Relisted vehicle because of nonpaying bidder. Up for sale is a super clean original 65000 mile 1992 LX mustang. I bought this car over 2 years ago. Since then I have not had time to drive it much and have only put approximately 500 miles on it. I hate to sell it but I have too many projects and one must go. This car is an AC delete car which is something you dont see too much. I have put all 4 new tires on this car, stock size up front and brand new ET street radials on the back which are 255/50/16 because it had old tires on it that were probably well over 10 years old. I also put in a completely rebuilt AOD transmission with 2800 stall convertor to replace the original 5 spd since I like driving an automatic car. I have all the original parts from the 5 spd which includes the clutch, bell housing, original t-5 transmission, shifter etc. There was nothing wrong with the 5 spd other than my preference to put in the AOD. I never removed the clutch pedal or cable so everything is there if you prefer to put it back stock. I also used a stock AOD shifter out of an 88 mustang so i would not have to cut up anything. I had to install a set of brand new chrome BBK long tube headers and x pipe to compliment the AOD install.  Here is a list of mods that were done before I purchased it and are as follows:

Pro M mass air and air intake tube with K&N air filter, Edelbrock throttle body, Cobra intake upper and lower(ported), Edelbrock Performer RPM heads, Electric fan with thermostat, Subframe connectors, HPM rear lower control arms, lowered springs, 4:10 rear gear.

This car is super clean and tight. It has all the vin tags on the fenders, trunk, bumper etc. The only thing that was repainted ever on this car was the front bumper cover as was stated by the previous owner as it had gotten scratched. They did a beautiful job matching the paint to the rest of the car. The rear quarter glass rubber is in minty condition. Please look over the photos as it has a few scratches from normal use but is truly a super clean car. There are no dents on this car so when you look down the side it is straight. The interior is beautiful in this car and is hard to find a cleaner interior. Car has white face guages in it from previous owner. There is no rust on this car anywhere as it has mostly been sitting its life inside with occasional use. I dont know what else to say other than a truly nice example of a 5.0 LX. If you have any questions please dont hesitate to ask and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

I wanted to also add that I forgot to mention the car does have a camshaft from Flowtech induction with all the specs in one of the pictures I uploaded. I also installed a new Performance Automatic SFI approved flexplate as well. Have clean and clear title in hand. Thanks

Report: GM struggling to market turbo technology

Tue, 20 Apr 2010

In the automotive realm, marketing can sometimes prove just as important as the actual product. Take, for instance, Ford's well regarded EcoBoost technology, which couples turbocharging with direct injection to produce more horsepower and reduce fuel consumption. Would it surprise you to hear that General Motors has had similar technology on the market for over three years?
It's true. GM's first turbocharged, direct injected powerplants hit the market for the 2007 model. The 2.0-liter Ecotec mills put down an impressive 260 horsepower and a matching 260 pound-feet of torque, and they were lauded by the press in the engine bays of the Pontiac Solstice, Saturn Sky, Chevrolet Cobalt SS and Chevrolet HHR SS. But few people outside a core group of enthusiasts actually remember this fact.
Says Uwe Grebe, executive director of GM's global advanced engineering, "We didn't have a badge and say, 'This is the most important thing we will put on all our brochures.'" Ford, however, did just that, and it's EcoBoost engines are right at the tips of all our tongues when we discuss today's most advanced powerplants. So, how does The General fix its mistake?

Ford EcoSport Storm concept swallows a Raptor in Sao Paulo

Sun, 02 Nov 2014

Ford rolled into the Sao Paulo Motor Show with some pretty cool crossovers in tow, the awesomest of all being the EcoSport Storm concept shown above, which draws its inspiration directly from the F-150 SVT Raptor. It packs a lower grille clearly derived from the now-famous muscle truck, as well as a Blue Storm paint job, black and silver trim, special graphics, lower body cladding and 215/75 R15 off-road tires. Don't go holding your breath for a supercharged V8, though; made locally in Brazil, India and Thailand, the tiny EcoSport is typically powered by a three- or four-cylinder engine.
The Storm isn't the only specially prepared Ecosport on show, however, joined as it is by another pair called Beauty and the Beast. Beauty is decked out in matte copper with a black roof, LED fog lamps, 18-inch wheels with low-profile tires and an interior complete with four individual bucket seats, leather upholstery and a full multimedia suite. The Beast, meanwhile, takes a sportier approach with a white pearl finish, blue and orange trim and three-bar grille. It also wears 18-inch wheels and LED fog lamps, but its interior swaps out its rear seats for a bike rack.
Joining the EcoSport show cars was an Edge crossover equipped with all the latest technologies and done up in bright red with three-bar grille, bulging hood, and an interior featuring 10-inch touchscreens and leather upholstery. Feel free to read more in the press release below.

Brits recreate iconic Bullitt chase scene

Tue, 13 May 2014

Recreating the famous chase scene from Bullitt has become almost an art form in its own right. We've seen it done in a music video, with scale models and even in commercials. There are few films that are as defined by a single scene as the 1968 classic. Even if you don't know a single beat of the plot, the Highland Green Ford Mustang racing a Dodge Charger through the hilly streets of San Francisco is famous. It's so well known that the Silverstone Classic has created a homage to promote its celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Mustang at this year's event in July.
Filmed around the famous UK circuit, the short film generally gets the key points of the scene right. It even has a green Volkswagen Beetle that keeps reappearing, as in the movie. Unfortunately, its Steve McQueen stand-in looks a little too old for the role. While the video shortens the chase considerably, it's still great to see these '60s behemoths leaning and sliding around the track. Scroll down for a touch of nostalgia thanks to one of the greatest scenes ever in cinema - we've got both the recreation and the original chase seen from the movie waiting for you.
