Known issues include driver window seal missing (rust shows underneath this because of a leak when I regularly drove the car back in late 90's, however there is no corrosive issues whatsoever, but minor soft spots here and there that are a matter of rubbing out (not corrosive). Electric Door Locks not working. It seems to me Window motors are almost out (very slow to get windows up)."Air bag" light occasionally goes on, but does shut off. Also "Low Coolant" light flashing on and off however fluid is full. "Brake" light continues to stay lit as well. Power lumbar air seat (driver side) does not work. Interior upholstery could use a good clean; a minor tear in rear bench seat. Other then this- this is one solid car with ultra low, original miles that been garage/warehouse kept."

This Mustang is clean and solid, tight bones and proves it self on the road.  It has been stored in my garage in Florida for over 7 years, and is now stored in my business' warehouse in Oregon since 8 years. Never been in an accident, excellent condition with some minor flaws (cosmetically)- They should be listed above in seller notes. Runs very strong. Both Exterior & Interior is in 85% great shape. The car is well taken care of.
This car was originally owned by my father, which was passed down/bought by me when I was in my 20's (I'm 42).  This Mustang is designed for that person that just wants to put a little pride of ownership in the car and get it up to top shape as an all original 5.0. Like anyone else- it's been a long standing to-do thing for me to get it restored, but I don't just have the time to do it as I'm too busy working/traveling on business.  If you've got a little time and money, you've got a beauty here. If not, its road ready NOW.

5-speed manual High-Performance Cobra Transmission.  Flowmasters installed 3 years ago. Welded in-place Frame Stabilizers installed 3 years ago (a great feature in convertible Mustang's)- BIG DIFFERENCE in how it road handles than without. Tires are wide, low-profile 245/50 R16's and are 85% new.
A serious Mustang enthusiast will love this car.

I am in the process of uploading a video to youtube that I just shot today while taking pictures. Can be seen here - http://youtu.be/WWcQ5yxhD_w

How that awesome Mustang R/C car chase vid was made

Tue, 06 Aug 2013

We've reported on a few R/C car chase videos in the past. One in particular that stands out as a favorite is Zach King's "The Cliché RC Action Chase." It featured a pair of Ford Mustang coupes racing through a cardboard city, plowing into outdoor patios and busting through construction zones. It was wonderfully creative and fun to watch, yet we know there was more to its creation than a bunch of guys fooling around with a camera one afternoon.
Turns out we were right, as evidenced by this video produced by Ford that takes us behind the scenes of Zach's creation. The young filmmaker explains why he chose the Mustang to star in his video, as well as how the cardboard sets were created, what equipment they used for shooting and what it was like when his video went viral. Ford found the young filmmaker and produced the followup as part of its Mustang Countdown video series, which will see a new video about the Mustang culture released every week until the original muscle car's anniversary on April 17, 2014.
Want to make an RC chase video of your own? Yeah, we do too. Watch the behind-the-scenes video below (you can refresh yourself on the mini feature film, too) before you get started.

2013 North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year finalists announced [w/poll]

Wed, 12 Dec 2012

2012 is almost in the books and automakers are spending December gearing up for the 2013 auto show season, which tips off next month at the Detroit Auto Show. Traditionally, the latter opens up with the announcement of the North American Car and Truck/Utility of the Year awards, and this year figures to be no different.
But up until this moment, we didn't know which six vehicles would be parked ahead of the stage as finalists, with executives and engineers waiting for the winners to be disclosed. Whittled down from October's "short list" of nominees (11 cars and 10 truck/utility vehicles), the finalists are as follows:

GM readying aluminum-body fullsize pickups

Wed, 19 Feb 2014

Ford's extensive use of aluminum in its 2015 F-150 is a big deal. A really big deal. Big enough, in fact, that General Motors is reportedly changing its fullsize pickup strategy. According to The Wall Street Journal, The General has locked in partnerships with Alcoa Inc. and Novelis Inc. - companies that will supply aluminum for the next-generation Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra trucks.
"Ford's introduction of the 2015 F-150 pickup truck was a game changer, and it's the first, not the last, conversion of this type," Novelis spokesperson Charles Belbin told the Journal. The switch to aluminum has allowed Ford to shave roughly 700 pounds off its fullsize truck's curb weight. And while official mileage ratings have not been announced, the weight loss should go a long way for improving efficiency, especially when combined other efficiency-minded improvements including better aerodynamics and new, turbocharged V6 engines.
Of course, aluminum-bodied cars are nothing new. But extensive use of aluminum in a major, best-selling product like the Ford F-150 is expected to kick off widespread use of this weight-saving material as availability rises and cost decreases. The WSJ reports that GM had originally explored the idea of moving to aluminum pickups back in 2008, but abandoned the idea due to cost concerns amid economic woes.
