Up for sale is my 1999 Saleen, bumper number 145 of 491 cars made that year.  This car is one of 3 black automatics made in 1999, and is in the Saleen registry.  The Letter of Authenticity is below.  I am working on getting Saleen to fix the flaw (this car came with a 2V, not a 3V, just a typo).  This car came with gray seats, but they have been upgraded to charcoal Mach 1 seats that are in great condition.  The original grey leather will be included as well, and are also in great shape, just like the feel of the Mach 1 seats better.  This car has the usual scratches and chips to be expected out of a 14 year old car, but it is still in GREAT condition.  I have tried to photograph all the chips and dents in the paint.  The front bumper appears to have been repainted at some point, as the passenger side has some light clear coat flaking under the headlight.  Check the history report to see the history on this car.  The car came with a Borla cat-back exhaust and 3.55 gears, also has a MAC Pro-Chamber off road mid-pipe.

The car has ALOT of new parts.
NEW parts include:
Eibach Pro-kit springs (original Saleen springs included)
Bilstein shocks and struts
Offset rack bushings
Sway bar links
Rear Lower control arms
JLT Cold Air intake
Rear axle bearings
Headlights
Upper intake manifold (Ford product, not cheap aftermarket)
Black Chrome Saleen style wheels (original silver painted Saleen wheels included)
Upgraded 13" Mach 1 brakes in front with Saleen decals, drilled and slotted rotors all around
03-04 Cobra front Control arms

I'm probably fogetting more but can't recall right now.  I bought this car last June and have had alot of fun with it, but I am really wanting a convertible now.  This car is sold as is, with a clean and clear Tennessee title in my name ready to sign over.  Any questions feel free to ask!  If you plan on coming to test drive this car, make sure you make an appointment with me within 24 hours.  If you plan on test driving you MUST have a VALID license and have cash in hand.  If you don't have those with you, you will not be driving this car, no ifs, ands, or butts.  Only SERIOUS buyers will be behind the wheel of this car.

Xcar celebrates 100-year anniversary with Model T tribute

Fri, Jan 9 2015

Never mind the fact that XCar hasn't been making videos for the last 100 years, the British duo have gone all silent-moving-pictures in order to make their centenary case for the Ford Model T, a car that was already seven years old in 1915. It's not a review, but a mostly sepia-tinged look at the car that started the mass-market adventure by taking that biblical advice to be fruitful and multiply and populate the Earth abundantly. Since it looks like Xcar is celebrating some kind of milestone, we've also included another video below of the first Xcar review we could find, covering the BMW M1, from the much more recent past - circa 2012.

Average transaction prices climb to a record $36,270 in January

Sat, Feb 3 2018

The automotive sector made a hash of the numbers last month, a mess of pluses and minuses clogging the transaction-price charts according to Kelley Blue Book. The overall industry rose one percent, even though buyers bought fewer cars and light vehicles in January 2018 vs 2017 using the selling-day adjusted rate. Due to January transaction prices rising to $36,270, a record for January, the value of new vehicles sold climbed more than $1 billion compared to January 2017. KBB's transaction prices don't include customer incentives, which changes the complexion slightly; average incentive spending rose to just over ten percent. The average transaction price in December 2017 was $36,756, so January dropped a bit - nothing unexpected, with the month annually blamed for "January doldrums." More revealing is the fact that the average transaction price in January 2017 was $34,910. This year's plumped-up figure came courtesy of the continued shift to crossovers, SUVs, and light trucks, which shouldn't surprise anyone who's read an automotive blog in the past 20 years. That category comprised nearly 70 percent of new vehicle sales for the month. Some manufacturers profited more than others, though. Fiat Chrysler managed 12.8 percent fewer sales in January compared year-on-year, but the company's vehicles sold for $1,300 more. The Ford brand suffered a 6.3-percent dip in sales, but brand transaction prices increased $2,000, while a Lincoln sold for $8,700 more on average. General Motors sold more cars and sold them for more money; overall GM transaction prices rose four percent, or $1,270, while a GMC traded hands for seven-percent more than in January 2017 and a Cadillac got $2,300 more on average. Of KBB's listed automakers, the Volkswagen Group got the most of out its customers, transaction prices rising at the German automaker by 5.6 percent to $42,243 in January 2018 compared to a year earlier. American Honda followed with a 4.3-percent increase to $28,991, GM in third at 4.1 percent to $40,313. Find your next car at Autoblog using our new and used car listings or the Car Finder tool. Broken out by segment, minivans rocked the table, transaction prices leaping by 7.9 percent to $35,380 compared to January a year earlier. Luxury cars boasted the next-highest rise, at 3.6 percent to $58,533.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: First production 2015 Ford Mustang earns $300k for JDRF [w/video]

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

We've almost become immune to the huge dollar amounts that collectible cars earn for charity at Barrett-Jackson. To wit, $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang initially didn't seem like very much money. In reality, though, it's probably about 10 times the actual asking price for the car, and we're pleased to report that 100 percent of the proceeds will go to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
According to Ford, the car's winning bidder will get to "choose a fastback with manual or automatic transmission, and any interior, exterior and stripe color combination offered by Ford on the all-new Mustang." Power will come from a slightly revised version of the well-known 5.0-liter V8 engine that will produce "more than 420hp and 396 pound-feet of torque."
We snapped live images of the 2015 Mustang prototype that Ford had on display here at Barrett-Jackson, and you can check them out above. The official auction description, along with a video of the auction as it happened live, is below.
