So here is my Mustang LX, it was a prior 4 cylinder car. My friends and I call it the MarkStang
I purchased a 1993 LX 4 cylinder car because it was very straight, just with faded paint... knowing that I had planned to do a mod swap. The swap parts came from a 1997 Lincoln Mark VIII. There is soo much done to the car that it would be impossible to write it all down, I will make a quick list... but if you are a serious buyer, shoot me an email and I will answer any questions that you have. The car put down 260 to the wheels at ST motorsports in San Bernadino California... and has run an 8.73 in the 1/8 mile at Irwindale just as I drive it, no powerbrake etc... just wait on the tree and swap pedals and left the car in drive. This car was featured in Carcraft magazine in April of this year. It is a nice running and driving car.... it is not perfect... but looks good enough to take to any car show or mustang show.... or just cruise around.

The day after the car was dyno'd and completed I was hit by another car, it broke my heart... After dealing with the insurance company and providing all the receipts that I had saved, they agreed that the value of the car was in the 12-15K area and paid to have the car repaired completely and repainted completely. It is VERY nice still. I have been driving it for a year since I had it repaired and now it is time for a new project and I don't have room to keep this one too.

Body:
New Paint complete job with windows and trim removed
Lots of new trim pieces to replace worn parts
new headlights
draglite wheels in the rear with drag radials
jegs wheels in the front that match the rears
Nice set of corner windows
V8 Brake lines and brakes

Engine/Trans:
1997 Lincoln Mark VIII
125K miles runs very well
1998 Cobra intake
Accufab Throttle body
8.8 rear with 4.10:1 gears and rebuilt trac-loc
custom alum driveshaft
Dynomax VT mufflers with dumps
255LPH pump with custom lines
Hydroboost swap
New Steering Rack and bushings and tie rod ends

Interior:
Late model restoration interior kit for LX
New seat foam for front seats
rewelded leaning seats
nice carpet and new mats
No AC needs custom hoses and dryer reinstalled and vacuum hose to HVAC box
heater core works
Radio doesn't work... don't know why... don't care.
no cruise control
I never hooked up the tach or speedo, I planned to swap to a Florida 5.0 Unit and never got to it, the other gauges work (fuel level, oil press, water temp, Batt)
B&M Shifter for fox adapted to 4r70W Trans

This is a nice car. but with any used car... there is no warranty expressed or implied.

2014 Ford Mustang GT

Fri, 17 May 2013

I was more than a year removed from my last experience with the Mustang GT and its delicious 5.0 V8 when this new 2014 example rolled up to my driveway recently. Good weather and a planned road trip across the state meant that I would get plenty of seat time in this conservatively specified example, too. In total, I logged about 400 miles in a week of driving - not a lot for some of you super commuters out there, but quite a lot for this work-from-home journalist.
The basic formula of the 5.0 has stayed the same for 2014. The 2013 model year saw a number of updates to keep the Mustang fresh until it's replaced with an all-new generation for 2015. So, for its bon voyage tour, the fifth-generation Pony Car has seen only a few modifications: a couple of new paint colors (Oxford White and Ruby Read Metallic), trim and wheel revisions and, sadly, the deletion of the Boss 302 from the Ford lineup. However, while the limited-edition Boss is likely to reappear sometime after the gen-six Mustang makes its debut in 2015, the GT Track Package cars like the one I tested provide at least a partial solution for those looking for hot laps.

American automakers fall in latest Fortune 500 rankings

Fri, 10 May 2013

Not that it means anything beyond bragging rights, but if you're fixated on the positions of domestic automakers on the annual Fortune 500 list, both General Motors and Ford are still on it but they've slipped a couple of notches. The list ranks American companies and they're ordered solely by revenue. GM, fifth last year, came in seventh, while Ford fell from ninth to tenth even though both companies saw small gains in annual revenue.
GM's $152.3 billion in revenue was less than a third of that of the first company on the list: Wal-Mart, which regained the title from Exxon Mobil. Berkshire Hathaway and Apple are the firms that moved GM down. Ford, displaced by energy company Valero, had $134.3 billion in revenue.
On a side note, profitability isn't a factor, but both GM and Ford were down in this year's list compared to last year's: GM declined from $9.2 billion to $6.2 billion, Ford fell from $20.2 billion to $5.6 billion. If profits were included, Exxon Mobil would probably still be king: although the energy company made almost $20 billion less in revenue than Wal-Mart's $469.2 billion, it posted $44.9 billion in profit compared to Wal-Mart's $17 billion.

Ford evaluating new Fiesta RS?

Wed, 08 Jan 2014

Word coming in from across the pond has it that Ford is working on developing the business case to create a new Fiesta RS. The development is encouraged by the extremely positive reception the existing Fiesta ST has garnered to date, and the emergence of the above-pictured Fiesta RS WRC rally car, but it'll take more than goodwill to make a more extreme version a reality.
According to Auto Express, a new roadgoing Fiesta RS would almost certainly be based closely on the ST version, albeit with some vital differences. Its 1.6-liter turbo four would be increased from 180 horsepower to somewhere around 230 hp, and that powertrain would be accompanied by lightweight alloys inside blistered wheel arches, a stripped-out interior and possibly lightweight bodywork.
The vehicle's approval would reportedly require a strong business case in Europe, and not just in the UK where Ford hot hatches traditionally enjoy a strong following. It's unclear whether the Fiesta RS would potentially make the transatlantic voyage to American showrooms, but between it and the larger Focus RS, hopefully the Blue Oval wouldn't leave its home market out of the action altogether.
