1999 Ford Mustang 35th anniversary edition.  Runs and drives great.  Engine, transmission, and differential in great shape. Strong runner. Texas car all of its life until last year. No rust anywhere.  Cold a/cand aftermarket Kenwood.

Drivetrain has had the following repairs done in last year: New ignition wires and plugs. New fuel pump and filter. New cooling fan motor. New lower ball joints. Tires were replaced a little over 4000 miles ago. Brakes were done at this time also. Great engine!

I replaced the front bumper cover due to a crack. It was not involved in an accident but did get cracked from a bump that happened when parking. I did not paint the bumper. Exterior does have the usual clear coat scratches that happen over 14 years. There is a small dent in the left rear quarter that would probably push out from inside. Again, a small dent. See photos.

Two owners only. I purchased it from the original owners. Duplicate title made to sell to me was counted as a sale by autocheck. Minor accident was the parking one.

Interior is average for this year and mileage. I put covers over the front seats to protect them. They are not too bad underneath, but could use cleaning to be perfect. A small grille that is in the drivers dash top is missing I might have it but cannot guarantee it. It should not cost more than 10.00 new and it just "pops" in. The outside grille that is between the hood and windshield is cracked and would need replaceing if you desire. It never bothered me and I just left it as is. To make this perfect it should not take more than 200.00 and some elbow grease. I would trust this to drive cross country as is. Fly in and drive home a classic!

White House clears way for NHTSA to mandate vehicle black boxes

Fri, 07 Dec 2012

At present, over 90 percent of all new vehicles sold in the United States today are equipped with event data recorders, more commonly known as black boxes. If the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration gets its way, that already high figure will swell to a full 100 percent in short order.
Such automotive black boxes have been in existence since the 1990s, and all current Ford, General Motors, Mazda and Toyota vehicles are so equipped. NHTSA has been attempting to make these data recorders mandatory for automakers, and according to The Detroit News, the White House Office of Management Budget has just finished reviewing the proposal, clearing the way. Now NHTSA is expected to draft new legislation to make the boxes a requirement.
One problem with current black boxes is that there's no set of standards for automakers to follow when creating what bits of data are recorded, and for how long or in what format it is stored. In other words, one automaker's box is probably not compatible with its competitors.

2016 Ford Taurus to ride atop reworked Fusion platform

Wed, 19 Mar 2014

Generally, cars get bigger and heavier as they get older. That's why it looks so ridiculous when you park a classic Mini next to a modern version. The same can be said of the Corvette, the BMW 3 Series, Porsche 911 and, of course, the Ford Taurus. In the Taurus' case, though, that size has become a liability, particularly because the big brute isn't nearly as sizable on the inside as it is on the out.
For 2016, Ford is aiming to rectify that. According to Edmunds, the 2016 Taurus will ride on a stretched and widened Ford Fusion platform. Ford is expecting this move to go a long way in trimming the Taurus' ample body fat.
"The problem with today's Taurus is that it is overweight and even the high performance SHO is not really competitive," said a source that spoke to Edmunds on condition of anonymity. The 365-horsepower SHO variant, "actually weighs about as much as the stretched Audi A8 L. Of course, Audi uses an extensive amount of aluminum, but it is a much bigger car."

Wrap up some fun with Ford's commercial vehicle configurator

Tue, 27 Aug 2013

Ford has combined multiple steps into one with its commercial vehicle configurator, which allows users to choose, design and place orders for the Transit, Transit Connect, E-Series vans and F-Series Super Duty trucks.
The most interesting part of the new configurator is a fairly robust design tool. Users are able to choose paint color and wrap the vehicle, and then create their own graphics. No materials are needed - Ford provides numerous background textures, text boxes, plenty of shapes and 20 categories of images including floral, construction, plumbing and skylines. Self-created designs or images can be uploaded to the system as well.
We played around with the design tool a bit and uploaded our own image to create the Autoblog Podcast Live van you see here. Feel free to check out the configurator and make your own design.
