I am selling my 98 mustang GT with 4.6 liter V8. It has 71,000 original miles and many performance and appearance upgrades. This car runs great and is very fast. Battery was replaced last summer along with the fuel pump. The window tint was redone a few months ago and alternator regulator was just replaced last week. It has a 5-speed manual transmission.

Performance upgrades.

PI heads and cam
typhoon intake manifold
mac cold air under fender with air filter
ford underdrive pulleys
3:73 gears
75 mm throttle body
BBK shorty headers
BBK off road H-pipe
Imco performance mufflers (sounds awesome)
Eibach drag launch springs (lowered car 1.5 inches)

Appearance upgrades

Painted black racing stripes
Lambo door kit
Misc. chrome engine parts
Euro tail lights
Billet antenna, fuel door, grill
Chrome GT short throw shifter
Three 10 inch JL audio subs
1500 watt MTX amp and capcitor
(subs and amp needs hooked up)
20 inch boss wheels with cooper tires
Black leather power seats

This is a very nice one of a kind mustang and has done very well at many local car shows. All upgrades have been properly done and the cars whole life has been spent in a garage or covered (car cover included). I have never mistreated this car nor has it ever seen a track. The car is in excellent shape, but it is 16 years old so if you look close enough I am sure you will find a scratch or nick here or there.  The only issues that I am aware of with the car is that is does have a little exhaust rattle that I haven't had a chance to fix.  Also, the reason I have the amp and subs unhooked is because when hooked up there is a slow battery drain.  I am guessing that there is a short leading into the capacitor or amp.  Should be an easy fix, but I haven't had a chance to look for the wire that needs replaced. Rather than that, this is a great car.  The reason I am selling is because I have another mustang that I have been working on and two toys are one too many.  Buyer is responsible for shipping, but I will help where needed.  This car is also for sale locally so I reserve the right to end the auction early if it sells locally.  Please email questions or concerns.  I can send additional photos if desired.  Below is a link to a youtube video. 2014 Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Ford Mustang

Mon, 01 Jul 2013

If you're a fan of Ford racing history, a Mustang worshiper or even just an avid follower of our yearly SEMA coverage, you may have heard the back story on the Race Red Mustang you see above. Back in 1964, Holman & Moody was tapped by the English Alan Mann Racing Team to race-prep three Mustangs for competition in the incredibly arduous 4,000-mile Tour de France Automobile rally. Competing mainly against Jaguar MkII saloons over 10 days and 17 stages, the H&M Mustangs took the top two places in the Touring class and the first-ever racing win for Ford's pony car.
Though the history of that first Mustang win hasn't been incredibly well known here in the States, the subsequent decades have seen plenty of racy versions of the car come and go. Last year at the SEMA show, we covered the brief debut of this living tribute to that piece of racing lore, the Holman & Moody 50th Anniversary TdF Mustang.
This limited-edition Mustang represents a kind of new venture for H&M, as the legendary racing shop has spent the last few decades earning its keep largely by restoring vintage racing cars. The urge to get back into the world of Ford and Mustang was powerful, however, what with the car's 50th anniversary looming and the current generation of 'Stang just about out the door.

Ford dealers offered discounts on tools to fix aluminum

Mon, 27 Jan 2014

With the introduction of the aluminum-bodied 2015 Ford F-150 (and the likely use of aluminum in future Ford products), Ford is looking to help its dealerships reduce costs related to repairing this more labor-intensive material. Automotive News is reporting that Ford dealers with body shops will require an estimated $30,000 to $50,000 in equipment and training to work on aluminum, and to help alleviate the financial burden of the new F-150, Ford has announced a special 20-percent discount on this equipment.
Dealers will be able to save up to $10,000 on tools such as welders, air-filtration systems and rivet guns and to create aluminum-specific work stations. The new F-150 goes on sale in the fourth quarter, and dealers have until October 31 to take advantage of this deal, according to the report.

Ford looks to space robots to improve car-to-car communications [w/video]

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

Ford has partnered with St. Petersburg Polytechnic University for three years to research various kinds of connected vehicle communications. The university tie-up is part of its study of space robots, NASA systems created to enable space-to-Earth communication, and the university's own development of systems that enable communication between the International Space State and Earth.
The objective is for Ford to engineer layers of robust networks and redundancy systems that will allow your car to speak to other cars, to emergency vehicles, to infrastructure like traffic lights and buildings, and to the cloud. Benefits would come in just about every area of transit, from avoiding accidents, to getting medical workers to an accident more quickly, to improving the flow of traffic during rush hour.
Check out the press release below for details on what Ford wants to learn from the JUSTIN Humanoid and NASA Robonaut R2, and a video of technical leader Oleg Gusikhin discussing his interest in the project.
