car has a DVD player and hands free blue tooth installed, both work well! i currently have unhooked the Bluetooth hook up so i could hook up a sub system i had kicking around. The system will come with the car but its nothing too crazy.

Exterior:

The exterior of the car is in good shape overall. When i purchased the car it had previously been keyed but was repaired to a certain degree. The key marks are only on the passenger side from the hood to the trunk lid. They dont stand out as bad as you would think though. I wax the car roughly every two weeks with a turtle wax black carnauba wax kit and it hides the scratches quite well. The front bumper also has quite a bit of stone chips in it as well. I would assume the previous owner lived on a dirt road or something. I had a quote done through a good body shop to repaint the front bumper, hood and fender and it was around $1000. i have already figured th
is into my asking price. If you would like me to have the work done and add the amount to the cost of the car that can be arranged as well. Other than that the car has minor wear on the paint and no major dings or dents. I put black dual hash mark decals on the front fenders to dress the car up a little and it looks great. I also put brand new American Muscle 18in. staggered black saleen wheel kit on it last fall. the tire have about 500 miles on them and no burnouts or anything of that nature. They have a nitrogen fill as well.

Upgrades and Mechanical:

New performance front brakes and rotors last fall. Rear brakes are in great shape.

Aftermarket Maximum Motorsports adjustable front suspension

New poly sway bar bushing

Lowering springs

Upgraded control arms and bushing

Brand new OEM headlights

SLP X-pipe and exhaust system with loud mouth 2 mufflers (NO HEADERS)

K&N air filter

Cold Air Intake

18" staggered American Muscle Saleen wheels and Sumitomo performance tires

New rear drive shaft seal

DVD player and hands free blue tooth

The car only has one minor Mechanical issue and that's a noisy throwout bearing. The bearing started making a minor whine about three weeks ago and only when its cold. I havent replaced the bearing yet since I rarely drive the car. A new Ford racing performance heavy duty bearing only costs $59.98 through American Muscle. I have considered this in my asking price as well. This is something i can easily replace myself if need be but i would rather just subtract if from my asking price.

This car is my baby and I'm not giving it away so reasonable offers only please. The only reason I'm selling this car is because i plan on going back to the police academy next fall and the car is currently financed. I will not be getting paid to attend the academy and will be working nights and weekends to survive it selling it will make my life way easier. when i was in the academy before i worked a lot to afford to keep the car and i don't want to be killing myself for five months to afford it again. I had to leave the academy previously due to an injury. As far as payment goes the car is financed with a lien so the best way to process the sale is to have the full of the amount of the sale sent to my bank and they send me the extra. They also do an automatic lien release with 24 hours of receiving the cleared check. checks must be from a local or national bank. otherwise i would prefer cash, No personal checks if possible. The car WILL NOT leave my driveway unless paid for in cash! once my bank clears the check it can be picked up along with the title.

I think this covers most of the important details. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me. The car is also for sale in my home town so i reserve the right to cancel this listing at any point. I am not interested in any trades what so ever!

UK's Loughborough University improving Ford's 1.0-litre EcoBoost engine

Wed, May 21 2014

How much does it cost for college students to study zero emissions vehicles? At Loughborough University in the UK, a new Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) is being built at a cost of a billion pounds ($1.7 billion US). The school has just announce that it will fund a number of grad student positions and is creating a new Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, which sounds like a fun job to us. We're weird like that. There will be a total of four professor-type positions in the new Center, including the chair, all focused on teaching students about low-carbon vehicle technologies, specifically electric and hybrid ones. The school is investing 1.5 million pounds ($2.5 million) for the new positions. There is a bigger picture as well, a 26-million pound ($44 million) Advanced Combustion Turbocharged Integrated Variable-valvetrain Engine (ACTIVE) project, which uses funds not only from the school but also from Ford and others. The point of ACTIVE is to study Ford's 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine and "improve further its efficiency and ensure it exceeds 2020 emission regulations." This is already a popular engine for the automaker, and it will need to stay at the bleeding edge of efficiency to remain as important in 2020 as it is today. Loughborough University has been working with automakers on advanced energy technologies for years, for example with Rolls-Royce and fuel cells in 2007 and the Lotus Hotfire engine in 2008. University invests GBP1.5M in advanced propulsion research to advance zero emissions vehicles challenge Loughborough University is investing GBP1.5M over five years in strategic research appointments, inspired by the global challenge to develop the new advanced propulsion technologies required for the move to zero emission vehicles. These appointments reinforce the University's world-class research in low-carbon vehicle technologies, adding new dimensions concerned with electric and hybrid drives. Four appointments will be made, including a Chair in Advanced Propulsion Systems, supported by a number of PhD studentships. The GBP1.5M investment is part of the University's commitment to the recently announced Advanced Propulsion Centre (APC) to support the development of new supply chains for low carbon vehicles. APC is an initiative established by the Automotive Council that will see GBP1 billion of investment from government and industry over the next 10 years.

Ford opens the doors on its Swedish rally skunkworks

Fri, 19 Sep 2014

It's always amazing to see how different kinds of racecars are made. Formula One racers are often constructed in modern architectural marvels that hint at some of the cutting-edge technology going into the racing. Conversely, rallying is all about sliding around on a varied course as fast as possible, but it often leaves a vehicle caked in mud. So it makes some sense Olsbergs MSE, or simply (OMSE) rally car shop in Nynashamn, Sweden, shows technological sophistication in a more down-to-earth setting. It builds Ford Fiesta ST racers for Global Rallycross there, and this new video gives viewers a tour through the work.
Former rally driver Andreas Eriksson runs OMSE. These days instead of racing, he and the company's 46 employees are building Ford racers from scratch. A ton of work goes into constructing each one, and according to Eriksson, it takes 400 hours to complete each body. At times, things are so busy that some of the technicians live in the shop in apartments that are on premises. There's even a restaurant to keep them fed. Sadly the dyno room is empty during this visit, though.
By the time OMSE is done, a rallycross car might resemble a Fiesta ST on the outside, but as you see in the video, it's a completely different beast underneath. Check out the work it takes to build one of them, and scroll down to read more about it in the official release.

Ford recalling 830,000 vehicles to replace side door latches

Thu, Aug 4 2016

The Basics: Ford is conducting a recall for roughly 830,000 models. The affected vehicles include the 2013 to 2015 Ford C-Max, 2012 to 2015 Ford Focus, 2013 to 2015 Ford Escape, 2015 Lincoln MKC, 2015 Ford Mustang, and 2014 to 2016 Ford Transit Connect. The recall is focused primarily in Arkansas, Alabama, Florida, California, Arizona, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Nevada, Utah, Oklahoma, Washington, and Oregon as the problem mostly affects cars in states with warm weather. The Problem: The pawl spring tab in the side door latch in the affected vehicles could break, preventing the door from latching and could even cause the door to open while driving. Injuries/Deaths: There is one reported injury and one reported accident. The Fix: Dealers will replace the affected cars' side door latches. If you own one: Reach out to your local Ford dealer to schedule a service.
